Another good race!  The Ducs is really a missile! Good for MV that he can win and beat FQ comprehensively. Good for Suzuki also that they are pretty close despite lacking acceleration,  bodes well for twisty tracks. Just wondering why Petronas were so slow!
*
Rossi went 'ard on the tyres & Morbidelli's holeshot device was stuck on .

Makes me want for more in next races because the first one didn't really give any indications how the rest of the season will shape up (added with MMarquez returning at Portimao).

Doesn't look good for Morbidelli. Mind you that bike is 2 years old...

Just realised the race is on the same track again! Anyone know why?

Petronas seems in trouble with Morbi engine problems while Rossi just going backwards and slow!

Contract obligations. Qatar double header is probably to make up the numbers to satisfy minimum amount of races. And $$$.

It's a pity for MM to retire like that... He shouldn't rush back to racing last year....

He's the only hope for Honda at the moment...

I actually like his racing attitude... He can be aggressive all the time but never give up....
*
Hugely Honda management (namely Puig) fault for rushing him back. Would be better if he leaves the factory team & demoted to LCR or other satellite teams (really want Pons back on the grid).

Even better if he leaves Honda altogether. Honda would intially struggle to find his replacement (just like finding Rossi's replacement back then) until they inevitably find another alien 😆

Didn't ask much from MMarquez but if Rossi can finish P4 on his comeback after the Mugello crash, top 10 would be huge given the extent of MM's injuries.

Maybe there is a reason why Ducati only give Miller 1-year contract... hmm.gif

Also Vinales seems reverting back to "old normal".

Another race leaving a lot to be desired if not for Miller, Rins & Zarco crashed out. AEsp & MMarquez look promising (a podium in summer isn't too possible for MM & the prospect of Dovi on Aprilia is too good to be ignored).

I'm wondering if Quartararo has finally learned something from last year because next races will be a test to his consistency & mental strength.

Another point to note is how disappointing Morbi is so far. He was so strong consistently last year but now just languishing back in midfield.
*
Morbi riding 2-year old bike doesn't help but unfortunately Petronas' budget allocation doesn't allow him having factory-spec bike.

FQ mentioned that he actually still has a bit more in reserve in the end so seems like he is getting better and more confident now after the disaster last year.
*
Quartararo has probably toughened up mentally but I don't know how long it'll hold up because summer races form (plus MM returning) will be a test to his championship challenge. Can't count out other riders too if FQ let it slip again.

(another proof that riders still make a difference & bike alone can't win championship laugh.gif)

Still a long way to go for MM, but looks like anti-clockwise circuits suit him better with his current condition.

Another big crash for MM... but he's lucky that he's able to at least stand & walk on his own power instead of carried on a stretcher.

Edit: just a couple of bruises but the bike trajectory into the airfence is just scary (enough to wreck the bike).

Acosta's killing it, not even Rossi & MMarquez were this good when they raced in 125cc. And he's a rookie.

JZ fastest in warm up followed by MV and FQ. Hopefully JZ can bounce back.  Meanwhile MM crashed again luckily uninjured again. VR is hopeless though.

Usually I'm not worried with lowside crashes but seeing the bike's trajectory into the barrier I have reasons to be worried... sweat.gif

Maybe there are reasons why bigger runoff areas are better.

Tyre problem & arm pump? That's a double trouble but then Quartararo has time to recover.

You know what else is not fun? Being forced to retire after a terrible injury. Like his dad & his idol Schwantz. Prefer to see Rossi retire on his own volition.

It's normal to have one lead rider, you can see MM from earlier years whereby his teammate were no where to be seen.

But for Yamaha, 3 of its riders FQ, MV or FM were able to win races, so it's best bike overall. See MV topping the test season when FQ not around.

Vinales always fastest in testing but never fastest when it matters the most 😂

Typical Yamaha riders problem 😂
