Wonder if should apply the Barcelona card now or wait a bit till ringgitplus got a promo for it. My insurance is paid annually (August month, yay!) so no rush, the misc. 2% is good but getting some lazada voucher or cash rebate for applying would be more worth it I think.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 11 2017, 10:53 AM) Usually if there is promo on RP, it is only for new cardholders. I doubt you are a new Maybank cardholder? Good point! Thanks sis

QUOTE(kian811210 @ Oct 13 2017, 10:55 AM) If i not wrong your CL after this VS approval is adjusted nearly 20k my case also same, gold 2 card to platinum 2 card increase 8k for me (10k to 18k) then last time get VS before increase 2k to me to 20k My CL didn't change, still at 10k for my M2Kard. Another 10k for my Ikhwan Mastercard though so maybe that explains it.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 6 2017, 11:02 AM) Yes, since there is no difference if I pay lump sum or monthly, I checked with my agent before. Wonder why my GE plan got price difference whether I pay monthly or annually. Currently paying annually, but if there's no difference I'd rather pay monthly....

QUOTE(eric84cool @ Nov 7 2017, 11:13 AM) but maximum spending encouraged to be set on RM2,500 since any amount exceed RM2,500 doesn't benefit for us. Actually if you want to set maximum spending you should set 5k or something like that, as you don't (have to) pay your bill exactly on statement date, and can continue to build up interest-free spending for the next 20 days....

QUOTE(caesarx @ Nov 7 2017, 12:40 PM) Don't understand what that mean If spend 5k only get max RM 50 CB = 1%, why ? BTW, received my FCB card today, should be fully used up all the CB next week on SG trip just by paying hotel Assume your statement date is 1st of the month. So 1st December you have a statement saying "pay RM2500 to Maybank". You can pay immediately or (like most kiasu people) pay 20 days later at 0 interest. If your CL is 2500, you can no longer use your card until you make payment, even though the new spending on 1st December onwards will earn you 2% (new month). Of course, if 20 days of interest-free cash doesn't sound good to you, then maybe 2.5k CL is enough....

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Nov 7 2017, 03:44 PM) Most of us here are also holding M2 Amex (5% rebate on weekend spends) which share the CL with FC B VS, so CL at RM5,000 is not enough, especially those eyeing for 0% Balance Transfer and reserve for emergency use. Agreed for all your examples. Especially BT, the higher the better. Although for emergency use I would prefer to use different card, because the amount can be quite large and I'd rather BT to spread the emergency use spending out rather than get some amount of CB/points but have to pay back in a month or so. Of course for those of us who are ALSO holding PBB/AEON.... different case =) In any case I've found MBB to be quite stingy in CL. I'm at <2x monthly salary currently (holding M2Kards, Ikhwan, and Barcelona).

QUOTE(caesarx @ Nov 7 2017, 05:54 PM) I see. i thought we are talking about maximum spending, not about CL. I assume everyone have over 5k CL here The topic was CL, hence why it was said that 2.5k CL is 'enough'. Which it isn't, if you're the sort to max every month.

QUOTE(laihuhng @ Nov 15 2017, 09:27 AM) I'm very certain that I'm meeting the criteria, I mean the requirement. QUOTE(laihuhng @ Nov 15 2017, 09:27 AM) Previously I applied through Maybank2u website but failed. Fail di, don't bother apply again before 6 months unless something has changed drastically. And income requirement is not the main factor, CCRIS and bank-specific risk criteria are more important (and not transparent to us). One very common 'reason' is PTPTN and its repayments.

QUOTE(laihuhng @ Nov 15 2017, 10:00 AM) So, means that I don't have to waste my time until after 6 months, right? If before 6 months, should be an appeal letter/email rather than just reapply, that one I would say is sure fail. I got my PBB Visa Sig by appeal after initial reject, for e.g.

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Dec 3 2017, 10:40 PM) Yeah, so if it is apportionment, I can just BT for one card. Better you apply 2k per card, then call MBB and ask them credit excess to your savings account. Also you could apply full amount to one card and call MBB and ask them to credit excess to your other cards.

QUOTE(sl3ge @ Dec 12 2017, 10:15 AM) May i know can we pay our car loan(maybank) by using maybank credit card? There is a 'jalan'. Some people offer service where you pay them and they settle your loan payment for you. Shopee has a few. This is a risk you take though.

QUOTE(chiahau @ Jan 19 2018, 10:23 AM) PBB don't care bout your salary one. They give it to whoever they want. My salary already exceed the threshold for their Quantum and VS. Applied for Quantum also not approved Since then I believe that you either have to be their banking customer or be very lucky to be granted those cards. But I got VS even though just below qualified limit (on appeal). I have a banking account with them for 3 years at that point, but just one savings account with no money (salary account, every month straight transfer out leave RM200 there). And my wife got Quantum Master/Visa without any prior banking relationship... I think sometimes depends your luck who process it.

QUOTE(joevo2 @ Mar 1 2018, 09:28 AM) I see interesting so I can have 2 credit card from different bank. Then I do full payment and do 0% Bt back and fort? Better you go to the balance transfer thread and ask. But basically if you spend one big-shot item (let's say RM4k for laptop) then after your statement date balance transfer (let's say 6-month to PBB or AEON) then it's as if you have 6 month installment on the item (and all other spending for that statement). From MBB perspective you still get all your points/cashback as per usual.

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Mar 2 2018, 04:01 PM) i have a purchase refund(3.5k) last month but they reversed the full CB RM50 i have other purchases at the same month which they don't count it as CB now Call CS to complain, should not reverse. Unlike other cards this one got no FCFS or similar provision that could result in no CB.
