I was running through review about OMD M5 Mk III and decided to look at Olympus Malaysia's website. It enlists the body as in stock @ RM1,200. Tried to purchase and see if they would honour the listed price alas whistling.gif failed. It said not available in country

Seeking advise from sifus ....

I owned a PEN-f with 17mm, 45mm 1.8 and a 12-40 mm pro lens. Thinking of adding another body to pair with 12-40 mm. Was looking at EM5 ii which now on offer at RM1999. Mainly used for travel and street photography. Appreciate some views from sifus. Thanks

I traveled with em5mii + 1240 all the time.
It survived sea wave splash, dusty volcano and wet cave.
The size, weight and weatherproof make travelling fun again.

My only complain is the battery live. So I brought 5 of them when I'm travelling.

Was contemplating between em5m2 or em5m3. But the price for em5m3 is almost touching em1m2. It’s crazy. Might as well grab a new em5m2 while it’s still available.

I cranked up to 6400 to shoot a monkey with my EM10 mk2 and it's fur is all fuzzy lol. Will limit the max iso at 3200
*
I actually tried to do comparison before, and for me these are my threshold:

If I want clean pictures, I would go 800 max.
For regular / most times, I keep it below 2500.
In a pinch, I would go up to 4000 max.

Still thinking 45mm 1.8 next or 75mm 1.8 next  hmm.gif
45mm too near to 12-40mm but 75mm not so versatile.

There is always the 56mm f1.4. 😁😁😁

New lenses from Olympus!

user posted image

QUOTE
Olympus added info about three new lenses:

    – 12-45mm f/4.0 PRO
    – Telephoto zoom lens (no specs)
    – 100-400mm f/5.0-6.3 IS

Official press text:

We are pleased to announce three lens model updates to the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital Lens roadmap, including the addition of the ultra-compact M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-45mm F4.0 PRO and super-telephoto M.Zuiko Digital ED 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 IS lenses. We have also added a PRO series telephoto zoom lens. All lens models are compatible with the Micro Four Thirds® System standard.

These lenses are in addition to the previously-announced M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm F4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO super telephoto zoom lens. It features a 1.25x built-in teleconverter and covers a focal length range of 300 – 1000mm (35mm equivalent). The combination of this lens with the MC-20 2.0x teleconverter makes handheld super telephoto shooting possible at 2000mm (35mm equivalent).

With these new products Olympus will further expand its telephoto lens lineup, maximizing the advantages of the Micro Four Thirds® System, including excellent image quality, compact lightweight systems, and superior image stabilization performance.

12-45 pro? For what? Kan dah ada 12-40

And I doubt the size gonna be any smaller if they're putting it under the PRO line

Still speculation but Robin Wong speculate it's f4. His reason are there's holy trinity f2.8 lenses in Canikon DSLR lineup, which Olympus already have, AND there's trinity f4 lineup as well, so Olympus will fill the void.
Hopefully more compact and friendlier price tag.

I don't care on above 3 tongue.gif ( already have 12-40 pro, 40-150 pro, that 100-400 is not pro range )
but really eyeing that wide zoom. Looks like direct competitor ( in terms of focal length range ) to Panasonic 10-25mm. If 7-25mm f4 with friendlier price tag, oh take my money biggrin.gif

Pelik bin aneh.

Was hoping for 1.8 primes that are PRO and weather sealed, lighter, smaller and cheaper than 1.2 series.
