at least the showers works....a month ago, it was closed (toilets too) for "renovations"....is it any different?

that sucks....they had hot water last time, and after "renovations" it's only cold?....lol

On the other hand, I hope ppl up their services to make it more "premium"....and less people is better....

When I first started using the klia ppl, it was nice, not crowded, good food, nice shower rooms with amenities ..

It has become a fish market now....

The vast majority of people using ppls in KLIA enter with cc perks....with a smaller group business class passengers of airlines contracting ppl as their lounge....I have never seen anyone enter by paying....(although I have seen that overseas)...

Once cc starts cutting back on their ppl entry perks, there will be less people....

When I first started using, it was through maybank's visa infinite priority pass program....and eligibility was rm180k pa.....it has since dropped to 120k....

Now people with 36k can get cards that allows entry too....

That's what airport lounges are to begin with....for airlines' pointy end of the aircraft passengers, and their frequent flyers....

Third party lounges was a more recent invention, and they accept pay per entry...they see a market...banks see benefit in this, so they contract with the lounges to allow their "atas" customers access....

As more people travel (and able to travel), it became a very attractive tool to attract customers to bank and owe cc bills....and more banks started to offer the perk, lower the eligibility criteria, and even offer access with their lower tier cards....and you end up with the current fish market scenario....

The people making money out of all this are the lounge operators....ppl group saw the potential and quickly expanded their portfolio...but their main bases are still Msia, where the founder is from, and HK, where he is based and first started the lounge business....

There are international lounge access operators who contract lounge access all over the world, and accept members by membership fees....eg pp, and loungekey...,

Yes, by definition, airport lounges are designed for atas people....

i thought the new rules was vague about this, but everybody jumped to the conclusion it's per cardholder, not per card....

good to know it's separated.....so two access per day....

yes, that is correct, and yes, likewise, i avoid using cards from the same bank, on the same day, to avoid potential issues...

yes, i will cancel the normal cards once i have received the signature cards....there is really no reason to keep....and i am not sure why they will offer money for people to keep and not use...

If you travel after AA move to T4, you CANNOT access the lounge on arrival, as T4 has separation of arrivals and departures, and the ppl lounge is in the departure area....

Looks like firefly is not moving to T4, so you can still have use of the ppl at T1 and tgm at T2, if you have access....

There are no lounges in Changi landside....all airside

i think the t2 outlet is the wellness spa....but that us sited on the main floor, level 2....

I think all the ppl in Msia need to enter pin, and the use the cc terminal to authenticate cards by charging 1 Sen....

Not sure about gm as they seems to be not really in the ppl network.... cannot credit arrture points with GM visits....

the old rule of unlimited and unconditional entry continues for ambank signature priority banking card holders and their supplementary cards....

The conditions for the two may be different....don't even know there is priority banking in maybank..... thought it's private banking...

Hmm.... didn't know that...and just looked it up, appears they segment the 2 upper levels poorly...both seems to coexist in the same centres...

Apparently RHB wmc/Vs also allow subs to enter, albeit local ppls only, max 5 to a year...
