Yes, this morning system down. Only after lunch got some

Today system very temperamental. My banker ID was 'locked' out too. Luckily the issue was quickly resolved by him & branch manager.

QUOTE(OPT @ Sep 1 2016, 03:09 PM)
Apparently, according to the branch teller, there was another guy who managed to top up 45k earlier...but his target was 50k.

So means that, in between my 2 top up today, the fund actually dried up 🤔

So for those wanting to top up, I guess these coming days should be fine as not everyone will withdraw today

Wah, today I sibeh happy leh

rclxms.gif rclxms.gif I can see you the HAPPIEST investor here!! Any more top up today?

Will all the transactions today entitle to the Sept month dividend or just base on your 1st transaction amount? Not familiar on this one.

For month of September, if the lowest amount is calculated, it has to be the balance carried forward+ additional dividend, right?

QUOTE(milo.dinosaur @ Sep 1 2016, 07:30 PM)
Looks like registering for new account is trickier than topping up.

To paraphrase what Maybank and CIMB staff told me, registration takes some time and it's possible that all units are taken by the time you're done registering, leaving you with an account with zero deposit. In that case the account will be stuck in "pending" and rendered invalid (or something along that line). Whereas if you're registering at ASNB, they can reserve the units during registration to prevent the previous scenario from happening.

As expected, I had no luck in Maybank. Surprisingly CIMB staff phoned the local ASNB branch and found out that somehow new account with zero deposit is fine confused.gif. So I proceeded with trying to open a new account there. In any case, I didn't find out whether zero-deposit was okay or not because I managed to purchase a small amount of ASW units  rclxms.gif . Kudos to CIMB for nice service.

Also, the CIMB staff was told by ASNB that there were available units in the morning. So I'm even more confused as to why an ASNB staff told me no units available when I went there in the morning hmm.gif

Maybe I'll return to CIMB tomorrow and try opening zero-deposit ASM and/or AS1M account (I'll try to deposit but I don't think chances are not that good).
*
Congrats. Try to capture as much ASW as available tomorrow. This month is the easiest to top up.

If top up tomorrow, u will give free monies (29 days) to ASNB as they dun pay u any Dividend in Sep  tongue.gif

No guarantee you can capture those units by end of the mth or by 1st of the month. It's easy for you but not to others without connection. My BEST decision was to hunt at every trip. Unless you're investing somewhere else with possibility of getting positive returns by end of the month.

If you have RM500k in any of the 3 ASX FP, that's ~RM30k/p.a (using 6% as calculation) which can be used as source of income (applying loan, cc)
If you have RM500k in all 3 ASX FP, you get RM90k/p.a. Can retire liao

Did you managed to top up today?

Took one day leave and purposely sit in ASNB from 11am to buy ASW, but the counter lady (name started with Maxxxxx) in ASNB Kuching Sarawak is really a pain in the axx...Scream at the customer (especially chinese). Maybe because of the huge crowds. When my turn came, only 24 units available, that is around 1:40pm. Ask her to retry but no respond from her and she immediately called another number. End up have to take another number (30 plus queue) and wait until around 4:00pm to top up 5 digits. While waiting for the 30 plus queue number, i met someone i know from Unit Bergerak, but he can only help me top up RM 200/once (ID limit for Unit Bergerak Staff). Thank god for not wasting my one day leave and a big thanks to the Sifus in this forum too for all the guidance!

thumbup.gif Must be really patience when one really needs to top up. Congrats and good that you withstand the stressful day there. Next time, just keep collecting few numbers in between too. that was what I did last time.

Writing now. A few old white hair uncle got screamed and they all ran away. The "boss" sit behind just smile and laugh. I guess that's why they behave like that. It took more than 10 mins for  them to entertain one customer and most of the time once they entertain one, they will talk to each other for a 2 mins then called the other one. I enter the premise at 11am and there are 25 numbers queue in front of me. I only manage to reach my turn at 1:40pm. 2 hours and 40 mins for 25 persons. Omg...

Luckily I've had good experience at ASNB, Shah Alam. Majority everyone there is friendly and approachable.

