Does anyone have any update on the problems with renewing passport online?

i am still facing the "CAP JARI ANDA YANG TERSIMPAN TELAH ROSAK ATAU TIADA DAN PERLU DILAKUKAN PENGAMBILAN SEMULA SUPAYA TIDAK AKAN ADA MASALAH SEMASA PENGGUNAAN CAP JARI DI PINTU MASUK/KELUAR. PERMOHONAN TIDAK DAPAT DITERUSKAN, SILA RUJUK PEJABAT IMIGRESEN" problem.

Did it for my mom & aunts, all facing the same prob.

Then, I tried to key in my details and see, another msg appears.

PERMOHONAN ANDA TIDAK DAPAT DITERUSKAN. TARIKH TAMAT PASPORT MELEBIHI SATU TAHUN. SILA RUJUK PEJABAT IMIGRESEN. TERIMA KASIH.

My passport actually will only expire in 2019.

Sigh~~

Just go and update your prints in ini.

Hi there =) Assuming that the only error you got was technical issue and not that of thumbprint/expiry date >1 year, the method which worked for me was to edit every single tab that has already been automatically filled in after keying in my IC and passport number. Even if you don't intend to amend any details, just erase one or two letters and type the same thing again. The colour of the automatically filled in tabs will change to white/yellow from red (if i remember correctly).

I tried renewing mine for days and I kept getting the same technical error till I did the above. I hope it works for you too!

Looks like online method is more hassle. I just went to renew my passport over the counter, and just took 1 and half an hour until the passport is ready for collection.

I did mine online. All was smooth.

Until I went to collect, and they told me my photo can't be used.

So had to retake new photo.

They expedite it for me. Collected my passport in about 20 minutes from arrival.

Overall from what I understand.
Its based on luck, the gov system are not the best in the world so yeah....

Buat online hari ni, then dia suruh ambil hari ni juga tapi tak sempat la.

Tried few days keep getting this error!!!!

Tried to renew online, but they say my fingerprint is spoil, need to go branch and renew.

but my old passport dunno throw go where still can renew?

When u go to shop ambil gambar scan tu, make sure they use the size yg imigresen suruh tu.

Kedai that i go didn't, its slightly bigger resolution

So i balik rumah cut sendiri. Bila pergi imigresen nak kutip passport, dia kata gambar tak boleh guna sbb pecah pecah.

or else, i'll be at the imigresen 30 minutes sahaja untuk pick up. Over all, jadi 1 hour saja.

or must go back sabah only can do?
i got my birth cert and current passport with me

Today went kl UTC renew say their system down, asked to go other branch, thought want to online renew, keep saying my fingerprint got problem, shit lah, I just replace my IC few months ago only...rosak apa??

I dont see why not.
Go ahead to the UTC center if you want to renew both IC and Passport.
UTC has both for it and you can finish it by the same day just go in the morning, UTC Pudu is a great place to go.

Well Gov system is kinda crappy we all by now should know that.
Its either didn't update or sync software sucks balls.

My suggestion go ahead and UTC Pudu or any UTC.
The online thing was a great thing during the time they only release 100 - 1000 passport renewal perday.

Supply was limited they say... load of bullshit at that time, now its back to the good old days.

Just the only cool thing for the online thing now (if you can process with it) it will be finished really fast no problem with picture problem or whatever
as if you go there and pick it up.

FYI they have a special number for online (during my time) not sure now tho.

the collection of passport does it take time? it shouldnt have quota on numbering right?
can it collect on sat?

UTC i dont see why not.
Yeah just pick up not that long, its depends on how many counter open.
