I don't use 17", but I've ridden in fiesta with 17" wheels. Ride is really bumpy rclxub.gif mind you the car is on stock suspension.

Guys,

Does anybody know where I can get this Side Skirt Bracket for my FF MK7?
Recently changed the Side Skirts but now I'm missing 2 on the driver side.

The shop said they dont have such bracket and they couldnt find any in their shop.
Suspect they must've thrown it away during the installation.

Thanks a bunch.

Guys, a bit of gear usage question...
For 1.6S with DCT, the "L" what gear is it, 1st or 2nd? Or will it shift between 1 and 2?
And while in "D" when you turn of Overdrive, does it stay in 4th or 5th gear?

When turn off OD, the highest it will go is 5th gear.

L is not limited to 1st and 2nd gear....when u shift to L the gearbox will only upshift when you hit redline. I don't know if it is limited to 5th gear or 4th gear or whatnot, because by the time you redline in 3rd you are already going 120kmh, and redline in 4th you are almost 170kmh laugh.gif

I have only used L twice...once to test it when going up genting, the second time I used it in traffic jam to stay in 1st gear. It actually works and reduced the jerk and judder when driving in the jam....until the car throws up a transmission fault warning light muahahahahaha

Thanks. Was afraid to test the L earlier.

I notice this car changes gears often at slightest speed change. No judder or anything just that I can hear the engine tone changing.

There are very little reasons to use L, other then going down very steep slopes where you need maximum engine braking.

The transmission is adaptive, meaning it is constantly learning your driving style. If you are the normal, slow and easy type driver, it will upshift at lower RPMs and more reluctant to downshift, so to maximize fuel economy.

Conversely, if you are the fast and furious type, it will hold lower gears til higher RPMs and downshifts more easily. The drivetrain as a whole becomes more responsive and the shifts are more crisp.

Clutch replacement?

Yea PJ SC all new ppl, my last visit was not pleasant.

The new SA insists my car only has 3 years warranty and has no knowledge about the 2 years extended warranty. Luckily I brought my EWP booklet and show it to him.

But in the end as it turns out....steering intermediate shaft is not covered under EWP laugh.gif

All these wear and tear items can be claimed once within 3 years or 60k km whichever comes first.

Hi guys,

Please recommend me a shop that can change my brake pads and brake disc around kl area for a decent price.

I don't mind travelling outside of kl if the price is decent.

Any estimation how much it will cost to change the brake pads and brake disc ?

Any brand to recommend or just go for any brand?

Thank you.

Wow. Thanks man !

Just got off the phone from one of the staff there.

He quoted me RM700 both for brembo aftermarket brake pads and disc plus GST and etc

They do really advice and tell you everything in details about their products.

So far very good already their service. Can't wait to see them next week as I've already make my appointment with them.

Thanks again ya.

It jerks less but still not as smooth as conventional auto in traffic jam. It depends on your driving condition, do you always get stuck in the jam or mostly clear traffic? If you are not in a rush better wait for the mk8 fiesta.. should have a larger interior space compared to the current gen ones and updated with better quality materials and fresh design

Buy Mazda2 lor. Then feel the overwhelming sense envy and regret whenever a Fiesta Ecoboost zoom past you tongue.gif

Oops laugh.gif

Just kiddding. Mazda2 is a perfectly fine car. Downside being it's a bit pricey for the specs offered.

Hi everyone, sorry to hijack the conversation.

I just got a new fiesta a few days ago. and I feel that the fuel consumption is slightly high. The calculation is @ 9.2 L / 100KM. Is this normal or will the engine readjust itself after a few times?

Mine is regularly 10l/100km biggrin.gif

Just drive it for a few thousand km to see if there is any improvement, and remember to reset the avg FC gauge everytime you refuel.

Yours is 1.0 ecoboost? Actually 9.2L/100km is quite normal for me la. Mine usually ranges between 6.4 to 9.8L/100km. If highway cruise I can get 5.7L/100km and that is by driving not exceeding 100kmh. Anyway after first service you should see some changes in your FC.

Ps: Mine is 1.6s

No lah mine is high because my trips are usually short taman stops, plus my golden right feet.

