Actually, considering that the CA team has a wretched midfield, almost any other team is gonna dominate midfield and the chances. Is it so wise to press away chances that are most likely going to be yours?

as you know, his CA is too strong. the more chances you hv would very likely become his chances.
but if you press away. your aim is to kill off his chances, as well as your own. so this is going for the odd draw, hence the SP taker comes in to make the difference...

as a CAing team he's got nice balanced attacks and defence, powerful defence but his midfield is really lacking. and it will be his greatest downfall if he keeps up with this kind of ratings.

actually i agree with seorang.

his midfield is so lousy that once you hold 60% or more, it's actually pretty pointless to press because that 1 chance killed COULD be yours.

and in the event of unlucky-ness, you'll really need that chance.

look at how a CAing team could be beaten SS2 United - Royal Rovers 0 - 1 (his cup exit)

and codott, the problem with your team was you have imbalanced attacks. smile.gif

i know what you mean. but my point is, given the team that codott has, do you fancy his team having a decent chance to pull a win?
i can bet, whatever the outcome if codott wins, you would definitely say that he was lucky.
my opinion is that, why not take a gamble?

I was in the same division with codott and SS2 United for a few seasons. My experience told me that sometimes u manage to secure a few goals. But more often u r just giving him CA chances. Comparing passable/solid attack to WC/ET defense that even if u dominate 70% midfield it still doesnt guarantee u any chance.

Every match that I won against him I would consider as lucky win. sigh

EDITED :
oh ya, his midfield level can reach poor/weak depends on his formation.

yeah, referring to his team and assuming he's got better midfield

let's say 55% - 65% possession.

i'd rather he not use pressing to kill off the chances as the chance may be his. smile.gif when an opponent CAs, i still think is best to get as much chance you can as possible. (speaking from myself being a CAing team and how i would go against a CAing team tongue.gif)

but it's really debatable, i don't think you're wrong. neither do i think i'm wrong either. smile.gif the funny thing about the tactic PRESSING is that there's no way to gauge that it's successfully used as you can't know who's chances were pressed away.

EDITED : damn. danl80 unlucky la. hatstats 300+ and lost to UM with 220 hatstats. sad.gif

yes, u r right, the point with tactic PRESSING is that both yours and your opponent's chances are being pressed away.

however, although having a superior midfield, it would be hardly any chances you can get going against a very keng defence like SS2.
the thing that you probably rely would be SE chances, and that's where i also recommended a SP taker.

Defense is not overrated, cause nobody cares about defense. tongue.gif

That said, defense is nice, but the problem with playing defense first is that you're already less likely to score many goals, and every goal conceded costs you.

Play an all-out-offense, and even if you concede goals, you know you'll most likely score a few too.

I believe in all out offense team but i've been advised to have a defensive coach to boost my defenses since i'm a scoring trainer.

I think i should hire an offensive coach and further boost my attack. Score more than opponents! smile.gif

when i say defence is over-rated, i meant that people when see HIGH defence they're afraid already when in HT - defence quite often helps, but they're still not as helpful as attacks and midfield. sad.gif

look at the lastest round of our Cup. 2 stronger teams lost the game despite having a generally better team.

Myth, if you already have little / no defence then getting defensive coach is pointless. might as well get all the best attacks you can have.

hrmm. powerful team. i have no idea. only beat him with luck this season.

he's just got a free PIC on league and i think he's going to let OPLUS win on league game.

his weakness would be his imbalanced defence, lower midfield (compare to yours) and his bad tactic choice.

NOOOOO - you can't just go out and hire 5 more and hoping to gain more income!!!

what division are you in now? and how many supporters you've got?

cos hiring 5 means additional 30k a week.

counthing this coming Saturday to end of season, you'll have about 7 more weeks before it resets. that totals to RM 210k in total.

but will your weekly gain cover that? NO. not at all, not even close. i doubt even 10% of it. then when new season starts, supporter mood resets and you're gonna absorb more cost.

If you've 1670 supporters..... many recommend 1 spokesman per 250-300 supporters, so thats 5 spokesmen at least.

Many like getting more spokesmen cause your sponsorship income increases as much as it can after the supporter/sponsor mood reset.

If he's 17yo, with a solid primary (ie. winger), and passable secondaries, I'd say he stands a good chance if he starts getting trained in his primary right away.

Loddarstats are something similar to Hatstats. Some say they're more accurate because Hatstats gives to many points to teams with strong defenses.

