i brought it into wellness spa, no problem....but they used disposable paper container....

ambank discontinued access to both tgm and ppl gateway...

klia ppl shower "under renovations" again....

these are limited to 5 entries per year....ambank signature cards still the best, unlimited entries without conditions, not just to local lounges but internationally....i have used in changi, bne, tpe...

for klia2 tgm and ppl gateway, i just use other cards....

that's the problem with ambank....they have 2 sets of similarly named cards.....the priority banking one is branded as "signature" and carries no conditions on use...an unfortunate term, since there is also a visa signature card...

anyone knows where this is?....appears to be the same level as ppl gateway....i noticed the opposite end of the ppl gateway floor was boarded up for a while....

hopefully this will ease the overcrowding at ppl gateway....which is actually quite small....

also, the open plan suggest this new lounge is open access?....like tgm public restaurant?

ppl has no presence in thailand....

it's has dropped from 180k to now only 120k pa, like all the other banks....nothing exclusive anymore...

They have significantly devalued the benefits already, from priority pass to ppl access for all including supps, to now 5 times only for principal....

Never used, but I remember at one point, I saw a notice that offered use for a figure extra....not sure if it's a discounted rate....did some calculations and decided better to just get a 6hr block at the transit hotel....

Ambank has no more access to the land side lounges...which means no access flying domestic in KLIA2....

Don't think other banks made any changes... Ambank had to for rather obvious reasons....I have always maintain it is not sustainable to give unlimited free entries to lounges in landside without limitation to travellers only.... people just treat it as a free meal....

They announced it to all card holders via email...

And in the list of lounges covered, ppl gateway and tgm gone....they have added Rome but not Melbourne....

all airside lounges still accessible....

airports generally are divided into 2 broad areas...land side which means areas open to everybody...check in, arrival wait etc....

airside refers to the secured areas where ONLY travellers can access....so generally means after security/immigrations....if you do NOT have a boarding pass, you cannot enter....and also, all staffs working in the airside needs passes and security checks....

technically, airside in international terminals also means OUTSIDE the country, as you have cleared immigration....

ppl has several lounges in klia2....at the landside, they have ppl gateway, and also manage tgm....and the newly opened aerotel and aerotel ppl....

at the ariside, they have ppl at l gates, wellness spa, and also manage the bar....

obviously for airside lounges, ONLY travellers can use....but the landside facilities, they do NOT insist you must be travelling to use...so many people just go use/eat....

if a card has restrictions, like 5 times annually, then it's ok, people will likely reserve use to when they actually travel....

ambank has no restrictions on how many times you use...

the main problem with both klia and klia2 is that, there is NO lounge available at the domestic airside...no space available...

It's a matter of time before more banks remove the landside lounges from their list...too much abuse....

I think ppl/aerotel is shooting itself in their own feet by not being strict with access....if they deligently only allow bone fide passengers with boarding pass to enter, as is the original intention of airport lounges, then banks will be more willing, and it is a real perk... KLIA2 is unique in having landside lounges....

Hence the loophole and abuses....

The problem lies with ppl itself, not the banks....

With all other airports, the ppls are at airside....so obviously only passengers with boarding passes can use....

But KLIA2 has 2 (now 3) landside lounges which is accessible by non travellers.... although the use of lounges is assumed to be for passengers, people not traveling started to enter the landside lounges and ppl accepts them....of course the more people use, the more money ppl makes from the banks...

The banks can insist customers must show boarding passes, but have no means of enforcing it on ppl...those with limited entries will have their liability capped at the allowed number of times.... Ambank has no cap....