If you do a lot of highway you should get 6-7l/100km thereabouts or lower.

Welcome to our humble lowlife car thread flex.gif Like I said in the PM's , I travel at least 80KM per weekday and when I don't feel like hooning, I get about 7.5L/100km. When hooning up Genting, I can reach up to 10L/100km rclxm9.gif

Like Dares said, for highway and driving civilly you should be able to get 6-7L/100km, however with the car's great cornering ability, you'll soon forget that you wanna save fuel and you'll blast around the corners thumbup.gif If you wanted the good fuel economy, the 1.0L Ecoboost would've been better albeit the slightly higher price and different driving dynamics

Depends on your definition of "giant"

Fiesta get 10~15k discount, for a car priced 90k, that's 11% ~ 15%

Fiesta ST get 15k ~ 18k discount, for a car priced at 150k, that's 10% ~ 12%

Sorry to say, that seller is lying. If indeed that model as shown, it's 2012 and before. Hence it wouldn't be 998cc, but 1.6L Ti-VCT as stated in the beginning. And it wouldn't have turbo, because it's not an Ecoboost variant. Basically this seller doesn't even know then car, so my advice is don't buy from this seller. Next thing you know he tell you that it's a Fiesta RS 5.0L V8 Ecoboost laugh.gif

RM45k is more like a 2012-2013 1.6l Fiesta.

I suggest you look for another dealer, this one seems to be quite liberal with his facts.

so how guys ? biggrin.gif

just before leaving next month to cherating kuatan for vacation i thought i'd do a little service on the car today.

this is my first time changing the break disc and pads since purchasing the car at ford in late 2012.

as you can see its already 52,343 km in milage on the receipt.

after servicing i then drove the car back home in the wet and heavy rain and so far so good.

oh and another thing, f*** the GST. thank you Mr. MO1  ranting.gif

Not so easy. Last time I claimed my brake pads, I asked for my old ones back, they SA said cannot because claims department must receive the faulty part before approving a claim. This was at Penchala SC, maybe if you know the SA really well, can kam ching kam ching so can get back your old part

Hey guys, I've been driving my Fiesta 1.6 sedan since Dec 2012. Love the car to bits.

But the warranty will be ending late next year, and I'm worried about gearbox replacement (if rosak) after the warranty period.

Have any of you guys stuck on with your car after the warranty period is over? Or got any lobang to replace gearbox cheap2. Frankly I would still want to keep my car, just scared my wallet can't tahan haha.

Buy a new Fiesta laugh.gif

The gearbox itself should be robust, just the clutchpack will need replacement (RM4k-5k depending on where you go). If your TCM fails, it is covered with 10 year warranty....as long as your continue to service with Ford.

You still have more than 1 year warranty, whatever you want to claim, better claim it soon.

Haha, I wish I can buy a new one too. Especially, with this type of deal (2015 Fiesta). Looks quite tempting. But, commitments are getting more as I age and times are also not so good. Trying to cut spending wherever possible also.

Hmm, where did you find this info? I only have my EWP letter which states that warranty is up to 5 years.

I was afraid of transmission failure after I saw this figure from the spare parts price list on the thread front page. If need to replace this then gg.

Yes, you can request for a clutch slip ratio test, it the test fail (slip ratio over certain threshold) they will replace for you.

Else, some other member able to get replacement after manja2 with SA

FYI, I never heard of anyone broke their transmission laugh.gif

Haha ok, good to hear that. Based on responses here, I think it is safe to keep the car beyond the warranty period hmm.gif ?

If regular maintenance and a few occasional mishaps won't break the bank, I'll definitely be looking forward to keeping the Fiesta for at least the next 3 to 4 years thumbup.gif .

Try look for owners who want to sell instead of used car dealers. You can ask the owner in person the history of the car.

If you are so unlucky that the transmission itself break, find a half-cut/reconditioned unit would be much cheaper. Else just convert to manual biggrin.gif

My car is 2 months older than yours, I got a letter about the warranty extension for the TCM, so I believe yours have also. Try calling SDAC customer service to check.