And a 5-0 win today. smile.gif

i have no problem remaining in top 6 spots. smile.gif

i just feel like going down and have more winning streaks and happier crowd in Div III.

it isn't as profitable as you think, considering my sponsorship is only about 300k extra from when i was in Div III which could easily be off-set by winning more games in Div III.

Meh, I'm still in Oceania's V, where apparently its the easiest to be profitable.

Pretty sure I could be profitable in IV, but I'd need to make it out of V first.

Isn't it easier to get better cup runs in II than III though?

they're not as meaningful as good league runs IMO. biggrin.gif i rather get good league runs.

i'm probably the weakest team in Div II (based on salary), and it's not easy maintaining a run in cup and league at the same time.

at least redtooth is a PM trainer, i'm not!! tongue.gif anyway the sad part about my team is that despite being weak i manage to hold my ground, thus position myself in such a way that i don't get to see HOME game even if i reach Round 7 of cup. sad.gif

this season is my best chance in the cup as i dont think i can sustain further with the wages i have. i only have an average supporter base (3100) and a modest stadium capacity of 60k.

i would hv to sell my IMs to ease my wages next season, meaning my midfield ratings will drop next season. sad.gif

You're training defending with a 4-4-2, one league match a week, no friendlies, and with two 30+ year olds in your backline?

Its not going to be profitable, especially with 40+ players, and a utopian PM'er in your team.

considering to change to 4-3-3 or 3-5-2.
I already have 2 potential defenders in the making, 1 is 18 and 19, both are excellent in defending.

So, no real biggie there. I just need to sell off my Turkish defender and I'm ready to go! biggrin.gif

And also fire some jackasses.

Oh, about that 40 players thing, It's those youth player with inadequate skills. Dunno should I sack or sell?

If they're inadequate with nice secondaries and 17 or 18, they might sell. Any other age, fire.

If you're training defending, why are you considering a 4-3-3 or a 3-5-2? Many would advise a 5-X-X, because it maximises trainees, and thus, profit. Besides, with a utopian PM'er, you shouldn't have any problem competing in midfield for IV.

Playing friendlies with an entirely different backline doubles the possible number of trainees, and profit too.

Did he tell the GM before the ban that he and his brother both had accounts in HT?

As for 5-4-1 and 5-3-2, both have advantages and disadvantages.

Some like 5-3-2 CA with 2 OW, so it gives them 3 good attack sectors for CA. 5-4-1 floods the midfield more (so you get more possession), but obviously with only 1 forward, its harder to get a stronger central attack.

QUOTE(seorang @ Feb 6 2007, 03:43 PM)
If they're inadequate with nice secondaries and 17 or 18, they might sell. Any other age, fire.

If you're training defending, why are you considering a 4-3-3 or a 3-5-2? Many would advise a 5-X-X, because it maximises trainees, and thus, profit. Besides, with a utopian PM'er, you shouldn't have any problem competing in midfield for IV.

Playing friendlies with an entirely different backline doubles the possible number of trainees, and profit too.
*
I see..

Thanks mate! Before this I was constantly using 4-4-2 due to the weak midfield and wingers when I use 5-3-2, just trying to survive. heh, but ever since i accidently (yes, ITCHY FINGERS FTW!) bought me a utopian PM, so I think there will be no problem now.. I think...

He was in the Hattrick Masters i think..

2 Supernaturals IM'ers would give him more midfield with probably half the wages, even less if he can get local players.

He's got a +16 GD difference over you. You'd need to have to beat him by 8 goals when you guys meet just to even up the goal difference.

Sad to say, I'm not optimistic on your chances. That said, go for the win. Who knows, he might get unexpected draws or losses against teams he'd normally beat.

you might stroll past me with ease la... after the winning the cup now, i'm thinking of re-strategizing my long term plans and most likely would not be concentrating on the cup next season.

usually a couple of days, but being CNY now, our GameMaster (GM) may take a bit while longer to confirm them...
anyways, you can still login to see whether you have reg a team or not, otherwise read the game rules and check out the conference while you wait. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hmm.. My midfielder just got 2 yellows. Bastardo! I think my hunt for another midfielder shall continue.

Hi-ho silver, AWAY!

Currently only have formidables, outstanding, and one magnificento. I should try and find another one above outstanding. Or I should get a winger soon..

OR! Invest in mah stadium! bling bling.

My main 3 IMs are 2 outstandings and 1 brilliant. Though they're supported by a Titanic winger with formidable PM, and a magnificent WTM.

