QUOTE(brandonkl @ Sep 12 2016, 05:57 PM) Source of your 70% affected? Most news report. less than 0.1% affected by the battery issue. less than 1% is number of reported cases. batteries from that Samsung subsidiary.. it's in 70%n of shipped phones. only batch not affected is the one with battery from outsourced factory in China. batteries from this factory seems to be only for China, Hong Kong and Macau Note7. you can Google up the news..

QUOTE(CyberKewl @ Sep 12 2016, 05:09 PM) bored with all the news on exchange etc. trying to add something new for those who don't know: With our note 7 - you can plug in and read/write to an external 2.5 hdd if you format it to exFat (using the OTG cable): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoJZ8XVmvugI've tested it and it works wonders. Useful for doing backups (using Helium/SmartSwitch) interesting.. I guess now got enough power out from USB port to charge devices.. cool! I wonder.. what formats can the phone read.. I might check it out myself later...

QUOTE(CyberKewl @ Sep 12 2016, 06:22 PM) that'll be exFat ntfs? fat? coz I do share media between laptop, phone and tv. iinm, tv can't read exfat. my previous phone could not read ntfs. or sth along that line... what a pain it was for me. since Samsung now partner Microsoft, I wonder if it includes ntfs licensing...

QUOTE(Bomb7 @ Sep 12 2016, 09:11 PM) The problem is deadly, and more much serious than what Samsung announced. All defect phones must stop using and destroy immediately. http://bgr.com/2016/09/12/galaxy-note-7-recall-explosion/destroy? looking at nick and language oh..

QUOTE(lllllx3 @ Sep 13 2016, 10:42 AM) may i know they ban is for current note 7 or they forever ban even after replacement? no one knows for sure. 1. there's no way to be certain all note7 is recalled 2. airlines will wanna be safe than sorry and can just put a blanket and permanent ban. 3. then again, how can they tell what phone is what? maybe users need to voluntarily declare and if dun, can be fined or kicked off plane... or sth... again... no one knows for sure and above is just hypothetical.

QUOTE More than 70 Samsung Galaxy Note 7 batteries have overheated in the UShttp://www.theverge.com/2016/9/12/12897250...ed-states-casesMore than 70 Galaxy Note 7 smartphones have overheated due to defective batteries in the United States alone, the Canadian government has indicated, double the number of worldwide incidents the company had previously reported. those who have been quoting low percentages may wanna 3x the number now... still low, but it's going up...

QUOTE(rajlesta00 @ Sep 13 2016, 12:41 PM) you dont read newspaper is it? they found an issue with the battery and corrected it on new batches. consider settled lah. considering the event is supposed to be 19th to 25th... and new batch for Malaysia is only on 29th and that is only the replacement batch and not even the sales yet. many can't help but wonder why then still have a roadshow? Note7 as it is... due to the issue... is getting enough publicity.

usually event venues are booked weeks to months in advance. in this case, the recall caught everyone off guard and Samsung may not have had the time to cancel booking.
i believe if cannot cancel, they can still do roadshow to promo... maybe Gear VR or Gear2 or sth...

QUOTE(ceras @ Sep 13 2016, 01:41 PM) aiyah...you think Samsung have only 1 thing to sell meh? The event could be for another model or purpose...eg samsung pay errr.. there's mention of Note7. but ya, it's just a "title" and i believe if it goes on, Samsung can easily change to another product.

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Sep 13 2016, 04:28 PM) For people who surpised to see their numbers are on the list. What do you expect? Samsung already said ALL phones (except China units) must return. Of course your number is on the list lah. The imei check site is for people who already get the replacement unit but still feel skeptical about it, so they can check online to prove that the new set is genuine. it's amazing to see Malaysians who think just because they don't encounter boot loop and phone didn't explode on them, then they are safe. they don't understand the issue and the term "walking time bomb (waiting to explode)"..

more a joke..
maybe it's a sign that Samsung need to re-brand the Note series..
after all... there is already a Note 8.. a tablet launched a few years back.
so Samsung don't really have a name for next year's model.. heh heh..