QUOTE(PETERT2016 @ Sep 2 2016, 10:50 AM)
Thanks. I learned about that only in my 2nd queue after i read the update in this forum. Hahaha. I went and took three numbers and luckily manage to grab it on the 2nd attempt. End up i gave the other 2 numbers to a pregnant lady and a lady with kids. Happy day. Lolz.
*
nod.gif nod.gif Some of us traded numbers (for those who can't wait) and chit chat with strangers there while waiting. Most of the time, I'm the only Chinese waiting among them but everyone treated me nicely. As I said it was a very pleasant experience despite the long waiting time. I also always gave the rest of Q numbers to those fortunate to sit nearby. Now, no more need to Q.

Landed some ASW units in CIMB at 1 pm. Took staff about 15 mins or so to check though, and she told me usually it's faster. What's the normal speed like?
So you get a new number like every few minutes or so? The staff that's giving out numbers won't give you weird look meh? I feel a bit paiseh to do that.
Wow so bad. At least the ASNB staff I encountered last time didn't yell at people although he doesn't come across as helpful. I was too noob to even ask him to retry or to grab a new number (but now I know better la). I saw another lady at a different counter was friendlier but unfortunately didn't get her.
*
It's self service number machine. You just press anytime you want. No one will stop you at ASNB, Shah Alam.

No need to feel embarrass la. If unsuccessful, I told staff I'll retry again with new numbers later. Usually between 15-30mins. Must keep trying again and again. Now I can retire in comfort. biggrin.gif

Forgot to share what happened at at Affin Bank yesterday.

Affin Bank is considered 'NEW' to ASNB transcation and now still on restricted license.

I went to update passbook and check for top up. Staff said the ASW is still on 'hold' until 2/9/16. Luckily I've learnt so much from this forum
( notworthy.gif Thanks for all who shared knowledge here) and was able to to tell the staff that ASW transaction resumed by 1/9/16.

I was able to update one of my family passbook and top up without 'WAKIL' form as according to staff, I'm considered a 'familiar' face by now.
Previously, my niece has to sign a WAKIL form for me to assist her top up and update.

For update, the staff didn't ask for my IC/ Wakil form for others. I only need to produce IC for my own top up transaction.

A strange thing also happened on 1/9.
As I did 2 transaction and total >50k, $$ out from CASA, the staff asked me to fill up declaration form.
I was a bit puzzle but anyway, filled it up as required. He said, if per day total transaction >50k, it's recently required by ASNB. Previously, I've done multiple transactions with total > 50k from CASA with no issues.

It was an 'unplanned' top up but decided to try 2nd time as 1st transaction was successful and I was the only customer in the bank. Need to uplift 1 of my Fd certs for 2nd top up. After calculation, lost 1 mth FD interest but will get the extra % benefit from ASW future dividend.

I tried to read the form but at the end, just tick here and there and signed. Staff said form will be kept for the bank's record.

According to my teller / friend ,
Nowadays, all agents /bankers are quite strict with the requirement of
unit holder  IC , Surat wakil  & Declaration form – for all sort of transactions.
& they are governed by “ Banking and Financial Institutions Act (Bafia) “
+ “ Standard operating Procedure “ SOP  - not forgetting with 360 ° CCTV on them , bla bla ..

Ai ya , – ,  too many law & order– ikut saja

I think RM50k is with cash need to isi borang. RM50k from CASA don't need borang. Maybe staff confused? hmm.gif
No. It can only happen if
(i) you don't have the money. They can wait until closing time while they hold your book
(ii) they key in 2x and you don't have the money.

Experience (i) before. Luckily I got the cash or else kena reverse.
*
Staff said it started RECENTLY only, even from CASA. Now I don't carry any more CASH around.
Anyway, no more additional top up for myself.

Just curious,
Have you ever top up > 50K at any ASNB branch ?
Did they reward you any gifts . thermos, power bank or bag ?

ASNB, max only 50k cash.
So far, my top up at ASNB happened b'cos of opening accounts at the same time and I don't carry much cash there.
For me, it was easier to top up at the banks.

thumbsup.gif At least ASNB replied & acknowledged your comment.

CIMB buried my 'case' with the branch manager after the issues with my ASNB transaction as I didn't receive any statement from them.