If you're that rich, just get a WC midfielder. Then you won't have to think about upgrading him for the next 3-4 seasons.

Oh shiznit. I think I can die playing with you in your league.

Anyhoo, a WC middy? I'll see and invest, but for now, as I'm stuck in IV 33, I guess i'll just let my middy be that way. I'm currently happy with my squad with my aging defender, and training my own player to replace my WC defender.

I think i'll upgrade my stadium first.

Is that a wise decision?

To upgrade my stadium instead of my players? O_o

This week, I pulled an inadequate (low) midfield playing away with irritated TS.

Peak midfield this season was a solid (high) at home on MOTS.

Why not?

That said, that match, it couldn't have been the team that got the solid (high), cause his IM got too many stars to be solid (high).

What does it matter anyway? You sacrifice everything with OCDs, WTMs, Def Forwards, just for midfield?

Can you guys believe that one of our U20 world cup players that was called and played has only TSI 250 with 19 yrs old already???

I can't believe in the first place, but when I looked into it further.....I realised that the player is from the Malaysia U20 coach team as well.....the truth speaks itself.....

The player is Akmal Vijayan (115404736)....check it out and you will know....

I feel very angry about this kind of unfair and unethic way of doing things....especially from someone we supposed to trust and handed over our nation pride to him....I would say Malaysia U20 coach had failed us in this case....unless he has his explanations....and I am willing to listen and know as well....

Ok folks. Time of the season again.

For those who have garnered promotions, winning their series, winning the cup competition, survived their series....congratulations!

To those that have been relegated, lost their cup matches and experiencing nervous breakdowns and unbelievable stress....do not fret. There is still hope for you.

Join the HT fraternities and seek help or blow your horns of glory during our seasonal End-Of-Season gathering :

Time : 8.30pm
Date : Friday, 23rd March 2007
Place : A & W PJ (Opposite Amcorp Mall)
Nearest LRT station is (hope I am not wrong) Taman Jaya

Hopefully all the HT sifus can be there as well to share your wealth of experiences with the other attendees.

We may even have a lucky draw for the night. Someone may just walk away with free supportership! Please spread the word to the rest.

Good idea. Maybe announcing it first at the forum and promising the supporter may actually encourage more EOS participant to come and discuss about the league.

Depends on what you want with the defender. If you want him to chase U20, then its not a good time. Otherwise, depends on skill and price.

How does one qualify for U20 or the national team? The team coach needs to pick them after we notify the coach? Or they are automatically notified? Just curious, it will be a long time till I can have that kind of player. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Regarding the youth system, if we chose to keep the old system and start the new youth system, are we allowed to revert back and maybe axe out the old system completely?

I have created a 8 teams league. This is to ensure that the league will end in 1 season time and doesn't bind you to just 1 league for a long time. smile.gif

codot will organise 2 leagues, 1 for Veteran 1 for newbie, therefore, dagg3r you can help. I suggest cadot invite for Veteran and dagg3r invite for newbie. The reason that we want to start in week 4 is that to give us a chance to pull some youth for the PreGen10. Anyway, the Youth Academy is still buggy, so starting in week 4 allows us to learn more before starting the league. No need to compete la... biggrin.gif

If the response is good we may be able to consider to expand the league size.

Those who has started the Acedemy can play friendly first...

btw: Election has started. Do exercise your rights.

To tell u the truth. the lower weekly cost of the youth academy is pretty enticing for me :S

the old youth system was not very successful for me.

should i start pulling GKs from the normal system? or Outfielders.

It might be a while before the fans see Twinkle's Colin Fevola again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 32 minute mark.

There are however some bugs in the Youth Academy which are worth to mention as some (far from all) users get them:
- Some users get an error when calling their scout
- Some users can not change training
- There seems to be a problem with changing league details (before the league is full)

seems like there are still alot of bugs...

Sad.....not even 15 minutes into cup game, 3-0 down. Opponent scored with the all their first 3 atks.

You must be really unlucky. Maybe the opponent doesn't have stamina in the 2nd half and hope you have. A comeback perhaps? icon_rolleyes.gif

Well, with the calibre of your team, you should be breezing past Round 3 by just closing one eye. There's no such thing as feeling painful if losing in that stage cos it won't happen to your team. smile.gif

Some rich team needs to go kamikaze by buying 20 divine players and dying with all of them.

some how is like Divine players are easier to get. But the weekly wages, can kill those team in small countries... Some manager just click buy only without looking at the weekly wages, thus.,... bankrupt.

