QUOTE(Joseph1203 @ Aug 11 2022, 08:12 PM) Apple Pay arrive next i hope membership app code can add to wallet like ikea, boost Starbucks and more, now can add in by pass4wallet but 3 party app no secure really hope member app code can add into wallet Really dislike Pass2U, I have been using MakePass to create unsupported Apple Wallet passes. More secure compared to Pass2U as you keep all the pass templates in Apple Files app, only disadvantage is you have to pay. Though I personally would spend on it as it’s a very high quality app (looks like an app designed by Apple). I have created several pass templates, could share if you guys want. Guys, by any chance anyone knows when Wise would enable Apple Pay for Malaysian issued cards?
Would be really convenient to use on foreign public transport like in Singapore and the UK when travelling. |

QUOTE(megustatu @ Jul 1 2023, 11:22 AM) I don’t think they’d even do that since the same thing could have been achieved by implementing open payment system. And I’m by no means any sort of “insider”, I’m just telling whatever I witnessed so far. I doubt TNG will implement a virtual card like Sucia has implemented. I remember going to Singapore and most people would use contactless payments once it has been introduced. People there rarely use EZLink or NETSFlashPay, unless they have no phone (unlikely), want to separate transport spending or want to use concession cards (in which they get a discounted fare compared to regular fares). If Singapore's prepaid card providers are unwilling to support, I highly doubt Malaysia would be any different.EDIT: Why so? Cuz it’s simply not worth to pour in the time and effort to develop (and yet have to let Apple have some take I guess) the virtualised TnG card which again only limited to just iOS users. Ngl you can still expect a slim possibility of seeing TnG visa adding support for AP, but definitely not the old TnG (welp just my guessing, again). |

QUOTE(soitsuagain @ Sep 5 2023, 07:49 PM) This style is following Samsung pay. Such an inelegant way of using paywave functions on phones. Yeah the NFC antenna for iPhone is on top while for Android is the centre of the phone. Looks so inelegant when making paying like you said. For Apple Pay, you only only have to hover the top back portion near the reader. And please hold the phone vertically is good not horizontally. |

Anyone have any idea when will CIMB support Apple Pay and will they support only credit cards or with debit cards?

Recently managed to use my Wise Card on Apple Pay. Works so seamlessly from public transport usage to boutique shopping, so convenient.
Tomorrow would be around a month left before CIMB overshoots their Apple Pay release for 2H22. |

Guys I have a question, can a merchant reject payments with Mobile Wallets (Apple, Samsung and Google Pay)?

QUOTE(dannytwk @ Dec 5 2023, 09:31 PM) Actually u dun need to mention Apple Pay specifically, just told them paywave. Coz not everyone know Apple Pay just works like paywave. I know, I mentioned paywave but said I need the physical card; they don’t accept Apple Pay. The waiter told me in a restaurant. Can they do this? |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 5 2023, 09:38 PM) Yeah I always mentioned paywave as I assume not everyone is tech savvy. But this restaurant server said they explicitly said they do not accept Apple Pay. Can a merchant do this? |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 5 2023, 10:39 PM) No need to argue. When they take out the terminal, just scan with your iPhone/Apple Watch and give them a smile after that. Bruh, I literally said that they don’t even allow me to make the transaction. They forced me to use my physical card. Guy knew I wanted to use Apple Pay but said cannot. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 5 2023, 11:45 PM) Then just accept or leave it. No point arguing or reasoning with them. I never met this kind of merchants before. So no comments on how to react. I only met some didn’t know such thing exists and they were surprised when I paid with my watch. They said they learnt something new. Yeah agreed, just annoyed because imagine if you only brought your phone that day and no wallet. I guess don’t need to pay lmao. But in all seriousness, I noticed that another restaurant that the staff are always friendly to me and gives me a free drink, uses the same bank terminal as this merchant as well. Are there banks in Malaysia that are anti Mobile Wallet (Apple, Samsung and Google Pay)? |
