Then this tire is certainly out of my consideration list already. I corner faster than that using my F1D5 last time and now CSC5 and not yet screeching leh.

QUOTE(cooljik93 @ Aug 8 2017, 02:39 PM) this tyres was in my comparison list too. But now, seems like getting more and more negative reviews. Seems like my choice to v12evo2 is right. haha Yeah I think V12E2 is still better than this one. At least from the reviews on the web it got some positive ones especially in the dry (in the wet I read that the V12E2 seems a bit twitchy though). |

QUOTE(mytaffeta @ Aug 15 2017, 08:09 PM) for myvi using mex most of time, average speed 90-120kmh.. better get this tire or michelin ps3? difference about 20 ringgit per donut.. Better get PS3 coz the difference in price is not so much, yet PS3 is very much proven as a very good all rounder tire already, especially excellent in aquaplaning resistance while this Fleva has so many mixed reviews, mostly not so positive/doubtful actually.for those already change to 2nd set, how far this tire can tahan? |

QUOTE(nestum @ Aug 17 2017, 11:58 AM) so far the Fleva V701 feedback are positive from my side This comparison review by Autobild unfortunately doesn't look good on the Fleva and the aquaplaning resistance was especially highlighted as very poor while the overall wet & dry grip also low. It came out only 19th out of 20 tires tested! of course there are few negative feedback , but considering their driving style are extreme , V701 really not enough for their usage the advantange of these tire are Wet Grip and threadlife (better than RE003) and most important the pricing (15" not the cheapest but 16" 17" 18" 19" do offer very competitive price ) most negative feedback comes from the Dry grip which not Fleva strongest thing but Wet grip and lifespan are what normal road user needed the most especially Msia road condition and with these kind of price range really cant get better tire than V701 so personally will highly recommend this tire as a upgrade for most user ! of course u might think i promote these bcos im selling them but this are my personal view if u have PS4 budget then go get them , but if u dont have then fleva is one of the best Mid price UHP in the market . http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2017-...r-Tyre-Test.htm |

QUOTE(nestum @ Aug 18 2017, 08:01 PM) personally went to test this tire on proper place , and it out perform their main rival (RE003) on the wet , and the difference is huge! Autobild should have some credibility in their reviews, at least better than nothing at all and just our non professional gut/butt feel. I think the best tire reviews so far is by Autoexpress UK which also still comes from Europe. The only issue maybe is that their test environment (climate and asphalt) is different than here in SEA but since there's not much other more credible reviews then still better to just read those European reviews. Unfortunately yes, most of the time Yokohama models do not come out as good as expected in any of those reviews, except the AD08R. so im quite confident on the wet grip for fleva while no one tells me about the comfort level cos we dont expect a UHP tire to be comfort i wont fully trust european market review especially Yokohama for some reason generally their rating are low (no idea) btw , what UHP tire will u recommend if u have rm300+/- on hand for 215/45/17 ? we all know PS4 , CSC6 , F1A3,Pzero are good top of the range tire but these are not budget friendly tire and they only come with 17" or 18" and above how about same sizes like 15" 16"? if what i will recommend will be hankook ventus v12v2 that similar to V701 been selling this before V701 come out price vs performance factor is what we consider the most and buy the tire according to ur driving style (and budget also) For smaller 15' sizes, I would probably recommend as below in ranking order: PS3 F1D5 RE003 or V12E2 (this one I'm not entirely sure which one better yet. I suspect the RE003 would be better in the dry while V12E2 slightly better in the wet but having said that, based on some reviews the V12E2 can be a bit tricky too in the wet. I'm considering to try these 2 along with S1 Evo 2 and of course PS4 in the future for replacement of my CSC5). If 16' then similar to the above with the addition of PS4 at the top, maybe also CPC6 in the mix later. |

