too bad
tm should have just not giving any of this surprise at all
that's make it equal and no discrimination then
*
Discrimination is always there. imagine paying RM160 for 8mb streamyx, while your UniFi peers pay RM179 for 30mb, soon to upgrade to 50mb for free. Not to mention the RM88 for 4mb, which many people are still paying more.
Seriously with this lousy connection, rm20 for 1mb is enough.

just a satisfied customer from the offer.
please dont spoil it for us later tm tarik balik all offer how

Tarik balik lagi bagus. The offer sucks anyway, so nothing to be proud of. RM10 rebate for subscribing webe? free hypp tv? GemFive vouchers? no use.

It's either they give it to everyone or no one. If they can do for UniFi, they can do for streamyx too.

Actually.....first, during my uni = I apply for RM83 2Mbps Unipack, so I got a netbook.
Then contract over once I graduated....and earning poor man salary (still poor now.... cry.gif ), so I terminated the unipack, used my salary slip RM1200, re-applied the tablet plan RM88 4Mbps and got myself a tablet.
*
Is the promotion for this package still secretly available? earning poor man salary also, and want to convert my normal 512kb package.

This morning get a call from tm, think they want to ask about the complaint, turn out they want to survey for their live chat service lol.

Currently the stupid streamyx is getting down again since afternoon, and they SMS me to notify it will take a week to recover the service.

WTF tm, what are u doing ? Already don't have 8mbps and unifi coverage, and now u can't even maintain the shitty 4mbps service properly?
*
Make another complain to TM and MCMC, this time ask for rebate. Let them know that you are not paying full amount because of the downtime for 1 week. Don't just buta buta pay the bill and let them earn the money without service.

It doesn't help now because both MCMC and CFM just close the report. TM knows many people have no other choice but to stay, unlike the maxis case. so no matter how you draft your email, keep in mind they already have standard answer to copy paste to you.

is really unfair if you compare streamyx to other internet provider!!!
*
It has to be compare against the better one, so that there's improvement. the problem now is there is no direct competitors to TM, hence TM can take it easy without doing anything.
Pricy? never mind, as customer don't have much choice. Speed stuck at 1mb? never mind, they will still subscribe anyway. That's the mentality we are seeing today.

Same, my RM88 4Mbps streamyx area was covered by TM last year, but if you ask me.....I rather stick with RM88. I don't have enough 'disposable' income for anything higher than RM100.

Contrary to our useless (in my opinion) minister of communication claim of saying Malaysians prefer slower speed over higher speed, most of us PREFER FASTER SPEED, not slower.....if the faster speed price is affordable in first place.  bangwall.gif
*
Really, if anyone have some lobang to get that RM88 4mb deal, let me know. Imagine from rm66 512kb switching to 4mb, man damn expensive.

QUOTE(dr_zoidberg @ Feb 13 2017, 06:33 PM)
12 years ago we did apply for the Streamyx - the RM44 one per month 512k, 60 hours. Later we upgraded to the RM66 per month, still 512k but unlimited time.

We disconnected it on 2015 because we moved homes. Can't imagine the speed hasn't changed for years and the price has been the same. The TM should do better than that - the internet now has changed a lot and websites nowadays need more data and bandwidth as compared to 2005.

What's the worst I've seen? After I moved to a different area, the new place I have doesn't have phone lines. The developer's been messing up the underground canals and only a year later they installed the poles. The delay seemed to be also on the TM as they need to wait for a few more months to lay the cable as according to their "bajet".

So, total two years no phone lines, no streamyx, no Unifi. All because of lack of enforcement and problematic developers! Hopefully they lay the cables this month and done it by March!

Here's the article on that written by our resident: Malaysiakini article
FMT article

So guys, if you have Streamyx and get shitty fucking deals, keep fighting for better pricing, and I'm at your side! smile.gif
*

exactly what i'm still using now for almost 11 years, 512kbps rm66 package.

Reading some people suffering 384kbps streamyx in 2017 make my blood boils. damn greedy TM

with such slow speed, do you still need unlimited quota? mobile broadband is a lot lot faster especially with LTE
*
That's why it is important for TM to restructure and throw out all these slow packages. Leave only 2mb, 4mb and 8mb. And for those area where tM refuse to upgrade infra to support higher speed, then they should sell the 1mb for RM38 without quota limit.

