last time i did ask Maybank via FB messenger. here is they answer

"you may email your request to mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my together with your latest 3 months payslip and EA form.

Generally, the processing time for conversion to upgrade the credit card will take 10 days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday) upon receiving by our processing department. For new Maybank 2 Cards Platinum Cardmembers, finance charge of 18% p.a will be applied. The applicable tiered finance charges will only be effective until such time when you have the minimum 12 months repayment record with us."

just that i dont like the bold wording part. where the 18%pa will be applied. now i get 8% since i got good record for 12months.

if i upgrade, i need to make sure i pay promptly everymonth to avoid that 18%pa. hahha

btw, got any diff between gold and platinum  except for the complimentary insurance ?
*
i thought gold and platinum are having the same interest
anyway, interest rate doesn't concerning me much because i rarely spend a lot and always pay on time.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 12 2017, 04:51 PM)
To add on, I submitted three months latest payslip. That was back in early 2015, I believe still same process.

this should be remain now i believe

Yes, that's all. Plus it has a shared hotline with VS which I appreciated a lot but these days, it's not picked up like the general line. dry.gif

yes, they hv same interest. but hv diff tier

something like this:
Tier 1: 8.88% (for prompt repayment of 12/12 months)
Tier 2: 17% (for prompt repayment of 10/12 months)
Tier 3: 18% (for prompt repayment of less than 10/12 months & New Cardmembers)
please refer back to here
http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/M2C-Plat_PDS.pdf

so mean, ur will be reset back the tier 3 once u upgraded to platinum, this wat the Maybank FB told me.

Nope. I believe the 5% you referring is the cash back for dining on weekends.
Gold and Platinum are eligible for it.

If can qualify ma just upgrade lo. I'm not sure about you guys but for me this is how I keep track of my "card" progress. laugh.gif Just for Maybank, they offered me back in 2011 when this combo was first introduced and I got their Gold card, then I was lazing around in 2014 to upgrade to Plat but still did it in early 2015. Last year was thinking if I should apply for their VS since it has a whopping AF amount, hesitated a while but since Wise revised its benefits, I was like WTH just apply for it, at least first year is free. So now I have it and can use for groceries every day. laugh.gif

No right and wrong actually, just do whatever you want. biggrin.gif

The different between GOLD and PLATINUM is the complimentary insurance coverage ?

How it works actually ?
For example: flight delay more than 8 hours but the flight ticket is not bought through Maybank 2 PLATINUM Card, is it still entitled to claim the insurance?

No according to the t&c, your have had charge the travel expenses to your card, i believe for those for diy don't follow tours, must at least charge the air tix to the mbb...

PS: the only time i wish i had platinum (i am strictly not qualified) is when booking on agoda.com.

Yes, need to charge it on this card to be entitled for travel insurance.

Didn't know there's a difference in term of discount but these days many cards give 7% cash back too right?