QUOTE(nestum @ Aug 18 2017, 10:11 PM) PS3 15" price still ok , 16" not really cheap It's a pity if GY MY gave up on the F1D5 coz it is a good tire. It should be slightly cheaper than PS3 in 15' which I think is still fair enough because it is also the closest tire that can compete head to head with PS3 as an all rounder well balanced UHP tire with pretty good lifetime too. I have used this tire before until totally destroyed and I was also fully satisfied with it, no regrets.F1D5 i think goodyear malaysia give up on this , not many store carry them cos the price might be same with PS3 for 15" RE003 the good thing is dry grip , wet grip and life span really thing that let down this tire , plus the price 2xx for 15" not cheap V12E2 (this one I'm not entirely sure which one better yet. I suspect the RE003 would be better in the dry while V12E2 slightly better in the wet but having said that, based on some reviews the V12E2 can be a bit tricky too in the wet. I'm considering to try these 2 along with S1 Evo 2 and of course PS4 in the future for replacement of my CSC5). v12e2 15" less than rm200 , is the cheapest among the list , feedback are positive for the price. not the best tire but u can u get 18" in 3xx? v12evo2 can with these performance offered thats y we compare the performance and price as well , currently my store will recommend PS3 , V701 for 15" UHP the tire review compare v701 with f1a3 , csc6 really not a fair comparison cos they on different league Yes I know the RE003 would not last long. Good to hear if the V12 Evo 2 is also decent, seems good value for money. Do you also carry the S1 Evo 2 for 17' up? Hmm in that Autobild test, they also compared it against other supposedly just mid range tires like Michelin Primacy and BS Turanza and yet still the V701 cannot beat them too which is rather disappointing since the V701 carry the Advan name and positioned as already UHP tire. Btw it was compared with the new CPC6, not yet CSC6 coz CSC6 is not available below 19'. CPC6 is designed as UHP and replacement for the CSC5 & CPC5 together in 1 model, trying to combine the best qualities of both, so it should be fair comparison with the V701 too. Btw from that test, the other interesting one is the new Falken Azenis FK510, should also be a good value for money. Just haven't seen or hear anyone sells it in MY yet. |

QUOTE(Bourne @ Nov 13 2017, 04:19 PM) Depends on where you go. I got my 215/45/R17 yesterday at ED Tayar in Shah Alam. I know some other shops which stocks them too. It's true that the plant in The Philippines caught fire but that was in May and from what I read it resumed partial operations within a week. How much did you buy for that size? |

QUOTE(Bourne @ Nov 14 2017, 05:47 PM) I found out about ED Tayar on Mudah actually. I was interested in the Achilles ATR because it was cheaper but the guy said some driver said it was noisy. The wife prefer the new set to be quieter. Her car and she's paying for it so we went with Fleva. Yeah I already noticed also this ED tayar shop, advertising very competitive pricing. I'm also looking for tires for the wife so considering to check out this place too.If you look at Mudah there's a shop in Setapak that has 205/50/16 for RM310 but last month's ad so not sure if still in stock. https://www.mudah.my/Yokohama+Advan+Fleva+V...re-51954410.htm Will write an early review in a bit |

QUOTE(Bourne @ Nov 15 2017, 11:09 AM) Early review for the Fleva in 215/45/R17 on the wife’s Mazda 3. (200km+). The traction rating is actually for wet, not dry.Previously we’ve used the Continental, Bridgestone and more recently Silverdolf on the Mazda. The Silverdolf was because the shop that the missus went to before recommended it to her and she decided to buy it. I was unhappy at first because I never heard of the brand - apparently it was under Silverstone/Toyo. However I was pleasantly surprised with it. The grip dry and wet was good, no aquaplanning but my wife said it was loud. Because of the way we both drive we needed something with good grips in both wet and dry conditions and her requirement now is a quieter ride. The Silverdolf lasted about one and a half years and it was time to change all the tires. We went to ED Tayar in Shah Alam after looking through Mudah for the tires that we were interested in. We narrowed it to the Achilles ATR Sport, Goodyear Excellence, Yokohama Fleva and we were also considering the Michelin PS4. While we are there, the Continental MC6 was also thrown in the mix. We both knew the Michelins were very good but were unsure to spend that much (RM1,600 for the whole set - still cheaper than other places though). I really liked the Indonesian made ATR because I think it was very good value (RM800) but according to the guy, some drivers said it was noisy. So that turned the wife off. Both the ATR and Fleva had the same dry traction rating of AA but the Fleva had better threadwear if I’m not mistaken. So it was down to either Continental MC6 and the Yokohama Fleva. My experience with Advan tires was that their wet grip are not too good. But we decided to try it anyway. While neither of us are racers, we are not Sunday drivers. As the Mazda is a great car that likes to be pushed to it’s limit we feel it does need a decent set of rubbers to go with it. So the last few days we have been driving throughout mostly in dry conditions and a few damp conditions. The first thing we noticed is that the ride is much more quieter - I used to listen to the music in the car at 8/9 volume but now we can keep it at 5/6. The ride feels more comfortable and less harsh. But this could be maybe because the tires are new. We are very happy with the grip. I haven’t feel the car giving away. I’m sort of looking forward to driving in heavy rain and see how the tires will handle. All in all initial observations are good and we are happy with the purchase but these are early days. |