A little bit of vibration is normal. The engine mounting is a wear and tear item, over time the vibration will increase until u kenot tahan, then you'll need to replace it.

hiseh man everyone looking down on drum brakes.
when you lose hydraulic pressure drum brakes will save your life as it need less pressure due to built-in self energizing effect to brake.

Normal service - RM300 liddat.
Major service - RM1.6k to RM2k
Clutch - RM4/5k iirc
TCM forgot how much.

Only problem is the gearbox.

TCM about same as clutchpack 4-5k. slightly cheaper IINM.

Just to be sure, the TCM is not a wear and tear service item. It is supposed to last the lifetime of the car.

I own a 2012 Fiesta hatchback, changed clutchpack and water pump once, both under warranty. Maintenance is around RM300 for regular oil change every 10k km. Most expensive service is timing belt and accesories belt replacement, around RM2k.

Expensive wear and tear items most you can buy outside which could be cheaper. The only wear and tear item that you cannot lari from around RM4k is the clutchpack....you buy from Ford or outside shops it is almost the same price.

Check the service record of the car before you buy. Inspect the undercarriage for fluid leaks, particularly at the gearbox housing. If there is a leak at the gearbox housing then 100% you will require a clutchpack replacement (gearbox leak was a prominent problem with earlier batches of Fiestas).

There is a parts price list in the first post of this thread, you can refer to it for most major items (excludes labour). The list is a few years old but as far as I know the current prices are just slightly higher, so at least you get a ballpark figure how expensive parts will be.

Have you decided on what pads to change to? Currently using Icer pads. It requires some warming up, and produce quite abit of brake dust (not as much as Bendix Metal King), besides those points, these pads seems quite good and doesn't brake fade anywhere near as fast as the stock pads would.

CrazyAyik uses Brembo pads on his 1.4LX, maybe he can give his review

Just FYI, intellectual rights do not apply on non-specific, generic items (stuff that are special, one of a kind, such as architecture, sculpture, paintings is exclude)

So by right, you need to consent from the maker of the film, to allow it to be published.

Went to do my balancing and alignment and ended up changing my brake pads at the shop. They only had Musashi brake pads though. Anyone have experience with these?

Guys wanted to ask some advice, how much can i sell my fiesta ecoboost?

2013 make bought 2014 mid of the year. White colour.

Mileage about 77k

No accident at all, not even minor bumps just some scratch on front bumpers during parking

No mechanical / electronics issue with the car so far, serviced on time at Ford.

He says: that time got a batch of 2013 car, old stock from other countries (Thailand?) , all white colour only

RM8500 off from retail price tag and instant ready stock.

If other colour, only RM2k off and need wait 1 month

Don't mean to doubt, but can you open your bonnet and snap a picture of your engine bay with the front bumper within frame? Just wanna confirm if you really have the 1.0 Ecoboost. If so, expect around 50k if you're lucky

lol bro no need to do that laugh.gif

it is 1.0 ecoboost. I test driven both when i was buying and the difference between NA and FI is obvious.

It is on my vehicle owner ship card, registered in Ford's system as well.

the car was launched in Thailand end of 2013. So they might have made some to prepare for the launch in Malaysia in 2014.

As long as the car is manufactured towards the end of 2011, or a 2012 car to be safe. Look for a "airbag" label at the passenger side dashboard, and that version will also have steering audio controls like the link you showed in your previous post.

The later 1.4LX with 7 airbags also have airbag labels on the roof lining, not sure about 1.6LX, you can check that too.

have to go and take a look
- usual driver and passenger (front airbag)
- under steering, near knee, check for srs logo (knee airbag)
- passenger and driver seat, check for srs airbag logo sewn into the seat (right side for driver, left side for passenger)
- rear passenger, check on top of the left and right door roof lining, should show srs airbag

or just ask seller to snap pic for the seat / rear passenger roof lining.

put 7 airbags, but no oh-sheeeeet-bar/handle ranting.gif ranting.gif

Have you decided on what pads to change to? Currently using Icer pads. It requires some warming up, and produce quite abit of brake dust (not as much as Bendix Metal King), besides those points, these pads seems quite good and doesn't brake fade anywhere near as fast as the stock pads would.

