Main difference between the Raven & the Laguna? & the offer ends tonight?

The core differences between the RAVEN and LAGUNA are:

Form factor: LAGUNA has an overall aluminum finish whereas RAVEN is solid plastic. The build quality of LAGUNA is sturdier too and much more solid, but it is heavier at 2.7kg compared to RAVEN at 2.2kg.

Thermal management: LAGUNA fans are quieter compared to RAVEN at maximum load and the the heat ventilation is also much better because of the quad heatpipes installed. But RAVEN does not experience from overheating though under maximum load.

Keyboard: RAVEN comes with a mechanical keyboard with per-key customizable RGB coloring. LAGUNA has a trizone programmable RGB keyboard (not per-key) but the touchpad and the power button is color customizable too.

Speakers: LAGUNA is able to produce a stronger audio output in terms of volume, clarity and bass compared to RAVEN. A non-factor if you're planning to use headphones most of the time.

Basically, Laguna has better cooling, battery and built quality (Aluminium) and Raven features its mechanical keyboard, lighter in weight and is cheaper.

For RAVEN, only the IPS panel is available (default) for the screen selection. For LAGUNA, we will feature a 120Hz IPS display panel for the laptop and it will be in stock ETA by 1 to 2 weeks' time

any updates on raven keyboard lighting not saving?


There are some further lighting behavior i wanna clarify, including the mycolor2 process.

1. as per my previous post, my lighting brightness setting most of the time doesn't set, when coming out of idle (not sleep/hibernate), it will default to original medum brightness (the setting in the app remained at medium-low)

2. mycolor2 process taking up CPU power when some of the lighting options are selected :
-static color : 6-10%
-stacker : 6-8%
-impact : 6-7%
-music : 7-15%
-other color options show usage <1%

is this a bug, or it is normal for keyboard lighting to use so much CPU power?

3. the "Saving mode" according to description, if i tick it, the lighting will go off after 10minutes idle or when the screen goes idle(blank), but to me , it doesn't make a difference, the lighting is like on permanent "saving mode", the lighting will go off after idle or screen goes blank, regardless whether i tick or untick "saving mode".

The new Raven EC is released together with the Intel Vulnerability BIOS fix. You may request from support@illegear.com with your serial number.

i recently received a bios update. Doing as per instruction, running f.bat and installing ME drivers.

Currently:
bios : N.1.02
EC : 1.07.00

Based on the update folder name, i have only updated the bios, but not the EC. Is there a separate installation for EC?

For D7 Coffeelake, it is using an MXM graphics card and because of its modularity (plug and play), it can be upgradable after purchase. More information regarding this technology can be found here

The CPU for D7 is using the normal desktop CPU, so it is also plug and play and upgradable after purchase. For our laptops, the RAM, HDD, SSD, SSHD, wireless card, warranty duration as well as display panel for selected models can be upgraded in the future after purchase

Hi guys,

Considering if I want/should replace my 4+ year old laptop and quite impressed with Illegear, however as I'm not based in Klang Valley but in JB, how would warranty be handled typically for outstation customers like me where travelling specifically to your office might not be an option?
