Thanks for the feedback. Might consider them if i need to change tires on my other car.
Me and another friend used the Hankook V2C2 and didn't like them, he's complaining it wear too fast. For me, it was lack of grip and sidewall stiffness

I think I will try the S1N2, read positive review on it and got quoted RM40 cheaper per tire for it.
I'll post my feedback after some km traveled.
*
V2C2 is mid-range tire, that's why grip not so good. Sidewall stiffness, well if want comfort then sidewall cannot be stiff, something gotta give.

S1N2 is entry level UHP so 1 class below the V12E2, so the grip also will not be as good but surely it will last much longer (TW 500 vs TW 320 on the V12E2). V12E2 is very similar like PS3 basically, just slightly better in the dry and less noisy.

Yeah, can't have them all... that car of mine is using Yoko Advan Neova AD08R (still the best tires i ever used) previously, but way too expensive for the wallet.
It's now on Maxxis Victra I-pro... good tires this (so far)
*
AD08R is extreme category and sidewall stiff coz got steel inserts there, dry grip is surely excellent but wet especially on heavy rain should slow down coz not much water channels. It also will finish very fast, even faster than RE003 I think. Definitely not suitable for comfort. biggrin.gif

Yeah, many said that about the AD08R (bad wet grip and wear fast)

But I find it has excellent wet grip (not driving in the track of course lah..), very even wear rate which make it last much longer than my other tires.
*
It think wet grip without puddles should be ok but if water level a bit much then aquaplaning should be more pronounced, is it? I mean compared to normal UHP tires like PS3 for example which is well know to have excellent aquaplaning resistance. How many km can they go on your car?

Depends on what you prioritise...

I want a comfort uhp and Fleva outperform PS3. For just pure performance, PS3 maybe better. Fleva screamed a lot when being pushed, while PS3 just understeer cool and calm. If I'm looking for performance only, the CSC5 on my wife car is miles better than both.
*
V12E2 should match V701 comfort and would give better performance too.

Yes CSC5 is an excellent tire, actually can still almost match PS4. Try the newer Extreme Contact Sport, even better than CSC5.

My case also bald outer thread a little bit... Means my pressure not enough? I pump like to the limit of the car manufacturers at door indicate... Usimg v12... Camber -0.2
*
Bald on outer usually caused by either a bit too much toe-in or your like to corner a bit fast. If under inflated then the inner tread is also wearing out faster, not just the outer.

I guess cornering? My toe should be ok... Inner thread ok, outer abit wear compare inner

Ya, alignment looks ok, so should be because you like to corner a bit fast, putting more load on the outer treads.

Have been using advan fleva V701 on my ride 235/40R18 for about 25000km
Tread life still about 40% and now looking for new tyre to replace this.
Here is my review:
Dry handling is superb. Better than PS4 i use previously.
However in wet handling is opposite of PS4. Wheel spin all the way.
There was once i almost crash on highway.
Heavy rain and i was crusing at 100km/h. Suddenly my front wheel just loose traction and start to spin!!!
Luckily that highway is 3 lanes and no other car nearby.
From fast lane spin and swerve left and right until manage to control back my car.
Since then i not dare drive over 80km/h when raining.
PS4 is really king of wet handling UHP tyre.

Comfort is not there as my car is equipped with adjustable suspension and 40 series tyre wont be comfort afterall. But definitely noiser when compare to PS4 and my friend (same car same setup) using V12evo2.

Treadwear life is also not that good. For my daily usage in town and ocassionaly touge i think should last only 40000km max.

Living in Malaysia, wet performance is still very important.

V701 is actually not bad considering the price

DRY : V701
WET : PS4
*
Price wise, V701 still cannot compete with Hankook V12E2 which is still pretty good in the wet and dry so for me I won't even consider V701 anymore.

Any V701 users that feedback about substantially increased noise after some usage can verify if their tires were flipped over during the left-right/right-left rotation?

The Yokohama installer I approached explained that because its directional pattern, many shops 'forgot' to remove and flip the tires if they change sides. I'm between an AE50 and this for a new set.
*
I don't think tire shops are that stupid. I think that's just lame excuse from that Yokohama dealer. If I were you, forget about both those tires and better get either Hankook V12E2, Falken FK510, Michelin PS4, or Continental Extreme Contact Sport, depending on size availability and your budget only but all those are better choices.

I'm avoiding tires that are known to have thin tire walls, so that puts the Hankook and Conti aside. Michelin would have been my default choice if it wasn't the high price, while I'm still bugged by 'old' Falken ST115's recommendations to be taken better care of (diligently balanced, rotated and aligned).

Still, thanks for the recommendations.
*
Which Continental that you said have thin sidewall? I have used CSC3, CSC5, and now ECS and the sidewall held very well and actually quite strong. V12E2 does have a rather thin sidewall, I agree. PS4 is excellent but still has chipping issue if driven hard enough. FK510 has been receiving very good feedbacks in many reviews and I don't think it needs extra care more than any other tires. Performance wise, all those are surely better than V701 not to mention the lower level AE50.

Chill down dude.

The only Contis with my sizes (195/55r16 or 205/55r16) is the MC5, UC6 and CC6, all of which i have personally felt the thinness of their walls. FK510 does not start at 16" too.

Anyway I purposely posted here in the v701 thread coz i've already decided between this 2 after doing my homework.
*
No wonder, those are all Continental low end models aimed at focusing on comfort so of course the sidewall are all thin and flimsy. But yeah Continental good line ups are mostly only for 17 upwards, same like the FK510 unfortunately.

Best is go for PS4 or at least PS3 if 16'. Otherwise get Goodyear F1D5, also an excellent tire on par with PS3 and surely still better than V701.
