hello, yes, normally theres 3 option if not mistaken: A) Mataking, Pom Pom, B) Bohey Dulang, Sibuan, Mantabuan, C) Mabul Kapalai

For diver like me will recommend B to snorkellers because have abit of hiking in bohey dulang, and beach at sibuan and some snorkelling. I would not recommend C because its basically no beach just snorkelling option. A could be good also, but no hiking to viewpoint.

Hi all,
Planning to visit Sabah for the first time.. Which city is highly recommended?

Criteria:
1. Must have wide variety of seafood choice and budget friendly
2. Sight seeing more towards nature such as waterfall and white sandy beaches
3. Will most likely renting car to travel around
4. Planning probably a 3-5 nights stay
5. Additional crossing border experience to Indonesia for any worthwhile sight seeing (not compulsory)

I'm currently in Sabah.
Yesterday, I tried to travel to attractions around Kundasang-Ranau. Quite satisfying for a one day trip, and very tiring, but above all, its so damn cheap.
Headed out of our hotel at 5am to reach Kundasang town at 8am for breakfast. RM38 for 6 people.

Reach Desa Dairy Farm 8.45am but turned out its web-booking only. And the last available slot that day was 2pm. Wouldve cost us RM28 for 6 people. But its okay, we've been here already so skip!!

Next, we went to Arnab Village 12km from town. RM102 for 6 but the cashier gave discount of RM87 (free one child). 2 hours done then to the next location.

Kg. Bombom fish spa was 10km away. RM26 for 6 of us. Too bad we can only spend 10 minutes to play with the fishes, but it was indeed worth it. We didnt go to the famous sg momoroli fish spa cause its too far. Quite tiring to drive the long winding road. sweat.gif

We had lunch by a nice family restaurant. RM68 mixed rice variety for 6 people.

Next was Poring hotspringhotspring (26km) from the fish spa. This place you can literally spend the entire day there. But we just decided to take the Canopy Walk. Entrance to Poring hotspring was RM10 for all, and the canopy walk was RM12. My gawd it was quite a tiring hiking adventure. Ive done this once, so I dont plan to do this again. Haha!

By then it was 2.30pm, so I've decided to go back to the hotel. 3 hours drive back to KK was the tiring part, and the traffic jam upon entering back to KK was not fun at all.

Sure, theres more to do there but I'm sharing a simple itenirary of what you can do without much planning. But above all, its definitely very easy on the wallet. Total spent just under 500 inclusive of roadside food, snacks, tickets, pet food, souvenirs, petrol for a day.

Hot tip: rented Perodua Aruz and it sucks! Hardly any pickup driving uphill in Kundasang.
