Ended up here because I happen to catch a Soon Hock fish from yesterdays fishing and he's still alive in my yard haha. Reading the discussion above, now I understand why the fish is so expensive in the restaurants.

QUOTE(Yveatel @ Jan 20 2021, 05:40 PM) Backwards? what it means? As I understand fertigation is like a one way solution right? the AB nutrients will go through a hose, through a dripper to give nutrients to the plant, then the nutrients will end up on the floor whereas hydroponic the AB nutrients will be recycled, keep on being used. then from time to time monitor the nutrients content in the water with EC/TDS meter and add accordingly |

Hi everyone, I am trying to plant (still unsure what!) on my small farm in Pinang Tunggal, Kedah. Rented out this 1acre of land to a vege farmer and he was very reluctant to return it to me. Finally, he agreed but I am currently facing this issue; A. Finding a land surveyor to pin point the exact location of my land as there are more than 20 lots at the site. I failed to locate the demarcation stones now. B. What item, fruits or vege to plant? I am sorry to ask this seem to be noob questions. I am interested to plant since he agrees to return the land but hitting bumps along the way. Any advice would really be appreciated as when I asked some farmers, they told me many negative comments such as; A. Don’t waste yr time since it is such a small plot B. Hard to find source of water. (I am thinking of getting tubing water from the ground Thank you for reading my post. Kok Yuen mohdyakup liked this post

Not your concern. -only vege due to small size. Deduct road, pond, u wont have sufficient size. Likely make loss only. No chance to recover capital. -water - just bore underground water, dig a pond to store water. |

Thank you for replying to my queries. I am a tutor. So it seems not worth getting into planting as the plot too small? Wild you know the fees of getting the boundary pegged? Once again, thanks so much for taking the trouble to answer my noob questions. My business is not so great now, that’ s why thinking’s of doing some planting to supplement my income. Now, only works a few hours for a few days at night, |

You can get part timer, proper surveyor at different price. I dont know the pricing. Last time i hire to measure 4 acres + about 1k. Actually going into agriculture is a blackhole into your pocket if you know nothing. Might as well collect rent and thats it. Continue tahan at your tutor job despite being slow. By sequence...land clearing, land preparation, land touch up and pond, bore water, farm equipment, seedlings, pesticides herbicides fertiliser ect would take away easily 30k cash. Up front. |

QUOTE(flintbatu @ Feb 21 2021, 02:12 PM) Hi everyone, First, I am a land surveyor. If you really want an accurate boundary, you need to get someone to be on site. If you do not need it, PM me the plan at the back of your title, perhaps I can put in Google for you. I am trying to plant (still unsure what!) on my small farm in Pinang Tunggal, Kedah. Since the farmer can be there for so many years, I am pretty sure sooner or later you will know the water source. Besides, if the land is near the main road, you can apply for the water utilities to connect to your land. It would be good if you can look at fruits for the long term and vege as the short term. Harvesting of vege will be fast but need intensive care. Fruits will be good if you have full-time job out there and can only be there during the weekend. If vege, then you may as well get a small hut plus some chickens. You can join the local Persatuan Ladang and connect to the government agencies, they always got some funds to assist new farmers (not sure now though). All in all, best wishes in your farming life. I know some great engineers become farmer and earn more than his job. mohdyakup liked this post
