I feel you bro. Today i pay for McD through wall terminal, scan up n down left n right keep showing 'try again', my car is tall i have to stretch out like doing yoga, also worry my phone will drop.

Last last McD guy bring out the portable black terminal for me, scan once and done.

I notice 7e only accepts debit card if you gonna wave apple pay. Anyone tried master or visa?

Went my local senheng and wanna pay with Apple Pay (they have banner which indicate Apple Pay is available now and small card banner at counter)

When i told them "bayar dengan apple pay" while pointing toward the card banner. The staff like "black man question mark" then ask her colleague.

Then colleague also dunno then cincai tell me "belum ada sini"

If not ready then they shouldn't put out the banner - " We accept Apple Pay Here " in the first place.
Such a big banner placing there and still not educate after 1 week + ?

Senheng should have no problem understanding what apple pay is since they got apple pay banner and that small card banner at the counter. Moreover, their name are mention in apple malaysia website as one of the supported merchant. With all that, it is not wrong to assume that they should know what apple pay is. This is more of a problem on the merchant side.

For me I can understand the need to mention paywave instead of apple pay on shop  that doesn't put apple pay banner or are not mention on apple malaysia website officially. But if the shop put a banner and become blur about it, well that is problem on their side.

AFAIK only “major” banks will participate. Overseas one which have small customer base like UOB, OCBC, Citi etc. not going to participate *at anytime*.

Can't say for Petron, however I have tried at Shell using Maybank Debit Visa. To my surprise, the RM200 pre-auth was instantly refunded upon filling up, and the actual amount was charged right away. Interestingly though, the transaction in M2U shows up as "Sale Debit" in All Transactions, but not in the Debit Card history (which shows other AP transactions in detail, such as merchant name).
