I dun think ASNB have the expertise yet to explore overseas
*
Actually they have. If you remember the poster I posted, they invested in Indonesia, and if I am not mistaken Thailand.

QUOTE(hurtedheart @ Aug 12 2016, 01:52 PM)
Usually when we top up ASX, is it the teller does it on the spot? I encountered most of the time where I request to top up, my ic & passbook was withheld with them for more than 10 minutes, while the teller still attend to other customers. Then after 10-20 minutes of wait, only they said 'no units'. Is this the norm? Couldn't they check on the spot & tell whether is it available or not?
*
Depend on staff. Sometimes the staff will entertain me on the spot. Sometimes like you said take my book without my IC and ask me to wait. But most of the time, either way I will get the units.

Provided buyers have CASA with other Banks if d top up sum is big
*
CASA problem is easily remedied.

Eg.
QUOTE
Bank A refuse/didn't entertain you properly
Hop over to bank B. One can topup how much at bank B. Just open account at Bank B, transfer all the money one wants to put into ASX FP to bank B from bank A
After that just go visit B. No more going bank A.

Execution is tough as buyers have sentimental value with their choice bank
*
Not true. So many of us does not have sentiment value towards bank. Me, nexona, auntie twinkle, and many others.

And convenience too. Like my case, Maybank has many branches & I can easily hoped into it whenever I pass by. Also I can uplift my eGIA for payment of the subscription Rather than keep in CASA which earns lower interest
*
As far as I know, one cannot withdraw eGIA from the counter. It needs to be done online. Happened to me before. Was going to withwdraw RM5k from eGIA to pay for ASW2020, they told me cannot.

You will have to do the following first:
eGIA > SA > pay for ASX FP.

In tis respect, how u xpect Bank to treat u well since u dun have loyalty
*
One doesn't need to be loyal to banks. Never been and will never have. I just wished the staff terima kasih and sorry for your time, smile and leave the counter. I never depend on banks to topup. Me and few other regulars (at maybank/affin bukit tinggi) never leave our book there. We just camp at banks. There are 2 more regular auntie like me who take no and wait our turn. If tak dapat, take no and wait.

What is penny stocks?

What is ur opinion if opr change will affect dividend of asx?

I wish opr stay at 2.50, then my loan interest will be lower...hehe
*
I reckon it won't affect as ASX invest in stock. Unless economy continue to become bad.. I highly doubt bank will reduce muxh interest for loan. Remember banks are quick to decrease FD rates but slow to decrease loan rates /decrease little only.

Penny stocks = prices trading < 0.10
Opr change will affect the dividend. Having said tat, it depends on d % of allocation to FIF n MMF besides equity
*
I believed when OPR was at all time high in 1998, it didn't really give very hight dividend back then. Anyone got data to show the dividend in 1998?

How do we know how much will we get in dividends for our ASW account?
*
Depends on how much you have and when you topup (topup after 1st of the month won't give you interest for that month)
Go update your book on 1/9

Btw for those want to reach target fast without trying multuple time, affin bank bukit tinggi is the place to try.

They have all action there?
*
Say target is rm20k, they try for you one shot rm20k (I tak de rm20k to try one shot sad.gif ). Then if don't have, just sit there read some stuff (bring a book) while the staff try some more. No need to take no some more.
Managed to hit my target (the amount of cash I have not my personal target laugh.gif) each time I go affin bank. With maybank I have to try morning afternoon evening.

The con is bring cash unless you have account with them.

You withdrawal all after get dividends?
*
I never withdraw anything. The only thing I withdraw are my FDs and my ASG. laugh.gif laugh.gif What goes into those 3 ASX will be lock up nice and tight. Now that I found affin, it doesn't matter for me if ASNB pays in cash/cheque in the future cause my target will be reach (if the person didn't change laugh.gif )

If you meant the dividend, it will be printed into the books assuming that ASNB want to give out in terms of dividends. So just bring book and update it on 1/9 for ASW2020. Bring cash too if want to topup.

For those that always top-up, do you finish your passbook very fast and keep taking new passbook?
*
If you go for the strategy of say topup 20xRM250 versus one shot RM5k, expect to change book frequently. From what I learnt, with the not right person behind the counter, one will need to go the multiple of small amount way. With the right person, one shot hentam big amount boleh masuk. Just hang/sit around while the worker hentam the amount you wanted for you.
