Like someone suggest get 50Mbps n share cost with 5 neighbours.
*
Get 100mb share with 2 or 3 other neighbours is already good enough. Even split 2 is consider good. But make sure everyone is cooperative lah, if not, the person who sign up will end up having to pay for 24 months.

I had to downgrade as that is the max speed available to me for my house

But 4MB can still use HyppTv, so why do you terminate it?

QUOTE(PeinEVO @ Jul 6 2017, 03:47 PM)
Becuase i cant use it for hd content ofcourse. There are 2 reasons

First off) even with my 8mbps i barely get any hd service around my area let alone 4mbps speed. Which means to say i wouldnt get the full service

Secondly) i was not made aware that i will be charged extra for my termination as the officer at tm point dully said that i had to only pay for the transfer of the address. And she did acknowledge there is no other payment i had to made. Only rm50 which will be credited into my bill. And since to my knowledge, the hypptv is provided for free for my package at that time, since there was ongoing promotion, i was not made realized that my hypptv is bounded by the 1 year contract. I thought only my highest available internet package was bounded by that contract
*
Hypp is also bounded by the 1 year contract, but since you are not aware, and the staff also didn't inform you, then really no choice now. Some of them never bother to check and inform customer, so in the end customer is the one kena penalty.

im on that plan. im just saying we need to get a lower price thant rm130! because its a ripoff to think that rm130 can only get 4mbps.. while rm149 can get more than double the speed by the same company. I have no issue with the service although i would like a higher speed i understand. However TM needs to understand as well that we want a price that justify the service rendered.
im not sure how big of a complaint for the pricepoint can help as TM have no competition right now
*
agree. even 10mb on unifi lite costs RM129. TM is making us subsidise unifi without making available fiber infra. .

this is easier said than done. How many Malaysian can buy high rise condo at the first place? don't think time is available in nationwide condo, that's very wrong.

QUOTE(ChongHan90 @ Jan 21 2018, 01:36 PM)
Guys, anyone facing this before?

I got my streamyx Thank You surprise last year around Oct 2017, I got the free basic Hypp TV package for Free for my 4Mbps streamyx. I am glad to be offered this free package without paying anything.

However, I cut my streamyx line at DEC 2017, and there penalty me because the FREE Hypp TV subscription about RM 200 +++.

So i check back my bills, actually the Hypp TV is NOT FREE! They just deduct the streamyx amount, add up the Hypp TV amount!

Old Streamyx bill = rm88
New bill with streaymx + free hypp tv = 33 + 55 = 88!

There is a rm55 for the hypp tv! SO if i terminated the streamyx, i have to pay the remaining hypp TV for one year subscription! WTF! I thought This is FREE subscription?

Everyone, please kindly help me on this, does this make sense? Anyone facing this before?

Or may be you didn't realize, please check you bills.

Thanks.
*
As I know the offer will cause you to be contracted again, so terminate will kena penalty. Usually before you take up make sure to check all the T&C.

QUOTE(buysellaccount @ Jan 21 2018, 01:37 PM)
jangan sakit, brothers.

streamyx 1mbps oiab rm210.95/month subscriber here.
*
Brother, can change to UniFi lah if your area is covered. Otherwise it's really a pain paying 200++ for 1mb connection.

QUOTE(ChongHan90 @ Jan 21 2018, 01:40 PM)

then TIME can offer their service to us

Then Time using TM's infra? I think Time rather not. Will suffer same fate like Maxis FTTH..

QUOTE(JimbeamofNRT @ Jun 13 2018, 01:18 PM)
then, what's your opinion about this news?

Time dotCom hopes to expand its footprint in landed property segment

KUALA LUMPUR (June 1): Time dotCom Bhd is hopeful that the government will give it the "opportunity" to expand into the landed property segment of the fixed-line operating sphere.

Its group chief executive officer Afzal Abdul Rahim said the group is keen to expand its network services from enterprises and business to include landed properties. However, it currently does not have access to poles to provide connectivity to landed properties.

"Without pole access, we are not being able to rent or plant new poles and [thus,] we can't reach the landed properties," Afzal told a press conference after the group's annual general meeting today.

Afzal said Time dotCom has made its intentions clear to the government.

"We are happy to invest to expand our coverage. We just need to be given a chance to [expand coverage]," he added.

On prospects, the group anticipates continuous challenges in the telecommunications industry. However, the group still expects growth amid challenging market conditions.

"We remain cautiously optimistic. We have a small market, which is nice in the current situation and [we enjoy] relatively high margins," said Afzal.

On Thursday, Time dotCom announced its net profit for the first quarter ended March 31, 2018 (1QFY18) rose 19% to RM62.94 million from RM53.05 million a year ago, on higher revenue from its data and data centre segments.

Quarterly revenue rose 6% to RM230.73 million from RM218.42 million a year ago.

At 3.53pm, the counter was up 46 sen or 6.13% at RM7.96, bringing a market capitalisation of RM4.65 billion.
*
I see... But this is what is reported on another site few days back.
<blockquote>
On whether it would consider renting other telcos’ fibre or services infrastructure, he said Time dotCom preferred to have a full control of its quality service to ensure smoother operation.