CrazyAyik uses Brembo pads on his 1.4LX, maybe he can give his review

If buy from battery shop, do i need to send car to the service center to reset the ecu? Today, my car cannot start already. Yesterday already give some hint since need to ignite a few time before engine is running. If go outside, what battery model is good for fiesta including price. Thanks

The size is DIN55L, should be anywhere between RM250-350 depending on brand.

if you by from Ford SC it will be around 500 including labour and GST.

If you decide to change outside, do keep your original FOMOCO battery just in case it comes in handy during warranty claims in the future.

The engine malfunction warning is disappeared after a while but for the stability control warning light is keep turn ON until i reach my destination. The only things I realize is the power of the engine is not as usual. When i put extra force to the paddle the warning light is appear. Any advise for this issue or do i need to go to SC asap for checkup. This happen after one week plus changed the battery. Is this related to the battery or what? Never face an issue before this. blush.gif sweat.gif

If you change the battery outside at cap ayam shop, then they may have short circuited your TCM/PCM. With as little information that you gave, my suggestion is to go to the service center soon. They will take you in and do the diagnostics, provided you be patient since you don't have an appointment.

2011 1.6S ford fiesta owner here..

I will be hitting 150,000KM mileage for next service appointment..
As I read online, this is the time to change the timing belt which cost about RM260..
So I called up SC for service appointment and to change the timing belt.. but SC advice me to change all in one package including water pump, aircond belt, some kind of timing bearing which will cost about RM2000++ including labour..

so my question is do I really need to change everything in that package or just change the timing belt?

SC advice the labour cost remain the same either I change just timing belt or all.

kindly advise..thank you

If you have not change them before (timing belt, aircon belt, water pump etc.), now would be a good time to change it. 150k km is kinda late for timing belt replacement too.

Anyway, how is your car after 150k km?

If you're in lembah klang area I would advise to do outside as it is cheaper. If you haven't change any ( belts & water pump ) . Now is a good time.

To change fiesta timing belt is at least 700+ for the timing belt kit without labor. So when you add in those water pump, air con belt plus labor is close to 1.5k+ doing it outside (if you can source for a good deal).
During timing belt change where they remove certain components make it easy to access the water pump so might as well.

Total from RM2000++ to RM1600++ including labour..

I'm not sure if it's considered a wear and tear item by Ford, but it will definitely wear over time. You can ask to inspect the pump when they change the belt, if the water pump pulley is in good condition (a bad pulley may damage your new belt), it is not leaking water and the bearings are not making weird sounds, then you can opt not to change it. It's up to you.

150k km i advise to to change the water pump together with the timing belt.
the bearing or gasket/seal is going to fail soon.
better change it now than do double job and waste time in the future.

From what I can see....need to replace Fender, headlamp, bumper, should be around RM3k-4k with paint and labour (Just the spare parts without paint and labour should be around RM2k). If paid for by yourself can be done cheaper kot.

Claiming insurance just bring to any trustable workshop, if you don't have any, just bring it back to Ford PJ or Jalan Ipoh.

Guys, I recently started hearing this grinding sound when i drive slowly about 20kph. Can't really make out but passengers notice it too. Have you guys experienced this before and can it be fixed?

It's like grinding whining sound. I'm just afraid it's a major problem. But so far I've been driving with it for 2 weeks and car no issue except for the sound at low speed. It's annoying.

The noise occurs when car moving. Stationary car is silent as crazy. Slow acceleration. Not brake I think. Because I let it roll slowly without applying brake the sound still persist.

*
Wow nice info. Is the 2k timing and accessories belt replacement done at SC? Or is it some workshop?
How long is the interval to replace the timing belt?
Is the manual gearbox reliable?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, as I really interested in one too. smile.gif

RM2k belt replacement is at SC. At outside workshop, depending on what you include in that particular service, the price can range from RM800 to RM2k (timing belt, AC belt, water pump, rocker cover gasket etc. etc.). You can do the timing belt replacement anytime from 80k km to 100k km. One of our member here did it at 120k km, but not recommended to wait so long as by the time he changed it he found his old belt to be cracking quite badly.