Thanks for the player skill info guys.
With that big chunk of thing in his team, he still played 4-4-2 during cup match against a higher league team with 3-5-2. Obviously lost.
His midfield is now poor (very low) whereas mine disastrous (very high) mostly because I uses 5-3-2 CA, should I be pressing this coming weekend with 5-4-1?

Hey seorang, have seen you in the conferences at time, good luck with the election, seems like alot of people having a go as the Oceania coach is leaving is post.

Non-supporter still can't access to Youth Academy it seem...

Try again later. Today is the first day all user can have the youth academy, so the server is expected to be crowded.

Supporter have no in-game advantage, but got nice feature like logo, statistics etc. Supporter can also create a private league, but non supporter can join on invitation.

If you want supporter go to the supporter section in the main menu.

If you call the 1st scout and he offers you a player, you either reject or keep. If you reject, you can see the players offered by the other scouts, but you can't come back and choose the 1st player again.

If you keep, you can't see what the other scouts had.

Hey codottcomott, if seorang team is in it that mean your opening it up for international team as well right? can I book a place in the veteran league? for economy wise I think I will start the Youth Academy this coming Saturday.

EDIT:
dagg3r, your league already full?

If you call the 1st scout and he offers you a player, you either reject or keep. If you reject, you can see the players offered by the other scouts, but you can't come back and choose the 1st player again.

If you keep, you can't see what the other scouts had.

I have send invitations to a few people to ensure of my league's 12 teams. Please check in your youth academy's page and look for league invitation.

The league, as like codott's will be close on saturday morning so that can arrange for games. Those who are interested, please grab a seat from codott's newbie league or my league.

thank you. Let's start something new...

i'm thinking of selling him off, and getting a lower level-ed middy so i could train up and sell again, while in the meantime prevent myself from being relegated.

I'll think about it tomorrow at work. LOL. Too tired to think of anything atm,.

I have decided to sell the guy with 400k wages and import a supernatural IM who has way lesser wages.

I just hope that my bid doesn't get competed with :S

@goldie: well, i'll just show u my last matches stats. and i see 2-3 teams in my div having the same midfield rating as me. :S

@ch4o5, I suspect lower TSI but high ratings due to better secondaries and older players...

my GK alone hogs about 45% of my team's wages.

Wages 1 152 544
GK - Wage: 528 480 MYR/week. smile.gif that also his wages rose like 25% since last season. damn. previously total wages were only 1mil or so.

Wages 1 062 384 <=-- before season update.

hehe. i've increased my wages a bit for past 16 - 32 weeks.

anyway a few points to consider is that skill levels between magnificent and world class and supernatural COULD make a lot of difference on weekly wages but minimal impact on ratings.

world class forwards have nearly 2x the wages of magnificent forwards. smile.gif

check out PMkers as well.

and how about coach contribution? defensive coach contributes more, my stats were even higher prior to my change of coach. smile.gif

Hey guys I'm running a NT coach campaign. Please vote for me thanks.

Although I'm relatively young compare to other hattrick regulars. But I'm very tactically sound and that can be proven by my last Piala Malaysia outing where I reached the last 16 with lowest wages among the 16 teams.

Of course what matter most to me is I've always wanted to serve my country..

I'm sorry my friend, I've been distracted this week - personal problems, you know - and I can't give you any meaningful new information.

In my opinion, Zailani bin Yunus has the potential to improve considerably, he just needs someone to give him a break.[COLOR=red]he has 2 satrs

Make sure you give Wan Rohaimi bin Mohammed lots of chances, because he is a quality player.[COLOR=red]he has 3 stars

Zailani bin Yunus had a great game this week, don't forget to mention that to him.

Samin bin Abd Rani is a stand up guy. I like him.

When the boys don't know what to think about something, they tend to turn to Ahmad Izwan bin Man for his opinion.

The situation leading to Twinkle's penalty in the 58th minute was much debated after the match, but the competent Jan Peeters didn't hesitate to score the 1 - 3 goal. Twinkle's Mirko Goycochea cut towards the middle in the 60th minute, recieving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, putting the 2 - 3 goal away. 70 minutes into the game, Floris-Jan Blog came close to evening the score with a dangerous shot that went just wide of the bar

so close... using 5-4-1 while opponent 3-5-2, my team dominated the half time possession as well, Floris-Jan Blog my main striker with a decent playmaking skill is put to be midlfield to cover my injured middy, man, maybe I should have bought a decent middy instead...

