Anyone having this flare issue?

XDA forummer say it's due to bad IR filter.

1 quick question guys, any1 regret using their replacement unit and wish to use other brand or happy with the new unit?
*
In general no regrets. Explosion aside, still among the best all rounder.
Hope Sammy will continuously support the software update even if latest news about replacement unit have issue that lead them to AXE the note 7.
On another side, one day wanna change phone again the resell value surely very bad (assumptions) due to the explosion stigma.

check out 5min 20secs onwards...

Cue the late-night roasting from Colbert. "It’s like the old saying," says the comedian, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, ohmygod, my crotch is on fire."

You don’t have to be a PR professional to realize how badly this is reflecting on Samsung. You don’t need to have studied marketing to know that having your phone brand specifically called out at the start of flights as horribly unsafe is likely to have a depressing effect on future sales. Only pyromaniacs, contrarians, and dedicated Note fans are actively seeking out Galaxy Note 7s at this point.

Vlad is right abt the Note7...

and this...
QUOTE
The Note 7 situation right now is that the device’s resale value is probably destroyed, even for the replacement handsets.

Perhaps just wait for the next galaxy s8. Hehe.
Xperia XZ and V20 looks good. Or wait for Mate 9.

If one worry bout the replacement sets, i think one can change to other brands (not iPhone) as many other phones are better if not equally good as Note 7.
Meanwhile, i think the future software support wont be as good since Samsung suffered huge losses + the user base is too small (if Samsung decided to stop selling this phone)
Only my opinion

Ok.. if every Note 7 also has it then its alright. I'm just afraid I got a lemon unit.

Anyway, now we have got bigger problem. If the replacement unit also prone to explosion, then it's really time to give up this beauty. Sobs

Samsung issues statement on replacement Note7...

QUOTE
Samsung Statement on Replacement Note7 Devices

Samsung understands the concern our carriers and consumers must be feeling after recent reports have raised questions about our newly released replacement Note7 devices.

We continue to move quickly to investigate the reported case to determine the cause and will share findings as soon as possible.

We remain in close contact with the CPSC throughout this process.

If we conclude a safety issue exists, we will work with the CPSC to take immediate steps to address the situation.

We want to reassure our customers that we take every report seriously and we appreciate their patience as we work diligently through this process.

if it's really issue and they just tweak to minimise... that's still opening up to lawsuit coz that means they know there's an issue and try to hide it.

i dun think samsung that silly to do this. probably, they dun really know what is wrong...

Big companies would do it, especially to have better looking quarterly financial reporting.

Even if they solved the issue, no one would buy it. Many waiting for Note 7, in the end they will buy iPhone 7, S7, P9, etc, either cannot wait for Note 7 or for safety reasons. Samsung missed the opportunity to sell more. We hope that Samsung will buy back all Note 7 from market.

these days... not easy to get away which such things -- hiding the truth.

not to say Samsung is wrong. they have been good to admit outright in the first place and did the recall. but i think they may have rushed again with the replacement rather than do a thorough investigation

Perhaps. Myself may buy as long as meet my requirements at that time.
For me it's either Sammy or Sony.
One thing this issue happened, a big slap on Sammy face so that next round need to do better and perhaps a better pricing than before.
