Thanks for the info. I was sceptical initially. Tomorrow going to try it thru' MBB to place the HL 6 mth 4.15% FD. This is a good deal not to be missed. That's why I allocated some amt from OCBC matured FD for this one. To avoid lost of interest, put it in MBB GIA-i for 1 day.

So lets see tomorrow.

Happy to announce that I have done 4 FPX transaction from MBB within less than 30 minutes. After each transaction, immediately log in to HL, the FD placement will be shown there.

The 4 transaction is definitely above the MBB daily 30k limit for sure. So what @chrisoth80 said is correct !

The FPX transaction is smooth like silk. I did not wait for any time to do the transaction though @chrisoth80 advised 20 minutes wait. Maybe no one was doing it early in the morning 8.10am. I think I could have done it within less than 30 minutes if I did not have to terminate MBB GIA-i placement in between.

Another sifu which I miss out mentioning about FD King yesterday !

My FPX experience is good. The HL eFD appeared immediately after re-login !

However one of my relatives said Affin only allow one 30k FPX and does not allow second one. Also MBB CA unable to perform FPX.

I have to thank chrisoth80 for mentioning MBB as using MBB has no issue for me.

I think ultimately the eFD appearing in HL is the proof of the placement.

Whew, my 4 placement is no issue from MBB SA. Nice experience. Luckily started around 8.10am.

More analyst saying OPR maintain for now. Good news for now.

The worst one is the USD gain vs RM for those that need USD ! Will OPR increase early next year or as some said BNM to reduce it in 1Q 2017 ?

For those who are already there, just have to stick it out !

OPR wise, still have to see how it goes from now till Trump goes into office and beyond ................

Interesting that from possibility of cutting OPR, to maintaining it. Even now talk of raising it !

Anyway any increase hopefully can last for at least 2 months. But that hope of increase is slim.

Haha, interest rate up, good and bad. Good for those with FD bad for those paying loans. One man's meat is another man's poison.

At least it did not go South. So hopefully FD promo can go beyond 4.2%.

As u said, doubt the gain can be long term !

Ya, earlier due to poor sentiment, that BNM will reduce OPR in Nov, so FD promo hovering at 3.95%, until some 4.15% came out. So now with the dust settled, hopefully can get like 4.25% or above. 4.5% may be a bit hard, I think.

Best u check with MBB for the return lower than 3.6%. I avoided going into this one precisely for the reason that the rate may be revised, not fixed.

Anyway, just to share, I have terminated Alliance Bank 4% FD placed in Nov, forgoing RM500+ interest for CIMB bond giving 5.3-5.5%. U can read more details in:

Last time my MBB GIA-i one year placement has similar problem. It turns out to be the problem of MBB during OTC placement. Is yours OTC or online placement ?

The previous one yr promotion, people are getting the indicated rates by month. So, should not follow the changed rates of 3.6%/3.55%. That should only be for those placing for non campaign GIA-i (not 4.1% eff rate).

My case is different. OTC the MBB staff used the wrong code, make it like monthly placement instead of GIA 1 year promo rate. They manually paid me the last 6 mths of "lost" interest. Case settled.

As I said at the beginning, u should call the branch to find out the reason. But I was curious as yours is online placement. So if it affects you, it may affect those that did the placement the same day/time. Anyway, MBB is the only one has the answer.
