Can deduct AUD36 from the bill

Bro, are you having SCB VI?
Thinking of joining their priority banking for this card.
Any thought?
HK PPL food is quite average.
Can't compare to other lounges in HKIA.
Even the hawker food (inside airport) is much better, especially if you craze for HK local food.
*
You can download Loungkey apps. That way, doesn't matter in what airport, you can always find out where to go.

I have only been to a few of European, middle east and South Asia's airport lounge. I would say the KLIA's PPL isn't too bad.

Lounge maybe, but not TGM & Flight Club which are under PPL.
They do allow entry to Changi TGM.
I think SCBWM no, it only allows unlimited entry to PPL in KLIA and KLIA2
SCB VI yes
*
I think last time with Priority Pass, you can get into Flight Club. So how does Flight Club compares with PPL in KLIA?

You could still get in flight club with Priority Pass now. Flight club is better in the sense that it is less crowded. Food quality is better but not so many choices compared to PPL. Place is smaller and chairs are restaurant like chairs, not so comfort to sofa type available in PPL. Overall, I would still prefer PPL in KLIA compared to Flight Club, unless PPL is already full.
*
Does Flight Club have showers? Great for late overnight flight.

LoungeKey allow flight club entry. Just went in last week.
No. Like a restaurant type. But better service and they serve drinks. Sama sama is the best but some distance away.

Only ppl has the shower facilities but long queues.
*
Interesting because I just checked with LK's app and FC wasn't listed.

As for shower, book first before you go for the food and drink and rest. By the time you done that, you turn should have come.

yes, have SCB VI and one of the best card for unlimited lounge access but need to maintain AUM to be entitled for unlimited access. Can pm me if interested to join
*
Yes, AFAIK, SCB VI is the best card for lounge access that I know of. Unlimited. 1000 lounges worldwide, even KLIA2 Landside lounges.

You are also required to spend RM 10K per year on the card.

QUOTE(peri peri @ Sep 7 2018, 03:13 AM)
Sounds cool, just browse through the SCB VI, but how to eligible the rm250k AUM? can deposit a 250k FD to fullfill the said AUM?

Rm10k spending to get the RM800 AF waived is like a steal deal
*
Saving account. Current account. Investment. FD. All can be added together to achieve RM 250K

But do note the lounge entitlement is only for the Principle Card. Unlike Ambank that allows your supplementary cards to access lounges also.

I prefer to shower before flying....

The mas domestic golden lounge used to have a shower but after refurbishment, they inexplicably removed it!....don't understand mas sometimes....it was useful for people who were out whole day, to freshen up before flying back to their hometown...
*
MAS have a domestic lounge in KLIA? May I ask, where?

I only know of one at KLIA's airside.

Yes. There is more. Travel Insurance. You don't have to use it to buy air ticket to get insured by MSIG, unlike other card. As long as you used it once while overseas, you are covered. Been there, done that.

And for purchases overseas, you get 15 or 30 days coverage on the item. Luckily, never have to do that yet.

Recently I bought air ticket with MBB Amex Reserve.
Called CS for travel insurance detail.

For luggage lost and flight delayed, you need to use the card to swipe for necessary stuff and it is claimable (keep and submit your receipt).
"Family" covered only your spouse and kids (less than 21yo), traveling together with you (parents not applicable).
This one I think most of us understand.

I was surprised he told me, for accident coverage, it is only applicable for OUTBOUND journey!
During your stay in overseas, you are NOT covered!
And the return journey also not covered.
I always assume that if we are buying a return ticket, we are automatically covered from the moment we fly, till we get home.

Can anyone confirm this? Thanks!
*
I and I assume the vast majority of people don't read the fine details in the policy. Anyway, I did a quick glance and it says "during the trip".

Hi. Got a question. Assuming your incoming flight landed KLIA around midnight and you have a next day early morning connecting flight out of KLIA. Probably a 7 or 8 hour stopover in KLIA. The luggage requires collecting and then re-checkin the next morning because the 2 flights are on different airlines.

My intention is, to stay on the Airside and not collect the luggage and kill some time in PPL. Only the next day early morning went to collect luggage for re-checkin to connecting flight. Is that doable? What happen if you don't collect your luggage immediately from incoming flight and only do so 7 or 8 hours later?

Anyone done that before?

It depends on whether the 2 airlines have interline agreement....if yes, you can check through....if not, or the foreign airport check in agents refuse to do for you (as it happened to me several times despite single ticket multiple airlines bookings), you need to exit, collect bags and recheck in....

Not sure what happens if you don't pick up your bags....have seen bags just left in the open next to the carousel....but in Changi, they will collect the unclaimed bags (the officer says after 3-4 rounds nobody pick up, it's removed) and stored in the unclaimed bags office....and you can pick up later....or if FSA, you can actually go to the transfer desk in transit area and show them the tags, and they will look for your bags and retag them....but then, they are the world's best airport....

