Whoa! Why need a ultra-wide with a huge opening/ultra fast lens? I can think of night shots only, in which case you will still end up using 2-3 stops further to get the sharpest opening.

But a ultra-wide lens with an ultra-fast opening is damn cool man, if they can achieve it the lens must be damn large size  rclxub.gif  laugh.gif

Super super bright, ultra wide and dof not that thin even at f095. That's great for lowlight indoor video to bring down the iso especially.

And that's what the Voigtlander 10.5mm f0.95 does for me.

Next lens for me to get is either mitakon 42.5mm f1.2 or kamlan 50mm f1.1. I'm not sure which one.

Quite pricey. Around rm 3750.

But decided to go with f095 road to deal with Low light instead of metabones and sigma.

And no regrets. Focus peaking working great and smooth manual focus rings make it a joy. Voigtlander feel so well made and so so smooth when compared to mitakon. Mitakon still smooth but feels like got sand grinding inside the ring when compared to voigtlander.

But had to get that voigtlander 10.5mm needed and bright wide lens for dark indoors. The others have not made a f095 ultra wide focal length lens. Mitakon dont have either and their widest is 25mm.

Hmmm. Should I save money to buy Leica Elmarit DG 8-18mm or just go buy Laowa for my wide lens? Any thoughts?

Laowa, if you're planning to exclusively shoot landscape, since you don't really need the AF and theres no Dual IS 2 advantage for this category.

Otherwise, the Oly 7-14mm 2.8 is a much better choice, this coming from a hardcore Pana fanboy lol

the thing is about olympus, there is no filter thread on it, for videographers like me, that's a bummer as i have to attach matte box to put a ND filter on it. So i scratched that off from the beginning. I love how sharp is the Elmarit DG 8-18mm, and i can put my ND filter on it.

Laowa have several issues, the focus ring isn't as solid and the build quality sometimes incosistent, that's all the negative i read.

Decisions, decisions.

Thanks for the input! Was also planning to add a wide-angle to my collection.
Been shooting in mostly 25mm so far.. Planning to go more into landscape photography.

Aside from the manual focus for the Laowa, what are the drawbacks for this lense as opposed to the Oly 7-14?
YLCamera selling it for 2.1k. Half the price of the 7-14mm.. Very tempting blink.gif

I don't have the Laowa so I wouldn't know haha. meamth posted the drawbacks for Laowa, so maybe you should look for a shop that carries it and try touching it for yourself

bobds78 has this lens too so maybe he would give a better idea on that lens
