Samsung never learn. Your new Note 7 replacement will be a rush product too.
*
personally, i dun think it's rushed job. as others have said and i also mentioned... in the case of battery, hard to tell since this is not really a design issue but rather manufacturing QC. usually find out when sth happens...

or sth gets discovered during random sampling.

Seems like many of my friends gonna ditch Samsung and going for other brands especially iPhone.

In my opinion, iPhone specs really catching up with Samsung.

By the way, I not Apple fan. Only Sony and HTC fan.
*
lolz... no need to declare which camp we're on.

but ya... i saw the new iPhone specs and it seems impressive. price wise... in USA, the 128GB 7Plus is so close to Note7 pricing.

Remanufacture the whole phone and resend to worldwide within this month looks quite rush to me. No?
*
manufacturing of the phone parts is on-going... it's in production all the time.

the parts are all in a warehouse somewhere. just waiting to be assembled and shipped out.

in this case, they probably identified the cause (maybe a bad QC batch of controller chips for battery, or battery itself had contaminant which they can then clean up the plant's assembly area).

so, wait for new batch of batteries... and then send out.

from first reported case, I'm sure Samsung already started investigation. and very sure when cause possibly identified, corrective actions already taken. the 2+ weeks is probably so they have enough time to assemble and ship out.

lolz... my opinion (for discussion sake only):

Note 7 lacks stereo boomsound speakers as Note 7 still uses single mono tune soft speakers - speakers can be louder, agree. but whether stereo or mono... i dun really care coz if i watch movies, i prefer to use headset anyway.

Note 7 lacks metal unibody build which is more durable than using glass plastics panel and attracts a lot of fingerprints - what i was told... metal means can't do wireless charging... or not so effective.

Note 7 usually gets slower Android updates by around 4-5 months than HTC 10 - agreed. i wish if they are slower, they have more competent ppl. example: with CM, they sometimes patch vulnerabilities even before Google.

Note 7 still a bit lag when you try to slide over left to read Briefing News (Flipboard), but HTC 10 when slides to Blinkfeed, there is no lag (it just like this Blinkfeed is part of native Android build) - sorry, i totally dun use this. i feel both briefing and blinkfeed is like glorified widgets. i prefer infinite scrolling which i am surprised Samsung left out.

Note 7 still uses the right "back button" in which I feel that it is not ergonomics. (only my opinion) - i like it on the right side... hahaha...

Note 7 uses Amoled screen which is too saturated and make colors unreal (only my opinion) - i like amoled. i love it over the other screens. but i know this is individual preference.

Both HTC 10 and Note 7 camera is good and excellent. Both scores DXO mark 88.

Just compare to my current HTC 10 for example

Yes Note 7 has water resistant and S-Pen, but who uses it daily?
I got Sony Z2 previously and I don't even wash my phone more than 3 times in a year as I always keep my phone clean.

For me I am not a fan of wireless charging.
It charges more slower than cable.
You still need to place it on the charging pad, it only save you one step by not plugging in your cable.
And bringing a charging pad on the move with you is way more troublesome than bringing a cable.
So I will still opt for more durable metal build than wireless charging.
*
i was skeptical abt wireless charging but after getting to try it... i really love it.

i leave it on my desk and when i am back at my desk, just put the phone on the desk. can also use that to charge my phone while i watch movies, etc... since you can place the phone sideways too.

charging speed isn't an issue for me. it's not that bad. speed is still quite decent.

but ya... different ppl, different preference.

i personally dun like metal coz it attracts scratches. i actually like those plastic like back in Note 2 days. i miss those... smile.gif

Just received call from Samsung, remind me to go do replacement at the place where I collected it at 29 Sept.
I asked is there due date for this replacement and he said for time being no.
My unit is fine. The only trouble is I need to find a spare phone to transfer data and use while I doing replacement. And transfer back after replacement. Time consuming.....
*
some stuff... just check into microSD.

that's what i am doing.

others like apps, i just install essential one on my temp phone.

but i did a backup using the Smart Switch apps for PC. supposedly can back up apps and also homescreen settings, etc... i guess i will know at month end when i restore... and see how useful is this Smart Switch for PC.

but ya, not all apps can probably get restored properly.

good info for all...

QUOTE
The science behind exploding phone batteries
http://www.theverge.com/2016/9/8/12841342/...g-galaxy-note-7

That’s what went wrong with the Galaxy Note 7: the separators were flawed and let the two electrodes touch. “This is considered the worst possible failure because it will most certainly lead to fire and possibly even an explosion,” says Archer. When the electrodes come into contact, all the energy being pumped into the battery goes directly to the electrolytes in the middle instead of in the electrodes on the side.

basically, charge or dun charge phone, the risk of catching fire is there...

further in the article, it does explain why fast charging can also add more risk to it.
