Guys, I've been hunting around for a decent 4k camera mainly for YouTube. Been hearing a lot of good stuff about the panny g85 but why is it so hard to find one nowadays?
*
Maybe it's because it already got replaced with the newer G95 so it's more difficult to find the older model liao

My 14-42 pancake EZ looks like got issue, it just does this dance when you turn on and shows "check status of lens". Need to turn on and off twice for it to fully retract. Consider RIP?

On the plus side, decided to finally get the 25mm prime to try and revive the camera that's severely underutilized.

Also, does anyone know where to get those usb rubber flap for my EM10 mk1? It broke off and wife accidently threw it away.

This has to do with the focus ribbon inside the lens either being loose or just outright spoiled. If you already do intend to RIP it, can try to DIY it yourself.. if you're still looking for a pancake zoom, the panasonic is a little bit better of a lens but somehow way more expensive.

the 25mm f1.8 is a gem of a lens. Not the most versatile walkaround lens but the IQ and FOV is really wonderful.

Unfortunately the pancake zooms aren't cheaper... would much prefer if they hovered around the RM400-RM500 range. I love pocketing my camera in my pants with the pancakes. They're relatively dark and their IQ is nothing to write home about... just have to say that I love the 12-32mm panny though. Struggles obviously indoors/low light but I do appreciate the mechanical zoom and just got to work around that smaller aperture.

I highly recommend you try to fix the ribbon issue yourself IF you are indeed gonna bury your lens. I think the ribbons are quite available online for chips if it needs replacing, if you fail to fix it, well you were going to bury it anyway.... devil.gif

Anyone interested in a used Panasonic Leica 15mm f1.7? Great for low light. Selling it off for RM1300, price still negotiable. smile.gif DM me!

Just curious if anyone actually pulled trigger for 12-45mm F4 to be paired with EM-5 series (mine is mark 2).

What is your opinion on it? I would love 12-100mm but the size on EM-5 will be too massive to the extend that i wonder if it lens mount would be able to handle the weight of it?

I have 17mm 1.8 and 45mm F1.8 and looking to see 12-45mm can be all in one solution in places where lens change is not possible.

Sound like a good idea to be honest. Was toying about this idea for sometime but had other priority in line.

Do you had such set up for your kit?

Also, wonder if they will be some kind of fire sale with Oly malaysia closing shop and transfering the distribution to YL camera. confused.gif

i am using 14mm pancake on 1 body and another 45mm on another body.

pros: 2 bodies using same battery model can share with each other, camera setting optimized for each lens, easy for me to batch process in pc (although u can sort by focal length la)

cons: if need to lug 2 cameras on neck then not nice lo. unless like mine using pancake with epl is barely pocketable, if gf or gm series maybe better.

i always wanted to get a ricoh gr2 or 3 to combo with our 45mm…but less passionate nowadays. some more use phone for wide angle more convenient.

if u r really into 1 body 1 lens…maybe 12-40mm f2.8 better?

My set up em5ii, 17mm and 45mm f1.8 were from those unusual deal during the mco period.

Both of your camera set up i assume is epl from your reply?

Ah got it, welp cant see any good deal for em5 Mk2 (which i think its the most value m43 at the moment as long not doing sports or super high iso photog).

About the 12-40 F2.8, i have to agreed it seems to be the better choice than 12-45mm f4 other than the small size. I got impression more used copies of 12-40mm in the market too.

Too bad the 12-100mm will be massive on em5ii.

I kinda of not willing to spend too much $$ on m43 on pro lens considering how thing are going on at this point of time. console.gif

If size seems to be of primary importance and price a close second...

... then the Panasonic 12-32mm pancake is a stellar lens. only at the longest end you're sacrificing 1 stop of light. (this is if you're comparing it to the 12-45mm pro). I can't say the IQ will be similar though obviously... especially at the 32mm end which I would have to say isn't particularly nice... if IQ is your primary concern, then don't go for the 12-32mm.

The portability of the 12-32mm though is incomparable. I plop it into my shirt pocket and I don't even have to bother with a bag. I use it only if I need to go wider than my 25mm f1.8 which is sufficient for my needs in every 9/10 shots.

It's not cheap for a kit lens, but not pro lens territory at least. hehe

i am on ep and epl.

few years back i would recommend 12-35mm f2.8, the size is smaller than oly 12-40mm f2.8, and guess what…rm2k only for the new lens from the seller who de-bundle the pana GH4

and the new oly 12-40mm is hovering rm3k plus minus all the time.
