What about from Azureus to uTorrent? Err... May I know does the incomplete files kept, ie. which folder? Is it under Program Files? sweat.gif
Azureus have a different method actually. You can specify folder for incomplete files and also a folder to move completed files into... This is why Azureus does not use any (!) file extensions. rolleyes.gif

Lex, I've done all that already. But when i want to start a new torrent on uTorrent, I got this msg. "Unable to load bla,bla,bla.mp3.!ut:Invalid torrent file"
That's usual for BitComet because it has a slightly different way of storing incomplete parts in each file. Thus you may see less % finished parts when moving from BitComet to uTorrent (and vice versa). hmm.gif

Note: uTorrent and BitSpirit is pretty much compatible in this respect, always have the same % of finished parts switching between these two. icon_rolleyes.gif

Edit: Carmen, I noticed something... !ut is NOT the original torrent file, its the incomplete downloaded file! The torrent file starts with ".torrent" extension. Please look for the torrent file in your BitComet folder. Check this out V1.2 - How to switch between 2 Torrent clients?, Without losing your downloaded Files! rolleyes.gif

Additional: I think the trouble with this is that you started the torrent from your browser directly or thru BitComet's search function. Next time save the torrent file in a common folder location first before starting the torrent job. smile.gif

Look under C:\Program Files\BitComet\Torrents folder. Please enable view file extensions to look for the said torrent file. Otherwise re-download the torrent file by using "Save target as..." or "Save Link Target As..." and save it into a folder. rolleyes.gif

Edit:
The torrent file (*.torrent) and the incomplete downloaded file (*.!ut) are TWO different files! Renaming the ".!ut" file to ".torrent" will NOT work. rolleyes.gif

Don't want to start another thread as this may be just a minor issue, I'm using Utorrent and something weird keeps happening.. in queueing I set 7 maximum active ul/dl and 5 maximum active dl but after every few hours almost all the torrents in queue seem to start downloading, and this makes it hard for the torrents at the top to dl properly as everything slows to a crawl.

Bug?

It will work...

as long as you link your downloaded files with the torrent client.

This is how it works.

Thanks HeHeHunter. Just to double check.

When I install uTorrent to the new hdd, do I need to create the same incomplete folder's name?

Also, since some of the incomplete downloads are stored in drive E, do I need to follow back the same directory structure, i.e., create a partition E and also create the same incomplete folder's name as well?

Can I just continue the incomplete folder in drive C:? sweat.gif

Yes... it's a must or the torrent don't know where is the folder located..

For your 2nd question...
I got a little don't understand.

Eg.

You got 300gb HDD(D) and 80GB HDD(C).
Your incomplete file is in the 80GB HDD(C). your utorrent save file directory is at the 80GB HDD(C).
You shift everything into the 300gb HDD(D). So, you need to change your file directory to 300Gb HDD(D).

I hope this explanation is not confusing.

I think I get what you meant.

Meaning:

OLD 80GB HDD has drive C:, D: & E: (F: - is CDROM) Now if my incomplete torrent is located at old hdd E:\Lost.

So with new 160GB HDD, I must partition exactly accordingly like my old 80GB hdd. That means I must create these drive too - C:, D: & E:, right? Then create a Lost folder in E: in order to get the torrent to continue downloading, right?

Sorry if I sounds like a real dummy or made you confused. rclxub.gif Not good in it. sweat.gif

No need to create another E drive...

Eg. E:\Lost is your 80 GB HDD right?

now you just create whatever... C:\Lost or whatever link also can.
As long as the folder Lost is not changed.
Then when you start uTorrent, you need to link it back to the download folder.

If you would get what I mean.
Sorry, my England sucks.

thumbup.gif THANKS HEHEHUNTER!!! Understood! thumbup.gif

Your England's not suck. Just that I'm not good with these things.

One more dumb IT question:
I've read your link and also downloaded lex's PACK. Err... where can I find the "!ut" files?

Where are they located? I've looked in the uTorrent folder under Program Files but don't find the files.

I've also looked under the Documents and Settings Folder\*USER*\Application\uTorrent but only find the BitTorrent File. Are these the "!ut" files that you mentioned?

(Pls see the attachement...)
