Call up or go to Alliance Bank branch and talk to officer or BM on this 4.1% deal. Remember it has to be a large amt.

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Oct 24 2016, 09:38 AM) Haha don't simply say. Nothing is guaranteed. Principal can indeed be lost, if the bank really no more money there's no more money. Do you think your FD and savings account is first in line when bank need to settle with debtors? Small fry will normally suffer the most. Wah don't make people scared lor..Same can be said about PIDM though. It's a nice gesture but if the sort of major recession hits which kills Maybank off (biggest in MY after all) PIDM won't be able to support all the claims. Later no one would want to placed in non pidm FD |

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Oct 24 2016, 09:43 AM) In fact PIDM is nice but not foolproof. Any situation which kills Maybank will kill PIDM at the same time, so is it really a big difference? Well if maybank gone, then the economy also gone.. It's one of the backbone of the banking system..Not sure how my statement would scare people from placing non PIDM FD. Scare them into buying gold, maybe la =p Don't think government would make them failed.. |

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Oct 24 2016, 10:57 AM) I have FD's in both PIDM and non PIDM banks. Still sleep soundly without worrying about any worst case scenario. Just have to spread out the dough. Cannot worry too much lah ! Yup. Better to spread between pidm & non pidm.. Some are actually worry about banks going bankrupt "Luckily" early Nov I will dispose of some matured FD. Don't have to worry of BNM's OPR cut, if there is one. Just hope Nov month 4% FD still around or will nego with banks to at least get 4%. As for the rate.. Well u got nego power.. Sure can get good acceptable rate unlike ikan bilis like most of us.. |

QUOTE(gchowyh @ Oct 24 2016, 03:35 PM) Bad news guys, just found out 12 months promo GIA has ended last Friday! oh so sad to know..Though the link is still shown after logging into Maybank2u but just to be safe I went to ask at the branch, they said the quota is finished for this month nationwide. Apparently there will be a fresh quota allocated next month next month is very critical.. OPR meeting |

QUOTE(gchowyh @ Oct 28 2016, 06:18 PM) No more, for RHB is confirmed no more. Thanks for the info..For Maybank, I went to 2 branches, they confirmed no more be it online or physical placement as there is 1 quota for the whole country. You may try at your own risk since no rate is stated. I wonder why another forummer can can |

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Nov 2 2016, 08:06 PM) Called CIMB RM to enquire about their rates: seems like nowadays Islamic Rate is much better than conventional one For conventional: 3 mth 3.85% 12 mth 3.7% For Islamic: 3 mth 4% 12 mth 3.8% So CIMB 3 mth 4% rate is good. Anyway I am looking for 12 mth. So tomorrow will be taking out from CIMB. Looking for new home for the dough tomorrow. not many bank give 4% for 3 months FD |

I expect bnm to cut rate this coming meeting
Don't be fool by those banks report saying opr maintain because if bnm cut, FD rate sure drop.. So better be safe than sorry.. Lock up the best rate for now.. If bnm don't cut, then good. Can place more good rate FD |
