HDR = High Definition Radio
Certain area is testing when it switch to HD it is super clear else it back to FM mode... however the FM mode decoding is very clear as well because it separate the sound very well too.

DAB= Digital Analogue Broadcast
This is a semi digital broadcast which they do not have those FM hiss sound and runs on high bit rate which is clear.

Added on April 21, 2011, 7:59 pmbro i just got my iBlue GM-2 and it can be set to 5hz and enable higher freq of GGA and VTG which is very high accuracy.... it can be flash to military spec accuracy which is up to 1 meter accuracy.

Okay.... i just found that we can reprogram GM-2 GPS become military spec.... accuracy from 12" to 2.5 meter..

1st get a iBlue GM-2 (not china GM-2)

Download GPSview 1.2.1 to program your GPS to 5hz

Note Garmin do not work on this unit if the baudrate is higher than 38600. The higher frequency the smoother it goes...

Connect the GM-2 and install the driver....

Fire up the GPSview


Follow the settings above

All is in $GP

GLL - Lat/Lon data
ZDA - Date and Time
GGA - Satellite Fix information
MCHN is a MTK NMEA sentence which shows the internal status of gps channels
GSA - Overall Satellite data
RMC - recommended minimum data for gps
VTG - Vector track an Speed over the Ground

The setting 1-5 is the frequency of data in sec. some set 5 some set 1 this is because i dont want to overload the data to RS232. Now the duty cycle should be 82%... dont try to push it to 100% else u will have a 232 crash and you have to recover the GPS using others software to init back the bootloader.

After setting.... click on the DGPS apply.. you will get WAAS Enabled....
WAAS is a GPS assistant which provide more accurate signal even indoor.

Follow all the settings above and click apply.

After u program it correctly, u should able to receive GPS indoor. (depends)

There is a bug on Windows 7 regarding on new GPS system especially running on 232 protocol command which the windows regconise it is a serial mouse instead a GPS which created your mouse cursor runing everywhere because of the GPS data pooling... after i have spoken with Samhrutha from Mircosoft we found a solution.

Important: The instructions below contain steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information view the article in the Microsoft Windows help article: Back up the registry:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Back-up-the-registry



i. Click on start

ii. In the search box, type in regedit

iii. Registry editor windows opens

iv. Navigate to the location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\sermouse

v. On the right hand side you would findstart

vi. Modify the value of the key to: 00000004

If you do not find the Start key then follow the below steps:

i. Right click on the blank space

ii. Select on the option New

iii. Click on dword 32-bit value

iv. Rename it to start

v. Right click on the key and select and modify

vi. Feed in the value: 00000004

vii. Restart the computer



Now connect GPS through USB and also with serial USB adapter and check the results.

I sold my old casing because my fren wan small one.... after that i try to buy cannot find edi hahahaha so have to use big one lor...

Shadap and listen to ur HD radio HAHHAHAAHAHHA...

Hehehe just the start up..... later u will have more fun.... after that u will never go back to normal head unit lols

2D is dual core.... if u see in precessing thread it should had 4 threading.... if urs is no 2D it should only have 1. Performance side lotsa different..

IPAD is useless in the car... you cant install Garmin or Igo or anything, you cant have Centrafuse either Riderunner, you cant change soundcard you cant add additional gadget like power management or install Emanage software or any any tuning software.... and lots more...

IPAD cant even start up its own when u start ur car...

It is a different category... Car PC is a Car PC you will not understand it until you have it.
