Perhaps time for u to say goodbye to CIMB
*
Already done on the same day. Withdraw everything after filing complaint via phone and e-mail.
Luckily I have Maybank, Affin Bank & RHB near by for future transaction (ASNB withdrawal).
My stressful days are over.

Surprisingly my relationship with them is still gud  tongue.gif

It's not a lost to cut them off as I've got all the ASX units safe and sound in my passbook. The staff dealing with ASNB are excellent except the manager.

For me, affin + maybank is the way to go. Hardly system down and most of it is free. thumbup.gif

OT, Maybank have lots of people but their m2u is not bad.
*
In future , most probably will stay with Maybank for withdrawal only. It's <5mins steps away from my home. The best time to visit Maybank for top up/ withdrawal is at off peak hrs.
Yes, I like their M2U too.

Affin bank is the best for top up. Their system is still temperamental as what had happened on 1/9/16.

In due course, I presume u won't c the BM face again
*
No chance for me to visit them now/ in future. A very unforgettable horror experience. I'm lucky to have many banks near my home. For future ASX withdrawal, I can easily drop by Maybank/ Affin when I need $$.

QUOTE(filage @ Sep 8 2016, 03:47 PM)
Did you also complain to ASNB?
CIMB HQ also no follow up the case with you? Normally if complain to the HQ, there will be a open case. Then they must provide the necessary things or follow up solutions to close the case.
*
I only shared my horror experience with ASNB staff but didn't file a complaint with them as I felt CIMB should response as it was their branch manager involved.
The only quick response I received was my request to close my 2 weeks old CASA after the incident which was done promptly.

1- Not everyone has the time to go try every day
2- Some people got 5-7 figures to top up
3- Units are limited, hence the kiasi/kiasu attitude
*
Trying to top up 3-4-5-6 digits, took me 1 week- 2 months of continuous multiple visits to several banks per day. Hard work but now I can sit back and reap the reward on every dividend date. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(ivzh @ Sep 10 2016, 09:02 AM)
hi, am new here, switching some of my UT to ASNB.. I manage to top up some unit in AS1m yesterday in the PNB office, usually hw u guys top up >10k? all by hand carry cash?
*
I've carried >10k on couple of occasions to ASNB & banks but always carried my big giant umbrella with me.

QUOTE(Cherry16 @ Sep 10 2016, 09:37 AM)
This week is a lucky week for me.  Managed to open two accounts i.e. ASW & ASM. Thanks and appreciated for those who shared their experience.

On Wed decided to go ASB HQ to try my luck (hoping it will be better 'luck' there) however I was down hearted as it was raining that morning and on top of that there was a train service disruption which caused massive commuter jam at the train station.

So I changed my plan to dropped off at KL Sentral and try my luck at tiger bank (I don't put much hope on it though).  Reach there around 11:00 am.  Service there is quite good as I don't have to wait long around 15 mins.  Bank staff also nice.  I told them I don't have any ASNB account and would like to try open any one of the three eligible accounts but tell them ASW is my first priority.  Bingo ! my try was successful and staff told me I am lucky... Open with initial 100u + small 4 digits  rclxms.gif

Planned to go ASB HQ to open ASM account yesterday.  Again raining in the morning and this time slightly better as train service is fine. Reached ASB HQ before 8:15am and there is one person ahead of me.  Yesterday not many people probably due to the rain.

ASNB HQ staff are friendly and helpful.  At the Q counter I asked whether there is any designated counter to open new account as I want to open ASM account (if possible) otherwise will try ASW top up.  Q counter staff said can perform both activities at any counter thus get one number is sufficient. When my number was called, I expressed my wish to open ASM account (1st priority) else AS1M account.  After she checked, she asked me which one I want (guess both ASM and AS1M are available) and I told her ASM.  The account opened with initial 100u + 4 digits (dumped all my carried cash in)   thumbup.gif  . By the way, can vote for good service for counter staff thumbsup.gif

On my way out, I also thanked the friendly Q counter staff and he asked whether I managed to open the new account and told him I did.  Left ASB HQ happy and contended (despite the rainy day)  rclxm9.gif

Next step to join the club on top up...... brows.gif

P/S For those who wish to open new account, can try go ASB HQ as I personally feel better chance there.
*
Congrats. Should have try to open AS1M with 100u at the same time and keep the book in case if you can't get top up for ASM / ASW later. All top up are base on luck and timing.

If you have all 3 passbooks- AS1M, ASM & ASW, just bring all to the bank/ PNB and let them top up whichever is available. Don't just wait for AS1M.
Also, be willing to 'shop' around, going to different banks to try or try multiple trips/ camping at specific bank/ PNB.
With the recent ASW ex dividend, I believe it'll be much easier to top now together with ASM.

