each bank has it's own arrangement with ppl for access....and that arrangement do not necessarily include all properties under ppl....

ambank is the best, it includes all properties all over the world....

maybank does not include bne...

rhb band only cover local locations...

I am referring to their arrangement with ppl group....ppl does not have outlets in Thailand and Indonesia....

If you want worldwide cover, then get the priority pass from some banks.... maybank used to give this card for vi, which enabled me to use lounges in ICN, NRT, IST, DXB, MUC, mad, amongst others.... unfortunately they withdrew the perk 1 year ago....

I don't think anyone here is going to pay for lounge access....this thread by title, is about free access courtesy of cc....and on that basis, the Ambank cards are the best....

Ppl has quite a wide network of lounges now, but they are noticeably missing in some countries....but being semi-msian outfit, they have corner the domestic cc market....

Priority pass has a much wider international portfolio of affiliated lounges, but it obviously cost the banks more....it is also subscription based, ie the banks has to pay, even if the care holder never even use the card once....whereas ppl is entry based....so for those who never use the lounges, the bank pays nothing....

you can buy Priority pass access at usd249 for 10 entries....or usd399 for unlimited entries...but i will never want to pay for this...when maybank was giving free, it was good....lol

Generally, they will verify the holder of the card is present...so you can use 2 of your cards and bring someone in....but you cannot lend your card to that someone to get in, if you are not physically present....

Penang has 2 lounges, one each in domestic and international areas...

Klia only has one in international... domestic no access....

Kuching only has one in domestic..... international no access....

and you believe them, over sifus here?...lol

but seriously, that is one blind spot in their portfolio....they really should start a domestic lounge at klia...

The ppl gateway room rate is so expensive, cheaper to just get a room at tune hotel.... unless maybe you just want one block (6hrs)....

the bar is part of the plaza premium network...so i suppose it makes sense to utilise it as source of cooked food instead of doing it separately at the spa....

previously, the choice of food is rather restricted at the spa....i have a proper meal at tgm, then spa for shower and drinks (got beer)....

i believe they have a limit of one entry per calendar day, per card...so if you have 2 cards, you can still do that...

Note it's only accessible on domestic flights only....

ppl gateway is open 24hrs and that will be your best bet...although your entry is technically only for 3 hrs....

Yes, they have lounge chairs you can rest in...

Am in ppl gateway....asked if can enter if no boarding pass, was told yes, but will need to show some proof of identity, eg passport or ic....

So looks like there is no definite rule that only travellers can enter....

which is why i support the rule to insist on a boarding pass...but as far as the outlet is concerned, the more customers, the better....

this issue is unique only to klia2, where there are 2 outlets in the landside...all other ppl properties in msia are in the airside, so obviously must be flying, otherwise cannot go past security...

i am still waiting for ambank to curtail their "promotion"....it was supposed to be a promotion only until end of last year....before that, there was the condition of minimum 3 swipes overseas, to qualify...

Based on the above, both....I have entered both within the same transit, but with different cards though....

I bank with both, and will have duplicate accounts and CCS if they merge, and will need to rationalize...now no need....lol

Ambank has the widest range of overseas ppl lounges available for use...

still wondering when they will reimpose conditions/restrictions....

i have stayed up to 4+ hr without problem....it's busy and i don't think they can keep track of who and when...

however, for an overnight stay once at changi, i had to swipe 2 cards to make it 6 hrs....and stayed 7 hrs....

Overnight lah, so they ask and will know...needs 2 separate cards....

No space to improve...the only thing good is the curry mee....lol