The manual gearbox itself should be bulletproof.

well i can say better than stocks but i cant put it exactly due to new shocks since i changed my rubber as well on the same day

combination, i think its better, i like to drive with some feedback from the road. KL-JB-KL last week on thursday, pretty much impress with it tho to some it might be slightly harder than stock.

Check the absorbers for leaks, and if it has become very noticeably bumpier than before then it's time to change.

Clutch replacement....4-6 months is the norm, depending on which SC you sent to.

Best bet is to use a heat gun/hair dryer to slowly heat up portion by portion and slowly lifting it off. Then take some sort of wax and grease remover to remove the residue, then give it a wax to restore the shine

After almost 6 years, I was advised by Ford SC PJ to replace the battery for the next scheduled service. Any good aftermarket battery that you guys can recommend me? Or should I replace it with Ford SC recommended battery? That OEM battery lasts almost six years already. My car already clocked 75000km, For the next scheduled service @ 85K, I was also advised to replace
1- V belt RM570.70
2- timing belt RM244.13
3- Front absorber RM416.30
4- Tensioner RM417.27
5- Battery RM420.00

Holy crap your battery lasted 6 years? you sure SC didn't quietly change for you in the first 3 years under warranty? (mine did, didn't even mention it in the invoice).

the timing belt replacement/Vbelt/Tensioner can be done any time between 80k km to 100k km, the earlier the better.

Front absorber I believe that is price per piece, you will need to replace both sides at the same time. Your Fiesta is which model? 1.4? 1.6? sedan?

Battery, you can request for a battery health check, they should provide you with a report slip on the battery health.

I believe all those are just parts prices, not including GST or labour.

Mine 1.6 hatchback
yes, my battery was the original one ,they checked the service/waranty record and confirmed it was never replaced during the three year warranty. Battery health check report indicated 33%.. i thought of stretching it further to the max but the technician advised me against it since he said it is more than 5 years and i was 'lucky' it lasts that long.

I was also informed (cant confirm whether true or not) there will be a campaign to replace the clutch for those who have already replaced it during waranty. I was made to understand replacement batch is better quality and improved design. Those in the list will be notified by their respective mode of contact

Hi all, I just came back from my CNY break and couldn't start my car icon_question.gif it was parked for 7 days in my condo car park prior.

When I ignited the car for the first time, mcm weak battery then after few attempts to start again, the brake pedal resisted and engine light & battery light were on, together with engine oil light ( noob lady driver, tak tau pape ). I called the Service Centre for help so get him to check whether I still entitle for another free battery since it's still under warranty, I replaced the first one in August 2015. He said yes so arrangement were made so I go fetch him from SC to my place, it was nearly 5.45 pm. Already prepared to pao him one Ang pow for helping then he called, probably off work d so he said will come tomorrow morning to inspect, however battery was out of stock. I asked him when restock and he said no idea.

Can I ask all sifu here anyone claim 2 batteries under warranty before? If we only entitle for one piece, where is the best place to get it? I understand that our battery is not the same size from the other car with similar capacity. That foreman said if it's really battery prob then he can't do anything because out of stock , I need my car to work. Please advice..... cry.gif cry.gif

Oh then the front absorber is cheaper than I thought. Anyway our battery size is DIN55L, should be anywhere between RM250 - 300 if bought outside. But make sure the person replacing the battery knows what he is doing....there were instances, although rare, that an improper battery replacement fried the TCM.

My clutch is scheduled for replacement next week. I'll see if the SA knows anything about the clutch recall.

Your car is 1.6s or 1.0 Ecoboost? For 1.6s & 1.5s the battery type is DIN55L, outside shop should cost around RM300 below. For 1.0L Ecoboost you could ask SC for the battery type. However please be careful when replacing the battery on your own. As the TCM could throw a warning light and cause it to go into 'Limp Mode' which will make you unable to shift gears properly.

Sigh, SC told Me out of stock, I checking batteryshop.com.my also out......

I'll see if the SA knows anything about the clutch recall.

thanks for the info.. thumbsup.gif I guess now I have to google for guide/tutorial the proper way to replace the battery for my model

There isn't any special way....it's the same as any car.