Almost all the way down to the corner flag, bmkid's Nicholas Beland somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Pini Holtzman, who struck for 1 - 1. Pini Holtzman's name was chanted throughout the stadium after his 88th minute goal up the middle gave bmkid the 2 - 1 lead.

My youth coach report:

It's time for our weekly chat!

It's been a quiet week here. The players have been working well, but I can't give you any details on their progress.

I like Hairil Zamri bin Jamlus, he could become our top player if we help him develop his potential. (1 star)

It was endearing to see Mohd Nafuzi bin Salman in this week's game, he really gave us all he's got. (0 star)

One thing I can say about Syamsul bin Yusoff is that he is very calm and peaceful. (0 stat)

My youth coach comments:

Hey there,

Same old, same old. Check back next week and I hope I have something interesting to report again.

Did you see Rosdi bin Mustaffa (1.5 star, 33 minutes) in this week's game? He did really well, given his capacity.

Abdul Halim bin Musa (1 star, whole game) had his birthday this week, and his mother came over with a really tasty birthday cake for the clubhouse. What a nice gesture.

That's all for now, talk to you next week.

perhaps 'almost all' wasn't the best way to describe it but it sure enough says that i never said ALL. biggrin.gif

hehe. if you noted my post, i never mentioned ALL. i just mentioned ALMOST ALL. wink.gif that because i know that Adrian's Best got votes from there too.

perhaps 'almost all' wasn't the best way to describe it but it sure enough says that i never said ALL. biggrin.gif

btw 13 teams only? hrmm. i always thought there's more from KMC. biggrin.gif oh well nmind.

anyway, today my friend from Div III (Real Alonocara) was beaten by a Div V team.

my coach report:
QUOTE
All is well here, hope the same is true for you.

It's been a quiet week here. The players have been working well, but I can't give you any details on their progress.

In this week's game, Kamarulzaman bin Hamir (1.5 stars) played close to his potential. Very well done!

Feel free to let your boys try different positions, but I really think you should try giving Mohd Nafuzi bin Mohd Hanifa (tikam him to keeper  sweat.gif ) some Playmaking training, too.

Hi! These are my notes for the latest match,
Now am planning for the next youth friendly... moving players around. Those with 1 star also will be moved to another playing position.

On top of it, one needs to compare the individual players performance when the player is in the same form. Otherwise the comparison might not be fair.

more importantly you must understand how player stats contribute to the stars. smile.gif then you'll figure out positions easier.

if an IM played offensive has 1.5 stars, playing him defensive / normal may result in more or lesser stars. then you can also play him on wing to see if he has winger skills.

now assuming stars in youth match work the same as stars in the team, then i think i have a great player with me.

my player

Alfred Scherer [1 booking accumulated] [Add this player to your bookmarks]
TSI = 1 960 , 32 years, solid form
Has excellent experience and passable leadership abilities [Powerful]

Stamina: excellent Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: formidable Passing: inadequate
Winger: poor Defending: poor
Scoring: poor Set pieces: poor

gets only 2.5 stars when playing OCD. note the form, experience and other stats. (just dropped from outstanding PM)

a junior player of mine with inadequate form and obviously disastrous experience, gets 0.5 stars when playing OCD.

so comparing both, i think he MIGHT be a great player to pull.

*cross fingers*

ouhh. that's the information i'm looking for.

i did read up here and there it's just crazy that youths get like 6 - 7 stars as keepers.

doesn't make sense, that's like a supernatural GK already. smile.gif

ah? what conclusion? anyway since sheepie here already replied i'll add a new post instead of editing.

so back to the topic. i checked HT-global a few days back and they have like 6 - 7 star players on GK slot.

from the stars given i'm seriously doubtful, just as my earlier post when i compare that a well skilled player on OCD has only 2.5 stars. smile.gif

HiTechBakChi mentioned - every 2/3 blue star get by a youth, equal to 1 star by senior...

i think that's not correct. if 2/3 = 1 doesn't seem right. and you can't see 2/3 in the first place. haha. i think HTBC meant was every 2 to 3 stars = 1 star

so if we go based on average, that'll be 2.5 stars = 1

with this, a 7 star player would be equivalent to about 3 stars on a senior, that's so that comes to about passable keeper level. smile.gif

so is it safe to say 2.5 stars = wretched core skill? maybe.......hehe. let's wait and see.
