agreed. iphone 6 currently got it's touch disease.

sometimes it's all about statistics. the more you sell, the more likely a lemon issue comes up.

i'm just using the rm39 samsung sp... film one. trimmed the top and bottom a bit so it won't peel. works well with my spigen case... dun ask me which... i also forgot what it's called. basically the clear one.

in regards to Samsung "quality".

i still have an S3 and Note 2 that is still "working". S3 running CM now coz well, i get worried abt the vulnerabilities and lack of patches. Note 2... probably going to wipe and get a new battery and it should still be able to serve me for another 1-2 years...

with Note 2, it was my daily driver for the 3+ years. it's on 99% of the time. i use it for work, for gaming and also for video. many, many hours of it.


i think that's good enough statement about Samsung.

in regards to Note7 issue... let's see what Samsung has to say...

though i suspect it will be how they handled that "sudden death memory chip" thingy -- we will replace/ fix if it's in warranty. out of warranty -- sorry la.

fact is... Samsung cannot afford to do recall even if it's a known issue. mobile phone is not like car industry where it's critical to have the recall.

u tried swapping the SIMS and still same? as in SIM 2 gives u weaker signal?

the exploding Note 7 cases in Korea... iinm i think due to fast charging + USB Type C?

though still under investigation, i recall Samsung focusing on the USB cables.

not that surprised coz I still think USB Type C is a dangerous game considering there's no way to properly check and tell which cable is compliant.

for me... i realised i don't need the fast charging and i've disabled it on both cabled and wireless charging... conventional charging is already quite fast for me.

word... should be the updates from Samsung's store. at least that's what happened for me.

anyway, try clearing the cache for Google Play. it worked for me last time.

but if you recall that insane chip thing... Samsung did nothing other than to say if under warranty, they will fix it. else... no replacement, etc... which is not very good news for ppl who plan to use the phone for many years...

i dun think they will do a recall. this is not auto industry.

even if confirmed issue, samsung will just say they will fix the issue if phone still in warranty. that... i'm very sure.

i dun think Samsung will say we'll fix the phone even if issue happens to your phone 4 years from now.

also, the slowdown is to check on the exploding cases, which i think is more to do with Fast Charging + USB Type C. no mention abt boot loop or the sudden death issues plaguing some owners here.

but i'm curious to know... Korea using Exynos version, right? or SD?

true... 42 out of 4k is like 1% only.

and we all know it's more than 4k since 4K is just SME and we're probably looking at easily 1k each for the major telco... not surprised if we have like 6-7k units in Malaysia. assuming double up and it's 8k... that's 0.5%....

this one... i think it's just random. sometimes happens even on my old device. if worried, just restart phone.

i think for me... happens like once every few months. dun really cause any issue. i feel it's something like Window's Explorer have stopped working, though less severe.

in my case, each time it happens, i just restart my phone.

same here... though i dun really wanna change from right to left since i'm kinda used to right side.

maybe i might just install SWIPEPAD instead since SWIPEPAD can also let me setup shortcut to HOME screen, which I find very useful.

and SWIPEPAD can give you vibration feedback when you swipe it. Samsung should just buy up the company doing SWIPEPAD.

in a way... i totally can understand and agree.

if there are some defects (perhaps some are just lucky not to have the signs yet), it is still better to have a recall and get new units.

just like how the takata airbag cases... many don't die from the airbags... well, coz many dun get into accidents and end up with airbags deployed. but still... it's a defect and it should be fixed.

if Samsung really do a massive global recall, i can only say that i respect them for it.

coz means they are matured as company to actually handle it right.

in the past, they had just "ignored" it -- remember the insane chip thing? they din really bother unless the phone really died.

or... in some other company's case -- you're holding the phone all wrong. smile.gif

well, see what Samsung does next. but as much as i like a global recall, i think Samsung just cannot financially afford it. they'd probably just do by region for the battery. for the bootloop (which is less serious since it won't cause death), probably ignore like the insane chip.