I really hope the monopoly for fix broadband can break up and Time be allow to grow.

Service Level Agreements - SLA.

postpaid slots will never congested since the they will be more ratio on postpaid rather than prepaid

like I said, priority is on postpaid. can't remember much but if I am not mistaken you can check your SLA on your sim. the last digit determine which SLA you are in.

this is basically an internal info. they won't be bothered if customer call in asking for it
*
So in my case, change to postpaid but still using same sim card, does that mean my SLA still on prepaid?

If UniFi 30mbps can get below RM100, then they should consider Streamyx 8mbps at around RM50, and erase all lower package. That way they at least help those who are not having UniFi at the moment.

even with their "upgraded plan" for streamyx users..what will they give? esp 8Mbps users then.
*
At least they should give lower price to compensate streamyx users until they can build fiber or use their so called magic box service. If let's say RM40 for 8mbps compare to now RM140 for 8mbps, it will nevertheless be welcoming for some of the streamyx users.

in the original artikel, they doesn't mention "lower price" for streamyx users, only "special upgrade" plans

https://amanz.my/2018172382/

from here, seems those out of unifi coverage will still be "fucked" up.. those within unifi coverage might be "upgraded" to 10Mbps unifi lite from what it seems to be.
*
Yes... after reading that article, it seems to be. Don't know how they're gonna compensate. With their unlimited mobile plan?

Yes Sacofa is laying the fiber infra here. it's the Sacofa Open Fiber Infrastructure Access. Hopefully they can bring in DST or Myrepublic especially they have sign the MoU last november.

I think the only way to force tm fix coverage problem
is by forcing them to increase streamyx to max speed
and lower streamyx price at least 50%-80%
when streamyx is no longer making money
they will definitely improve unifi coverage immediately
*
There should be more company given to build the infra, not exclusively depend on TM and their subcon. TM can then have agreement to rent and use those infra for its unifi service.

They did, on the announcement day.

Those who able to "upgrade" let's say, 4Mbps..they might upgrade your line to 8Mbps. Those with 8Mbps users, or users that stuck with "technical limitations" and not in unifi covered area, they might get offered with such plan. Which what we streamyx users never wanted to. Bullshit TM. Rather than reducing the price and expand the coverage, they give streamyx users more shits.

You sure you want to pay extra rm79 on top overpriced rm149 4Mbps streamyx?
*
From the lesson of previous upgrade campaign, I already anticipate this to happen again. Maybe this time round, they are hoping to get streamyx users to terminate their streamyx and get this wireless broadband, hence they can hopefully discontinue the ADSL service. But their strategy is not right. No way they can guaranty that the wireless broadband will be stable and never get below 30mbps. And with the quota, it's just not logic.

Bro,

Can just tap into your expertise? If I have a Streamyx account and eligible to upgrade to UNIFI. However, the phone line is under my dad's name. Is it better to change the phone line to my name first?

The thing is, the fixed phone line rental is RM25 but it's been waived. Not sure whether this discount will still apply after change of name from my dad to myself.

Many thanks.  notworthy.gif
*
Change to your name - RM10 charges. Then upgrade to UniFi and maintain the phone number, no more RM25 rental, voice plan RM20 if you want free calls. So if you get UniFi 30mbps at RM139, without voice plan the calls will be charged RM0.20/min.

All Jalan Sempadan and Lorong Sempadan X in Penang just got unifi coverage. But I am staying in high rise 20yr old building no support. Damn it.
*
Time for you or the condo RA to pressure the building management to change the infra to fiber. Otherwise, try to get enough signature and send to both TM and Time, whoever comes in to build infra will win the subscribers.

*
If the system is still the same, it needs about 30 days cooling period before you can apply back. I would suggest you apply first, then go to tmpoint to terminate on the day your new streamyx successfully install and running.

QUOTE(yhsiau @ Jul 20 2018, 08:09 PM)
TM dare us to terminate... when I found other solutions. I will show my middle finger to TM point staff.
Right now, I am considering Celcom Home Wireless Platinum package (monthly quota 1TB).
*
Lol it's not the fault of their staff. It's the management.

Thought of that. But both using lite package and i don't want spoil good neighbour relations over slow WiFi.
I managed to get a discount though. rm130 for 8mbps
*
New Streamyx sign up now is RM100 for 8mbps. You can really consider get a new line and terminate the existing one.

On the sharing part, if you are in good term with your neighbour, why not. Can get one of them to subscribe 100mbps and you split the monthly bill. Pull wire to have an access point to your house and setup proper Qos and it should be good to go.

*
RM20 to get phone line? I migrated streamyx to unifi with no additional charge even for phone line. What you should do is go to tmpoint and upgrade streamyx to unifi. that way you can migrate your old number to unifi. Your streamyx will be terminated upon successful installation of unifi.

*
I don't think they will offer you lower than RM88. Most of them here get RM88 as the lowest.