QUOTE(sg999 @ Nov 21 2017, 07:23 PM) 195/50/15 Hmm strange coz my steering just now was pretty steady but yeah I haven't tested above 120kph I suppose. However my tires are much wider than yours so usually should experience worse aquaplaning but yet it was steady. Note that I hit the puddles square on ya, not with just 1 side coz of course if you hit just 1 side, it will always pull to one side no matter what tires you use.For my ride, below 60 is decent. If hit deep water level above 80-90 i can feel it my steering drag one side. Even worst if i drive at 120-130.Have to hold my steering TIGHT. The feeling just like the speed of evacuation of water not fast enough. I could't find this issue on my previous continental premium contact 2. I agree though that CPC2 should have better aquaplaning resistance coz it has a lot more cuts to channel water out but at the expense of dry grip coz CPC2 is a mid-range comfort tire similar to Michelin Primacy while this V12 Evo2 is UHP similar to PS3 category. |

QUOTE(sg999 @ Nov 21 2017, 07:41 PM) Yes, your size is wider but ur car should be heavier than mine. Yes, the CPC2 has more cuts especially on the side blocks which help water evacuation further but as I mentioned will be at the expense of dry grip especially during hard cornering as the weight transfer relies on the shoulder blocks to maintain grip. That's why UHP tires mostly have bigger outer blocks for this purpose. So it will offset the imbalance. Anyway, i could't find this 'pull one side' issue on my previous CPC2 even i hit one side. In addition, CPC2 has wider aquaplaning channel compared with V12 even it came with 4 grooves . (CPC2 only 3 grooves ) -For my size. Meanwhile, the grooves did connect to sidewall and this add another space to evacuate the water. However, the disadvantages is CPC2 too noisy and V12 has lower noise compared with it. [attachmentid=9362344][attachmentid=9362345] At the meantime, any recommendation for my next change? Below is my choices: PS3 Kumho HS51 P1 cinturato verde Advan Fleva V701. Surprising also that the CPC2 is noisy, it's supposed to be comfort mid-range tires after all! In that case other than good aquaplaning resistance, this tire actually does not have much else to offer, isn't it? Out of your choices, no brainer go for the PS3 if still available though. It's UHP tire with excellent aquaplaning resistance (you can see the tread cuts also quite a lot especially for a UHP class tire), should be matching if not better than the CPC2 in this regard, yet it should trounce the CPC2 in dry performance. The main weakness of PS3 is it will chip a bit more when driven hard. Kumho, I would stay way from it coz I never heard any good reviews or feedback form ANY Kumho tires! For Korean tires Hankook is top dog, much better than Kumho or Nexen. Pirelli P1, that's just entry level comfort tire, maybe similar to CPC2 or even lower! If you want to go for Pirelli mid-range tire, at least go for the P7 (but not sure if available for your size). V701, got mixed reviews, some here says decent but pro reviews in Europe says it's bad especially in the wet! So I'm not sure about this, but my guess it's not better than the V12 Evo2, maybe worse actually and the price is more expensive too. Have you checked out the Goodyear F1D5 though if it's available for your size? If it is, then this should come second to the PS3. I've used this before and pretty happy with them, but it also has chipping like PS3 when driven hard. |