Some lucky investors managed to top up multiple 5 digits of AS1M on 1/9/16. All based on luck and timing.

Hahaha, after the ASG (6 figure), have stopped buying any ASNB units. Now will try to buy the FP units. Except hate going to bank to try and try.

Placing FD is more straight forward. FP units, susah lah !!

Have talked to Affin, they suggest buy <50k units in any one day. But then I ask if cannot get ? Then the 50k or remainder stay in SA ?  dry.gif

Admire some of the taikoh here have kangtao to get the units.  rclxms.gif
*
If you can ask them to try any of the 3 books in one day, it's actually quite easy. I transferred my retirement funds inside within 2 mths of daily trip and multiple visits. I set a target for each account. If you have good relationship with banker, they'll be trying their best to help you. Finally I got all my ASW2020 last 1/9/16 and now can sit back to relax.
Just look at the different in FP vs FD returns. At the moment extra 50% with FP. If you 6- 7 figures, the different is huge.

Majority inside FP & dividend stocks now. Still have some FDs at Affin 4.3% & HLB 4.25%.
Can survive with dividends from stocks without touching FP dividends.

I'd advise you to stick to ASX FP. Lower risk and headache.

I'm yet to qualify to claim my tiny EPF & CPF, part of my retirement funds. biggrin.gif

$$ reserved for 2017 EPF are in ASM now as it was too easy to get ASM during my time.
hmm.gif With EPF not doing well, maybe I'll just let it hibernate in ASM.

Are you saying you have reserved $ (from ASM) for self-contribution of EPF in 2017?
*
Recently learnt from Ramjade that I can self contribute to EPF.

$$ was all stuck in FD initially while waiting for 2017. After calculating dividend vs interest, and also with luck + timing, with my FD due recently together + low FD offer, I managed to 'park' $$ reserved for EPF into ASM easily.
hmm.gif Now, looking at EPF performances, I'll think twice next year on ex dividend date.
It'd be a headache when I reach 'legal' age to withdraw from EPF in future as I still have to find 'parking' place later.
My ASM is over my personal target limit.

I do the same by parking part of my saving into EPF.

The official legal age is 75 years old, and the unofficial one is 100 years old.

After 55, you can make a stand instruction for auto monthly withdraw, other than withdrawing the full. And, you can alter or cancel or re-do, the stand instruction with any amount and without any charges. And also, you still can make self-contribution until 75.

I'm making the saving in ASNx and EPF about the same weight.
*
EPF made BAD investment lately. Each time I looked at company announcement, EPF always buy high and dispose at low value. Make me wonder if I want to continue self contributing.

QUOTE(tonytyk @ Sep 16 2016, 10:01 AM)
Why only auntie targeting ASM not ASW or AS1M?
*
No I don't focus on ASM. I started with 3 books and will ask for whatever available. Managed to hit my AS1M 1st & 2nd target <2weeks as it was easiest to top up. To follow with ASM, managed to hit 1st & 2nd & 3rd target within <1month. I've also asked for ASW and top up as much as I could but it was harder but not impossible in May & June. Finally hit my ASW 3rd target on 1/9/16.
No more top up as I'm reserving some for stock market to drop further.

QUOTE(guy3288 @ Sep 16 2016, 12:53 PM)
can see how happy you finally come here.
actually i was wondering why you didnt come earlier.
the difference is really huge, for every Million you can lose some RM20k a year
true, actually can open if you insists
yeah UT is no joke can lose money, same goes for stocks, i never really make money there.
this one attracts my interest. can share what stocks you have?
i have some 200k stocks- 'poor' dividends(compared to purchase cost) <4%
You manage to get 8%pa dividend over your cost of purchase?
*
I don't set high target, as long as the return is better than FD.

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Sep 16 2016, 01:03 PM)

Will consider for ASM next year only, depending on EPF next dividend rate.

How is it possible? Consistently 50k/day? Got units?
*
All timing and luck. Auntie twinkle regularly shared every successful top up here. 4-6 trips, 3 banks in 1 day as I had to move the few 'bricks' from stagnant FD. Easier with 3 passbooks as somehow, always managed to get 1 or 2 of them in one day. Once I set my mind to do something, I'll do my best to accomplish it.

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Sep 16 2016, 03:01 PM)
For her everyday got units. Contra straight from account,  no questions ask. If use cash, then they ask you question. More or less everyday 5 figure right twinkle5129? Also 6 figure completed in 1 or 2 months?

