wonder how long it has been down....

I have warned that misuse of the perk will not be sustainable in the long run and it's a matter of time before the original conditions are reimposed.

So here they are....with stricter conditions of rm500 spend instead of 3 foreign swipes....

And as I have pointed out before, the land side lounges are the most subject to abuse, and ppl is not strictly enforcing restrictions to travelling customers only...hence removal....

Which unfortunately is bad for domestic travellers....

I have always said that PPL should have been more strict with who are allowed to enter....but since they earn for every entry, it is not in their interest to be restrictive....

Now by removing the landside ppl and tgm, they have penalised the domestic passengers....

I would have preferred if they restrict the number of entries, instead of card usage conditions....

In airports where there is no separation of arrival and departure, yes can use on arrival.... KLIA and Changi are examples...

Where separated, then of course on arrival, you have no access ...eg KLIA2, Penang, and most other airports....

Yes, you can use another card to bring in another person....

can also in changi....

KLIA PPL is open 24hrs....but of course don't expect cooked food during the early morning hours until when the businessmen crowds start coming in about 5am....

On international flights, once you best immigration, you have NO access into the common domestic arrival/departure area.... so no access to the lounge....in fact the international departure area had nothing except a pathetic little duty free liquor shop....

I am surprised there is a ppl now in T2 of Changi.... wasn't there early last month....

They have removed all the land side lounges at KLIA2....as well as tgm at Changi....

But the new restriction on eligibility will not affect those private banking customers with the signature vi (and the new wmc) ....not to be confused with the lower category visa signature card....

The problem is, for some reason, many pb customers were never issued the signature card, only the "normal" ones... didn't make any difference in the past as there was actually none....but now they have differentiated the signature cards, many pb customers are upset....

I understand Ambank is on the process of upgrading their cards....

You are right as far as Ambank in concerned, but the terms priority/private/premier/whatever banking are used differently meaning different things by different banks....

I used the term private banking because I am private banking with aminvestment bank....and not priority....so they gave me "normal" cards....but they tell me they are now automatically enrolling all private banking customers into priority banking and reissuing the signature cards, including the newly launched signature wmc....

I actually don't know....I have long standing geared USD bonds with the investment bank long before they actually had private Banking....so when they started private banking, I was migrated over....and looks like now also enrolled into priority banking...all by default...

I can tell you I do NOT have 1mil usd invested with them....like I said, it was a very old relationship, and I think they just grandfathered me in....lol

Yes, dragging their feet about this...keep getting the "looking into it" reply.... can't blame my officer, since he's with the aminvestment bank....

The signature brand had only vi before....the wmc was only recently launched....maybe that's why I was given the normal cards....

I am private banking and not priority....so when I applied, for both cards, they gave me the normal ones... perhaps because I am not priority, and perhaps because they don't have priority wmc then....

This is private banking with aminvestment bank, not the retail Bank....no cc service....was only last year they decided to tap into this group and offered cc....but still have to go through the retail bank....

I have no idea what the requirements are....just have some geared USD bonds from a long time ago....

Tgm is landside....

What's the point of the lounge then?....

So the wellness spa don't provide any food anymore? Drinks?

It is nowadays so easy to get cc and every ah Chong, Muthu and Ahmad can enter the lounges, it's nothing special anymore...

And the "perks" in the lounges are also eroding... no shower facility....sometimes so crowded, no place to sit....with warm air-conditioning....

Plaza premium must be making a lot of money from this....

I had the opportunity to use the QF lounge at Changi recently, am very impressed with the range of food and drinks (etoh)....and 18 shower rooms.... yes, 18

Now, that's premium....

Besides the Msian ppls, I have been to tpe, sin and bne ones..... definitely more "premium" than the run down crowded and noisy msian ones...

The tpe shower rooms was especially nice, they give you a basket with the towels and full range of amenities....and wine as well... although limited range....
