I suggest you use tempered glass. I use the phone without casing and glass protector for 3 days.. already got fine hairline scratch on the screen. It's certainly not as good as other higher end phone glass. I'm using dark blue case on my grey set. It looks good.

Im still using the stock matte sticker, haven't peel it off yet until i get a tempered glass. Yes, I haven't taken any selfies nor video calls yet bcoz the matte sticker covers the front cam n sensor..

Using black with my gray phone. Quiet nice and matching with bezel. Tempered glass i got free when i buy phone. Already have small crack at top. Low quality lol

Hi Guys,

I am planning to buy RN4 from DirectD later today at RM899 for the 64GB variant. Is it good of a price? Also from what I gather from the discussion going on here:

*since RN4 is not officially available here in MY so the warranty is bound to the shop we bought it from.
*official global ROM comes with Google PlayStore, means no hassle of sideloading
*both GPS and Celcom LTE works fine
*active apps are not kept running in the background (whatsapp/social app notification will be missed unless i open them) however can be fixed by simply locking the app in the recent app section and have to be repeated for every apps. Hopefully there is a way to do this for all apps instead.

I am no longer into the rooting/flashing/unlocking scene as I no longer have the luxury of time. Will RN4 running on Official Global ROM works for someone who need it to work out of the box with less to no tinkering? Please advise.

RM899 is too expensive. 11.11 my friends bought 2 64GB unit under RM650. Early this week 2 forumer also got it around RM650. See few pages back. All got from Lazada

Not really a fan of buying phones online/postage but okay I will look into it, apart from that though do you have any input regarding my other concerns?

I just wanna say about active apps not running in background. You can have running apps in background event your clear them. Just put the apps in "autostart". I put telegram, whatsapp and mi fit. For others apps, after i open it then the notification received. No need to locking the apps in recent app.

RM 899 is indeed expensive, but that's the price u have to pay if u walk-in i supposed. U could save around RM 200 if u bought online eg via Lazada, etc.. it's the exact same item but u'll get it 1-2 days later instead, and u can use that 200 to buy something else eg casing and/or tempered glass.

Anyway, yes it does work out of the box, including OTA updates. After updating to the lastest 8.0.4.0, no need to lock whatsapp in recent app list, just set autostart as said by the above forumer.

It includes all Google apps eg PlayStore, Gmail, etc. The gps is excellent, instant lock and immediate reroutings.

I use the RN4 purely for work, and its Helio X20 chipset does a superb job (open and view attachments such as AutoCAD drawings, Photoshop PSD files, etc). The only game I have right now is Implosion : Never Lose Hope. The graphics is awesome, even at High settings.

The only thing I can't seem to find is the Voice over LTE option in settings. Has anyone able to find it? Is it the SIP settings?

From what I compared online yes 899 is expensive, but I prefer walk in in case I ever need to claim the warranty. Thanks for the elaborate input, appreciate it.

I'm typing this on my gold RN4 and it's fantastic for the price. No case only SP installed. Not really digging SP I think may scrape it off and use it naked. Thoughts?

Good to hear the it performs daily for you. I'm sure it'll do a fine job for me.

GPS is excellent so far.

Almost opt for the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime with SD650 just now, but lack of global ROM is an instant turn off for me.

Although my only gripe is that the vibration when home/back/recent are pressed are quite strong even at lowest settings. in fact it caused an unpleasant vibrating noise, maybe it is caused by my SP?

Edit: downloading 8.0.4.0 as we speak. Painstakingly slow for some reason.

VoLTE will be automatically activated when you attempt to place Yes 4G LTE sim card.