The 3rd alternative, if the 2nd sector airline allows early check in, is collect your bags, go straight recheckin, then re-enter the secured area....

Otherwise either come out and stay outside, or take a chance with your bags still around the next morning.... remember klia is a no rank airport with a known history of pilfered bags ...
*
Have encountered several time. Most airline only open their check in counter about 2 hrs or so before flight. No chance of early check in sad.gif

I even once have a MAS flight with long overnight connection and they will not check my luggage through to the next morning's flight.

If you purchase ticket as 1 trip, ie Pg - HK (via KL), usually no need collect your luggage, they will transfer into your next flight.
If you purchase ticket separately, yes, you need to collect your luggage.
Nevertheless, do confirm with airline counter / staff upon check in.

Do take note on some overseas airport, where their international and local flights are in different terminal and you have to collect your luggage in between.
*
Couldn't remember when but I once have a same ticket with late arrival and next morning connecting flight. Despite both being MAS flights, they refused and insist I took out the luggage and re check-in

This would be a selling point. FD rates are board rates though. Never heard SC had any promo rates for FD, like all foreign banks.
*
Once in a blue moon, they do. The last one I know of was, 200K for 3 months gives you pretty good rate (couldn't remember how much)+ an ipad.

In my case, I was advised or asked to collect the luggage around midnight and re-checkin the next morning. Probably because the luggage will be left with them overnight, not same day.

QUOTE(charlesj @ Sep 9 2018, 09:33 AM)
The question we are discussing is if we have to collect luggage after first leg, while waiting for next flight the next day (or 8-10 hours later).
After collecting luggage, I think we have no way to enter airside again, hence we need to drop the luggage but usually the counter only open 3 hours before flight.
*
Yap, this is my exact problem using KLIA. Many years ago MAS counter staff told me, if my flight is with MAS at KLIA, I can check in at any time implying I can check in may be 24 hr ahead? But recently I asked again and they said "no".

My dad is using CIMB Preferred VI, and we just went in PPL without "voucher", both local and overseas.
Just like normal CC, swipe at reception desk.
I am not sure if he is getting any voucher in the first place.

Do note that normal CIMB VI - 8x PPL access + 100k spending/yr (the list only shows local + Sg)
For CIMB Preferred VI - 6x PPL access (private wealth) or 4x access (Preferred) + unlimited in Sg, Indo, Thai, Camb.
However, from the PPL list, it shows only local + Sg.

Regarding Supp card access to lounge, only Ambank and PBB stated clearly in their T&C.
For the rest, I can't find any related info.

For Ambank, EACH Principal and Supp card holder is eligible for 5x entry (ie for VI)
If you have both VI and WMC, you have 5+5 entry

For PBB, Principal and Supp card are pool together for total 3x entry (ie for VI)
Worse still, total entry remains 3x if you have both VI and WMC

RHB, I heard a few times for Supp card, but can't find any info from their website.
Are they having separate or combined access (ie x5 for VS)?
Citibank, first time, please share more info. Thanks!
*
Tried 1+1 at the same time with the same lounge at Heathrow with VI and WMC. Declined. Can only use 1.

Good info. I thought Citigold would start with Platinum card first. Anyway not for discussion here.

At least Ambank & CIMB VI waived fees of 600+ for priority customers and have better benefits for PPL access.

Thanks for sharing the info! notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

If lounge access is important, then AFAIK Chartered Bank priority VI is the best. 1000 lounges free worldwide. No limit. But only for the Principal card holder.

On a side note, Prestige give you a free ride home using KLIA Executive Limo.
Premier Miles give free ride home using KLIA Budget Limo.

Consider worthy if you use the free ride home monthly.

Standard Chartered Priority VI also have some sort of RM 80 cash back for airport car ride and KLIA Express etc. But i have never used that so may be someone can advise me how that works.

I have the WM and you need to swipe 3x overseas any amount to be entitled to the cashback. The cashback is capped at RM80 per month, only one swipe per month (meaning the first swipe) is entitled to the cashback. Cashback will usually be credited in the following month
*
So I suppose you have to use your SCB to pay for the airport ride and inform SCB?

You need to use your SCB card to pay for the ticket. Best if you pay over the counter. It will be automatically tracked, don’t need to inform scb

Thanks. May be next time if I have too much time to kill, I could take a airport limousine to city center.

Does it work for Grabcar ride from City to Airport as well?

What if spend 6 times overseas retail purchases with card in January. Does that entitle one ride in January and one ride in Feb? Because the return flight might be on 1st Feb.

T&C
If a Principal Cardholder performs the first transaction for Airport Limousine, which is posted in the month of January and also meets the spends requirement in the same month, this qualifying requirement will be applicable for the month of January.

Assuming the Principal Cardholder performs another transaction for Airport Limousine, which is posted in the month of February, the previous qualifying requirement met in January will not be considered as a qualifier entitlement even if the spends were performed in less than 30 days as customer needs to refresh the qualifier requirement each month to qualify for each Cash Rebate