I wonder when are they going to use at least ADSL2+ which can support up to 24mb?

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Feb 15 2017, 05:24 PM)
Yes, no upgrade. Multiple internal TM sources already confirmed it. There will be no speed upgrade for the rest of streamyx users except lucky 100k who live in KL/Selangor/Putrajaya.

There will be new unifi Lite package at 10Mbps which will be offered to streamyx users who live within unifi coverage, but you will not keep your current package price. This unifi lite package = pay for upgrade. Price is RM150 (GST exclusive).

The so called upcoming suprises are voucher (different discount value), webe (different RMXX off TM bill) and hypptv (channels repackaging) + new unifi lite package.

*Aside from the 'broadband improvement', there is rumour in TM = data quota will be implemented. How about 300GB sounds for Unifi 100Mbps?*  doh.gif
*
Seriously, Unifi lite at this price!! they should stop including the shitty hypp TV and lower the price. If they want to implement quota they better lower the price even more.

So....if anyone area is covered by unifi....better take RM179 offer before it lapsed.
Within 2 years.....as per budget, there might be price reduction......up to 50%....
*
Price reduction =quota limit. let's see, I'm sure TM will play this game.

QUOTE(mylinear @ Feb 15 2017, 10:45 PM)
I was reading the past couple of pages, I may have missed something. Isn't this Unifi Lite RM150 same as the old VIP5 RM149 which was upgraded to 10M as well?  So why are we surprised about the RM150 price for 10M?
*
because no free upgrade, and just think of it, RM150 for 10mb, and RM179 for 30mb [upgrade to 50mb later].

QUOTE(mylinear @ Feb 15 2017, 11:21 PM)
Ok, yes. I thought the comparison was between Unifi Lite and the Unifi 30 / 50.

This is in line with Streamyx pricing. 2 / 4 / 8 = 120 / 130 / 140. So new 10 = 150. There is this price gap between Streamyx and Unifi from RM140 to RM179 currently.  I was thinking there would be a lower Unifi entry level package. I won't be surprised there still may be later on say at RM159. The idea is to get Unifi users to upgrade and lock them in at RM179. Forget speed details. Its the monthly price that matters to them. This is why they removed the old VIP5 lower price  package. As you mentioned, they could even impose data usage limits later on.

If there are 100k Streamyx users in Unifi covered areas, question is why haven't they switched to Unifi? There are only a couple of reasons for that. It could be that the user does not need the faster speeds, maybe light user or hardly at home user. Maybe some don't want to do the installation which requires hacking the walls or will cost a lot for installation due to room location etc.

The other reason is that its not an affordable jump from say 1M = 110 to 30M = 179. Again forget the speed increase. Whatever the speed, you still have to pay the extra RM69 per month which is about 60% increase in price. While I'm sure most users here can afford the prices, there are some who won't be able to.  This is why I think there should be a lower priced entry level for Unifi.
*
totally agree, especially those who are on old packages, e.g RM88 for 1mb, and to pay RM179 or RM199 may not be so affordable.

I believe on April, they will tell the Streamyx users of 1mbps package: we are sorry that due to the infastructur of Streamyx, we are not able to provide you the Streamyx at the speed that higher than 1mbps due to technical issue. The agent and TM keep asked me to apply for Streamyx while waiting for Unifi or Streamyx Improvement Plan, but then I got the mail from TM that the imporovement plan are just available at the very limited area. I will keep reopen my complain until they can provide me higher Streamyx speed or Unifi, but I just realize Streamyx are not just enough for me as I need high speed on upload too while Streamyx maximum only can provide 512kbps...
*
even I am certain my area can support 4mb also they don't give free upgrade. We Streamyx users are being look down. Only those who pay for UniFi, no matter lower package, will be getting free upgrade.
They just do not see the need to upgrade those who are on cheaper package.

TM=monopoly, therefore hopeless. No ISP to compete, therefore users have to accept the paid upgrade if want faster speed.

Setakat beratus atau seribu dua orang buat report TM tak gegar lutut. Because fix broadband plan really less competition. But now that more telco began to show up with offers, people can always switch to wireless.
In fact, MCMC get their KPI up as they just close the report and said they manage to solve more than 90% of the complain.
