QUOTE(Waba @ Mar 14 2007, 12:46 PM)
WoW comsume your soul in such a way not even the chaos gods can match its scale of destructions it left on individual victims,  as if that is not enough in the process it devours your reality credits too, I might as well start Table top if i am gonna start WoW

The table top costs thousands on minatures alone doesn't it?

I am not comparing sports to TT, rather I was trying to illustrate if I were to invest so much on a "virtual game" monthly. I would rather go for TT

Dangerously close, yes, still I wonder for myself where and how do all these hobby shops find new recruits to play Warhammer TT, is not like they have a sign saying "learn 40k here" nor there are lots of people walking around with an extra lung or kidney.

i talk to a few T.T players and basically their replys are

- Collectors value
- Can keep as display (Diorama or ego boasting)
- Can sell if looks good.

Generally collecting the figures are more to matierialistic attachments. Pll buy then paint their customize scheme then show off to their friends mainly...

Sichiri.. Hunt not gonna forgive you.

Excom, you never really did read my question did you? I was asking how did the hobby shops recruit new players, it is some what a miracle for me these shops does not seems to promote their stuff, stay at one corner of a shopping complex and wait for players to come while surviving the IMBA rentals.

Trials is just 2 weeks away.So freaking scared of the Dark Gods of A-Levels,especially the Dark God of Further Maths. It has taken me hell lot of my gaming time into maths grinding.

BTW, I've been corrupted by the taint of WoW recently. >_<

i have a feeling that these things are spread via word of mouth and usually taught by a friend and then it repeats itself.

i don't see many noobs going into those shops to get basic tips for fear of being laffed at.

but, i did put up a poster of the upcoming Cybertime tournament at MidValley and will place another in Wolf's game shop when i get back from my visit with the
Emperor (my boss) in Terra homeworld (Singapore).

ops guess i didnt read properly

Hmm... I guess out of their seniors peers. E.g New pll join T.T club or T.T circles. After playing a while get shock and awe of the game. Not to be left out with the whole thing so go save up and buy T.T pieces.

Shops dont recruit.. All the just do is provide a workplace and playing area and noobs(directed by comunity or frens) come like bees to honey.

Err.. T.T shops tries to avoid placing their place in OMFG imba rentals btw. Gamecircle is at near Atria (backwater place) and Wolf Castle is at Amcorp Mall (backwater place)

The only T.T shop i so far found that have OMFG imba rental is the one at Midvalley.

I like the idea of those table-top shop how they run their business.. esspecial they giving out the service where you can rent a place and play. Somemore u can jolt down ur name and contact at the shop if u want to look for a buddy to play with.

compare to those who just selling the miniatures only... they wont survive any longer....

Spartans are IMBA! Enough said.

Anyway I might be able to do a mock up T-shirt (sample type) in real size for you guys to judge before production for I cant shake the feeling the backside picture might be a bit small for A4 size, then it can be pass around key Waaagh! members to put a final say in this project, I have hand on experience in these sort of things, a lot of time what we preceive is way off in real result.

Until then, the Emperor protects!

Welcome. Wibi is johnny.

Well... if you stay in KL, you are always welcome to join our LAN session which we held every Saturday in FTZ cyber cafe in SS15, Subang Jaya. Hmm... it's very hard to give us tips without knowing your level of play. You can post some of your 1v1 replay on here so we can give out the appropriate tips though, or you can look for us in hamachi or xfire for a game.

Just refer to the 1st post of this thread for more information. Cheers.

(Xerxes is sexxxxy, yea~)