But for other cars, if u screw up the procedure you might just get a huge spark....for our car..huhuhuhuhu

*
six years? damn thats a long time for car battery usage.
normally if it can last 4 years your very lucky already.
average the lifespan of the car battery is 2.5 years.
most probably they put in wrong battery for you and gave you the marine type battery.
those are known to last for 5 years.

looks like timing belt set change is rm2k if include waterpump.

6 years, wow that has to be a record. seems that you seldom drive your car might be the contributing factor too.

seldom drive can kill the battery also.
sulfate will build up if the battery is not charged regularly.

on average for 6 year old car and 75k km mileage = 34km per day. the word should be short distance driving rather than "seldom" but 6 years? wow! impressive

Quite pricey.....

Try to look for VARTA (OEM for most of the continental cars. For example, Mercedes-benz and BMW)

My friend selling DIN55L for RM300 (I bet you can't find it elsewhere)

I think "seldom" should be the right word smile.gif For the past 5 years 8 months (it will be 6 years this June) she only drove it once a month to south Johor and singapore. She just like to use the car for the 'balik kampung" 700-900km roundtrip..The handling, size and feel is perfect according to her. Now I think I have to replace the battery as soon as possible since I dont want her to face any problem

Hi guys,

I've been reading ur discussion since few days. Currently I'm in a plan to get a car. I got two choices VW Vento (brand new) vs Ford Fiesta Ecoboost 1.0L (test drive unit in Penang, manufactured year 2013, registered on May 2014). The millage is 5K ++. And it's still under warranty (5 years from May 14) according to the salesman.

The new vw vento is 87K OTR after rebate and fiesta (test drive unit) is 68K OTR

After reading ur discussion I'm abit afraid to get the fiesta. Advice me? Thank u. smile.gif smile.gif

Which discussion?

And why get a test drive unit? There should be 2016 new stock with discounts. Personally, I would advice against buying test drive units....some customers test drive quite ganas.

yea the brand new 2016 got rebate 12K, after rebate is 89,500 OTR. I think the test drive unit suits my budget. But afraid of the clutch problem.

Do note that the test drive units will be very mistreated when test driven. Since you know about our clutch "problem" (it's not a problem, it's a by product. I can explain further if you want to), do know that test drivers would more than likely be creeping slowly to test the suspension setup. Or you'll get people like me, will drive the car super duper hard until the SA tells me to chill abit and the brakes start to smoke (test drive car would really be unlikely to have done it's proper 500km break-in period and also SA wouldn't bother warming the car up before handing over the keys, so you connect the dots)

The SA sitting in the rear (sitting in the front passenger seat was the test drive marshal) not wearing seatbelts and without any roof handles, he held onto the door for dear life while sliding left and right on the rear bench laugh.gif laugh.gif

Errr.... the new model should be entering our market next year, if you can wait that long.

Yes get a new car if you can, else second hand Fiestas are quite affordable as well due to the low resale value, try to find one with warranty left.

I'm in the process of buying a new FoFi Ecoboost and am able to get a 16k rebate so its rm77k although theres only 2016 model and I dont think they have a 2017 one(probably because of either the facelift have been around long enough or a new facelift on sale by end of this year or next.

Most of the issues have to do with clutch wear and tear as well as TCM health. Your primary concern is the age of the car.

Check the car plate number against SDAC service records, I have a feeling the mileage may have been tampered with. Make sure all scheduled services are done on time, again check with SDAC to see if the TCM warranty is intact (should be 10 years)

Lastly, prepare RM10k in case of wear and tear replacement, the most major being the clutch which costs RM5k+ to replace. Timing belt replacement service will set you back 1-2k. absorbers 1-2k....etc.

Look for used cars, not test drive units. I'm pretty sure there are relatively new used 1.5S out there within or near your budget.

There is a small square cover on the base of your shift knob (near driver side). Open that cover, pulas the notch. That will release the shift lock.

Ello guys...I've been eyeing on a FoFi 1.6 Hatchback for a loooong time. Unfortunately now all also 2nd hand...price is like 30-40K. Wanna know what problems will I face for a nice car like tht? Maintenance, repairs....fc... etc...can guide?

