Apparently, according to the branch teller, there was another guy who managed to top up 45k earlier...but his target was 50k.

So means that, in between my 2 top up today, the fund actually dried up 🤔

So for those wanting to top up, I guess these coming days should be fine as not everyone will withdraw today

Looks like registering for new account is trickier than topping up.

To paraphrase what Maybank and CIMB staff told me, registration takes some time and it's possible that all units are taken by the time you're done registering, leaving you with an account with zero deposit. In that case the account will be stuck in "pending" and rendered invalid (or something along that line). Whereas if you're registering at ASNB, they can reserve the units during registration to prevent the previous scenario from happening.

As expected, I had no luck in Maybank. Surprisingly CIMB staff phoned the local ASNB branch and found out that somehow new account with zero deposit is fine . So I proceeded with trying to open a new account there. In any case, I didn't find out whether zero-deposit was okay or not because I managed to purchase a small amount of ASW units  . Kudos to CIMB for nice service.

Also, the CIMB staff was told by ASNB that there were available units in the morning. So I'm even more confused as to why an ASNB staff told me no units available when I went there in the morning

Maybe I'll return to CIMB tomorrow and try opening zero-deposit ASM and/or AS1M account (I'll try to deposit but I don't think chances are not that good).

If top up tomorrow, u will give free monies (29 days) to ASNB as they dun pay u any Dividend in Sep 

If you have RM500k in any of the 3 ASX FP, that's ~RM30k/p.a (using 6% as calculation) which can be used as source of income (applying loan, cc)
If you have RM500k in all 3 ASX FP, you get RM90k/p.a. Can retire liao

Took one day leave and purposely sit in ASNB from 11am to buy ASW, but the counter lady (name started with Maxxxxx) in ASNB Kuching Sarawak is really a pain in the axx...Scream at the customer (especially chinese). Maybe because of the huge crowds. When my turn came, only 24 units available, that is around 1:40pm. Ask her to retry but no respond from her and she immediately called another number. End up have to take another number (30 plus queue) and wait until around 4:00pm to top up 5 digits. While waiting for the 30 plus queue number, i met someone i know from Unit Bergerak, but he can only help me top up RM 200/once (ID limit for Unit Bergerak Staff). Thank god for not wasting my one day leave and a big thanks to the Sifus in this forum too for all the guidance!

Writing now. A few old white hair uncle got screamed and they all ran away. The "boss" sit behind just smile and laugh. I guess that's why they behave like that. It took more than 10 mins for  them to entertain one customer and most of the time once they entertain one, they will talk to each other for a 2 mins then called the other one. I enter the premise at 11am and there are 25 numbers queue in front of me. I only manage to reach my turn at 1:40pm. 2 hours and 40 mins for 25 persons. Omg...

Thanks. I learned about that only in my 2nd queue after i read the update in this forum. Hahaha. I went and took three numbers and luckily manage to grab it on the 2nd attempt. End up i gave the other 2 numbers to a pregnant lady and a lady with kids. Happy day. Lolz.

Landed some ASW units in CIMB at 1 pm. Took staff about 15 mins or so to check though, and she told me usually it's faster. What's the normal speed like?
So you get a new number like every few minutes or so? The staff that's giving out numbers won't give you weird look meh? I feel a bit paiseh to do that.
Wow so bad. At least the ASNB staff I encountered last time didn't yell at people although he doesn't come across as helpful. I was too noob to even ask him to retry or to grab a new number (but now I know better la). I saw another lady at a different counter was friendlier but unfortunately didn't get her.

Same experience with me,  the teller will ask me to fill up the form if he/she remember,  most of the time they forget.

As for >50k transaction, it already there longtime, but not enforced strictly only.. Most time close eye Guess now asnb is really follow rules.. Its bnm rule btw

Nowadays, all agents /bankers are quite strict with the requirement of
unit holder  IC , Surat wakil  & Declaration form – for all sort of transactions.
& they are governed by “ Banking and Financial Institutions Act (Bafia) “
+ “ Standard operating Procedure “ SOP  - not forgetting with 360 ° CCTV on them , bla bla ..

I think RM50k is with cash need to isi borang. RM50k from CASA don't need borang. Maybe staff confused?
No. It can only happen if
(i) you don't have the money. They can wait until closing time while they hold your book
(ii) they key in 2x and you don't have the money.

Experience (i) before. Luckily I got the cash or else kena reverse.

Did they reward you any gifts . thermos, power bank or bag ?

Got a reply from ASNB about this issue. I address this issue together with the other experience i had. I am glad they admit they need to do more to train their staff and hopefully the branch wouldn't go and find out who i am because I still want to top up someday. Lolzzz...