If you camp everyday at the bank/leave your book there, it's possible to get rm50k/day. Previous proof by mr guy shows us that.
*
With multiple trips to many banks, everyday was a successful day, range from 3 to 5 digits.
I managed to hit 1st and 2nd target for ASM, AS1M & ASW within 10 days to 21 days in May itself- all 6 digits. It'd be impossible to just wait for end of the month or 1st of the month. You can try multiple 5 digits > 50k / day but with luck and timing. Yes, majority bank staff and PNB do question on my $$ and they get to hear my working life. I don't see anything to worry as $$ was repatriated back from my previous workplace to my local bank in proper manner.

Have you uplifted your FD to switch to FP? I uplifted some on 1/9/16 as it was done in same bank. Once they hit my target, I uplifted one of my 1 mth old (1yr- 4.3% FD).
It's still ok as average after cutting 'lost' is still >5% minimum vs FD. Last May & June, I did the same to some of my 2 weeks old FD as it seems easier to lock in units.

Nope. Those FDs $$ are meant for FDs placement. At that time, Affin, KK (fortunately) offered the highest rate in my area and also gave free umbrellas. I started ASNB top up with no account and later opened saving account.
I placed the rest in FDs once all my top up target near completion. After 1/9/16 last top up, no more need to redeem any FD. Luckily I separated my Fds into few certs.

I got it at Rhb bank, the counter staff over there is very helpful (thanks to her) compared to Maybank...

This morning I went to Post office, they teach me how to open but eventually they told me it's full.. but it's okay because they're quite polite and nice, maybe really no quota or the system is too slow as he mentioned. However I tried my luck again at RHB and finally got RM400.

Yes I was trying to open ASM, and AS1M but they told me it's already full. Tomorrow will try again.

RM1.06 per TRYING only... I think it's not worth... better I keep going banks when I plan to pass by during lunch or breakfast.
*
Now that you have an account with ASNB, it'll be easier for them to process ASM & AS1M (if units available tomorrow). Just go back to this RHB branch during off peak hours and just ask them to try 100unit only (to open account). It's easier to hit with 100u. If lucky, you may get to open both tomorrow.
As Ramjade suggestion, if there is a nearby Affin bank, try and visit them as they're quieter there. Be humble and polite when you approach any of the staff. Even if no units to open or top up, if it's convenient, just let them know that you'd like to come back later or stay around (camping) and retry after 15- 30mins.

QUOTE(heavensea @ Sep 20 2016, 01:48 PM)

haha aunty twinkle, what is BSA account ya? (I guess it stands for basic saving account)?

once I can top up, then I tell them help me to minus from BSA? Need to bring BSA bank book/card or not?
*
Majority of 'investors' I've met during my 'hunting' days ended up opening 'basic saving account at Affin Bank as the staff are extremely helpful. Many tried 'octopus bank' nearby but was 'shoo' away to Affin Bank too. At the end Affin Bank benefited with extra new accounts and deposits. I only asked for ATM card and no bank passbook as I dislike carrying it. I just produced my IC for any transaction. If you've a passbook, you may need to produce it (I think). I've carried 5-6 digits visiting 2-3 banks, 4-6x/ day as no one will look at old auntie swinging umbrella walking pass by. Probably they'll try to avoid me as much as possible in case I accidentally hit them.
Be extra careful when you carry cash around esp if you walk out from 1 bank to another. Easier to deposit small amount each time unless you're as lucky as me and some of the member here.
I'm sure if you visit banks more frequent, your chances will be higher.
Good luck. I'm sure you can move your funds bit by bit once you've your passbooks with frequent visits.

Keep trying as others are able to get them. If possible, try before lunch and before closing time. If cannot, get family member to top up for you. Better, if she/he can camp from 1200-1300 and try checking every 30mins if the bank staff is friendly, of course.

I think I will use Affin by depositing dough in the SA there. That is better instead of carrying big amt of cash around.

Affin's advantage is 50k per day of online transfer. So in case I want to xfer out the dough, easier as well.  biggrin.gif
*
Since you're already a customer/ known to the bank staff, they might be more helpful too. As Ramjade said, as long as your $$ r in CASA, you can ask if they can try to check for you and you'll come back to sign all the transactions later.
I never leave my passbook for them as it's convenient for me to drop by bank few times/ day or camping there. If you visit them, they will have to attend to you on the spot. If you leave the passbook with them, they have to attend to other customers/ other errands and might miss out on the crucial timing. When I sat there reading newspaper, usually they will keep on trying until my target is fulfilled. By the way, I learnt this method at nearly the end of my topping days from another grandma topping up for her working daughter.