Remember, the Fiesta uses a dry dual clutch transmission. Slightly jerky/unpleasant low speed driving (<50kmh) is a characteristic of the transmission. As for other pointers, please read last few pages of the previous thread, I think I written before. Sorry, busy now so can't find for you

Recently my 2 years + old Fiesta had coolant leakage issue

I sent to PJ1, was told the water pumps koyak. Told me replacement can be done in a day. Was happy to hear that.

Hours later after sent to PJ1, called me tells me out of stock & need to wait for one month.

Then ask me to recollect the car and can continue using it just top up coolant daily.

I ask the service advisor, top up coolant daily? One bottle cost about RM10-RM12. Who is going to pay for a 1 month supply of coolant if everyday need to top up one bottle?

He goes: er....nvm can top up with water?

I was like what? what if it rusted and causes improper cooling in the future? Later Ford voids my warranty how?

He goes: nvm we bear full responsibilities!

Thing is, how can i guarantee that?

Truly fcuked up

So I type an email and send a demand to expedite the water pump delivery also demands for FOC daily coolant/reimbursement for the buying of coolant.

Let's see what they say.

if everyday need to top up one bottle coolant then you have very serious leaking issue liao. I won't drive it if it is leaking until a bottle a day.

To be precise, the actual element doing the cooling is the water. The so called "coolant" is actually antifreeze and antirust chemicals that also raises the boiling point of the water. You cant't pour pure "coolant"into the car unless it is premixed with water.

So its OK to top up water abit, as long as it does not dilute the "coolant" too much (as long as it is still orange-ish, not become totally clear).

Alternatively u can try other SC like Penchala or Seri Kembangan, maybe they have stock.

but SC told me i can go ahead with driving it by monitoring daily thats why i was like dafuq?
Shouldn't the SC check all branches nearby on behalf of me?

or they just check their own branch inventory only? rclxub.gif

Depends, PJ1 is under SDAC so they can only check branches under SDAC. Those branch managers also wanna keep stocks for themselves.

Dealer SCs like Penchala are not under SDAC and operate semi-independently, so their inventory are managed by themselves (although they still order from SDAC).

I'm planning to use the car for about 3 years. Should be ok right? What are things i should be aware and what's the problem i might face buying this test drive unit? (May2014 5k milleage)

The new fiesta is gorgeous. I really like the tail light. The interior also nicely design. Read that the space inside is bigger. Head room and back seat has bigger space.

Well actually they can be considered competitors in some way since it's not under the same company. Takkan they send you to their competitors laugh.gif

Seri Kembangan branch has been good for me so far....even clutch replacement waiting period was less than 3 months (could've been earlier, but some technical problem and other issues delayed the process). But like any Ford SC, you need to follow up with them frequently.

You are really degil laugh.gif

when test drive, pay attention to excessive jerks or judders at low speed. See if the suspension is too bouncy when crossing bumps. when steering at low speeds check if steering is smooth or have any clucking sound.

check the undercarriage for any fluid or oil leaks (except aircon water, that is normal after driving with aircon and usually near the passenger side firewall). check engine oil, brake fluid and coolant level. Check absorbers for leakage. Check tire condition. You can google sample images how these things look like.

These are the things you should pay attention to for the fiesta. For other aspects, you can google how to inspect used car.

Yes I know right. Let me rethink again.

I'm not really interested in other b-segment car especially japenese brand like vios, city, mazda2. Because currently I'm driving nissan grand livina (family car) but I'm the one using it. We don't have plan selling it.

From ur point of view, do u think buying brand new (2016 model) is worth it since they might launch the new model end of this year or earlier next year. I can't wait until year end tho.

I managed to find a dealer giving me 87K otr for the 2016 model. With full package tinted and so on.

87k for 1.0 Ecoboost? its a decent deal. See if you can squeeze more. New car with new warranty and free parts, any day better than test drive car lor. Worth it or not depend on your needs....if you plan to sell 3 yrs later, don't expect to get much money back for it. Resale value wise, it is a far cry from the Japs.

Mazda2 is nice to drive too like Fiesta, but too overpriced. Bermaz is also very kedekut with discounts.

Yea mazda2 it's quite nice to drive. Tried my cousin's before.

