To maximize the cashbacks, don't use Maybank FCB VS at the places that you already enjoy high rebate using other credit cards (eg Ikhwan Visa - Petronas, PB/UOB - Online/Dining, M2 Amex - Weekend etc)

yes, correct. I am doing car service this saturday. just nice can use it to save 10%. tongue.gif

If I pay utility like TNB, Internet & water via UOBOnline, how to pay in advanced so can enjoy 10% CB?
I need to key-in Account number & Invoice number, so how to key-in if I not yet receive the latest invoice ?

Buy online with discount voucher let's say RM25 + Shopback... so will get > RM125  thumbup.gif

I just found out the FC card cash back based on posting date not transaction date! My last swipe on 30th Apr was posted on 1st May, and for the whole May I already spent 2.7k.... :'(

McDonald, Bill payment such as unifi, KTMB online tickets all same day posting if it is done during weekday.

Transactions made in April but posted in May obtained 2% instead of 10%.
*
Maybe for this 10% it is based on transaction dates and not posting dates like the norm.

Sept CB capped at RM50 for transactions posted on 01-30/9.

so meaning the same amount of spending can earn two times rebates? (10% in August + 2% in September = 12%)

No.
Transaction.in Aug but posted in Sept @ 10%.
Transaction & posted in Sep @ 2%
But total CB capped at RM50.
*
QUOTE(David83 @ Sep 4 2018, 02:44 PM)
Meaning you can spend lesser than usual to get RM 50.
*
Is this correct?

Aug:
RM1000 = transaction date: August 31 and posting date 1 September = RM100 rebate?

Sept:
RM1500 = transaction date: 2 September and posting date 3 September = RM50 rebate?

if the above is true, technically speaking, it is correct that the RM1000 spending in August had earned 2 times rebate like i said.
since september RM1500 only earn rm30 normally because it is only 2% rebate.

the extra rm20 is still because of the rm1000 in August. so the rm1000 in august has earned 10% + 2% = 12% rebate in total.

i see. no wonder so many of you are trying so hard to transact at the last minute.

meaning that FCB card is looking at transaction date and not posting date for August spending?
but during non May or August month, it is looking at posting date for spending?

It means that let's say you spend RM 100 on August 31st and get posted into September, you'll RM 10 CB due to 10% rate from August rate.
In September, you just RM 2000 to get full RM 50 CB instead of RM 2500.
*
RM100 (August) + RM2000 (September) = RM50 cashback for September? shocking.gif

so my example above is not correct?

In summary:

1. Spend from 1 August to 31 August (up to approx 11.30pm)
- Cashback rate = 10%
- Cap at RM100 and falls within August quota

2. Spend on 31 August (11.30pm until 11.59pm)
- Cashback rate = 10%
- Cap at RM50 and falls within September quota

3. Spend on 1 September
- Cashback rate = 2%
- Cap at RM50 and falls within September quota

General principles:
- Cashback rate determined by transaction date
- Cashback cap / quota month determined by posting date
- Caps are fixed - the moment you hit quota for month, any additional spend is wasted
*
Thanks. This is much better explanation to date.

question now is 2) this is a loophole or bug?

Just curious, anyone is planning to request MBB to absorb SST charges on FCB?

For those who applied at the introduction of this card, the anniversary date is very soon. I know very well that the cashback earned outweighs the SST.
*
yes, no harm to ask. at least for bank like SCB has given green light to waive it.

SCB gave green light to waive? SST is collected by government, banks can only offer something to offset it and not waiving it.

obviously i am referring their own way of 'waiving' and not to waive according to what gahment collected.
