Firstly United lack a leader on the pitch thats the main problem. Someone to set Pogba straight and tell him he has a defensive duty to do and calm things down and encourage them forward. Bastian is everything United need right now but he wont get th light of day. His calming presence in midfield and controlling of the game would be perfect for United.

As for Mourinho he needs to find a system that works for United and fast. In my eyes the best system for United at the moment is one similar to what he played in porto 12 years ago. A 4-3-2-1/4-3-3 hybrid. Have pogba packed around plenty if midfielders that he seems to thrive in. Have Schweinsteiger, Carrick or Blind as the defensive midfielder dictating play deep with Herrera/Fellaini or Schneiderlin on the other side of the 3. Then have 2 almost free 8s or number 10s infront the midfield 3 and behind Zlatan get some fluidity in the team.

Have Carrick, Schweinsteiger and Blind for DMs, Pogba, Herrera, Rooney, Fellaini, Schneiderlin as the two other CM in the 3. Mata, Mhkitaryan, Martial, Lingard as the free role players infront the midfield and Zlatan or Rashford up top.

Tactical awareness must be trained over and over each and every time during training. Right now, most players are static and mostly plays ball to feet like schoolboys normally do to avoid mistakes but by doing this it will be too obvious for opponents.

Only 2 players roam around asking for the ball and looking to play through balls. Both are from Spain and they play like that because its in their blood, they have been trained to play like that since young.