Let say I buy the brand new. Everyday use in town, traveling very seldom. Drive like normal not so rough and tough.

What's the duration likely I need to do clutch replacement or any other major service?

If I don't really need to fork out money much during the free service period, ( 3 years or 60K milleage) I can go for the brand new. Atleast I can drive with peace of mind.

Yes 3yrs free service everything is free. just leave your keys and pick it up when it is done.

Clutch durability....I cant say for sure. same driving pattern, some change once a year, some once in three years, some 5 yrs never changed, some drive til 200k km also changed once only. Depends on if you know how to drive in a way to minimized clutch wear during heavy traffic. Ecoboost's clutch seems to be more durable compared to 1.5NA. But one thing is for sure, driving hard and fast wears it less than driving slow in traffic.

The clutch is wear and tear thing. So it doesn't included in the free service? When the car judder too much it means the clutch have to be replaced?

Changing the clutch is depends to us or it's like memang have to change?

Mostly depending on you. if judder til beh tahan then send for claim lor. If jerk and judder til kenot move then no need say liao.

Clutch is under the 5 yr warranty. replacement approval is subjected to approval based on a clutch reading test, ie: the slip ratio must exceed a certain figure then only can claim. It kinda differs from SC to SC.

Dont worry about the questions, in bolehland buying a car is a huge commitment, so better safe than sorry.

yup. saw the 2017 fiesta on the net.
wider and longer body so interior space should be bigger.
also it has moon roof from the pictures?
styling also has evolved. looks way much better.
also no more dual clutch it will have conventional auto gearbox according to the the website.
they also added 8in infotainment system and collision detect with auto braking system.
they have a few variants. looks like we will have to wait and see what variant Malaysia comes up with.
most probably they cut and here and there and sell us the same price.
i hope they have not compromised the power and handling though.

Twice, once when the TCM confuse momentarily whether I wanna go or stop during traffic jam....the second time was me hitting a pothole, the impact was so strong the transmission when into neutral momentarily. In both instances I lift off and re-apply throttle and it goes back to normal.

Tomorrow will be my second clutch change. 4 years 4 months, 50k km.
Twice, once when the TCM confuse momentarily whether I wanna go or stop during traffic jam....the second time was me hitting a pothole, the impact was so strong the transmission when into neutral momentarily. In both instances I lift off and re-apply throttle and it goes back to normal.

If happen while your car is cruising and happens often, it's a sign of TCM failure. Get it checked ASAP.

hoho maybe lor....our TCM memang sensitive to battery health. and 3 years battery life sounds reasonable. You can gaet your battery health checked at SC.

yup. saw the 2017 fiesta on the net.
wider and longer body so interior space should be bigger.
also it has moon roof from the pictures?
styling also has evolved. looks way much better.
also no more dual clutch it will have conventional auto gearbox according to the the website.
they also added 8in infotainment system and collision detect with auto braking system.
they have a few variants. looks like we will have to wait and see what variant Malaysia comes up with.
most probably they cut and here and there and sell us the same price.
i hope they have not compromised the power and handling though.
*
For sure they will cut those gadget when arrived in malaysia. Current fiesta also they cut a lot of things.

I think i am quite lucky. Kinda.

84k but never change clutch. Judder is minimum. Happened but not all the time. Only when the wheather is hot + stuck in really bad traffic jam.

In this sense i am lucky. But in another sense my car kinda bad luck too.

Going 4 years. Every year got minor accident. Pfffttttt!!!!

forgot to ask the guy there but i was wondering if this is covered by warranty? and if not, what's the price of the replacement?

Is your sister a car person? if not, better look for other options. The car needs a bit more attention and patience compared to Japanese, if she is not a car person, she won't appreciate the car enough to forgive its shortcomings.

if she is just looking for a car for commuting, stick with the japanese makes.

Which SC is this? You could try asking other SC. If your car no more warranty, outside workshop would be cheaper. Last time I did for timing belt change cost rm1.1k excluding waterpump.

Is it still under warranty? What's wrong with your steering?

One this is for sure though, get your brake pads elsewhere.

somewhere area PJ... I already ask outside workshop since no more warranty and the price is RM1500+..much more cheaper the the SC price.
