Yeah, I see wat u mean, seen from that angle its quite a chunk. I am reminded that the 79230 is tad thicker than its 79220 smiley text predecessor, owing to the fact that the former's inhouse caliber is thicker than the latter's ETA one. One of the reasons that makes the 79220 still appealing somewhat. That's a good comparison la the side view, really puts the dimensions into perspective πŸ‘πŸΏ Do u usually wear ur bracelet on the looser side?

You wouldn't be able to tell, since I actually swapped the strap out... but that's actually a SARY087. Literally the same thing, just different strap and smaller in numbers.
*
Out of curiosity, why did u opt for the 87 instead of the 85?

Has been a while since I've taken my Nomos Metro out for a breather, and since I was in office earlier this week, thought to myself, why not.

Nice piece bro πŸ‘. Did u pick this up.locally or abroad? Been considering a Ludwig for a while, cant make up my mind whether to go with the earlier automatic or the newer neomatik.

Abroad. Ludwig is a nice choice, and I had it on my wrist while testing a couple, originally intending to go for one.
The thing though about the Ludwig is the lugs have less of a curvature and protrudes outwards further, so if you have wrists like mine it may not look too good.

You're getting a very nice movement (DUW3001) with the Neomatik. smile.gif I would go for it.

Swing system ftw 🀣 I thought its interesting also that the rotor locks into place once fully wound. Definitely gonna look for a clear case back version with the Nomos.

shankar_dass93 seems my reply got deleted along with your post sweat.gif I was thinking a Wolf Windsor 10 with drawers to store straps n stuff, but maybe you might prefer something bespoke along the lines of Anthony Holt & Sons or Rapport of London.

Went up by 3k i think? but they also raised the current speedy so the diff is just 1k or so.

bear in mind this is a new movement.
*
So this one will be on the anti magnetic silicon hairspring train n catching up with all their other movements la eh? Hmmm I wonder what the actual price is gonna be like at retail. RRP for the hesalite is now 25.8k....I remember being quoted 16.8k for the previous iteration, mid of last year. How much discount room do we have to wiggle with, the same 20%?

Just googled up both brands that you mentioned and they look pretty good!

Do you own any one of them ?
*
Not yet, my SO had recently gifted me a 10pc box so I would need to come up with a polite excuse to replace it sweat.gif. Suggestions very much welcome!

I do have an eye on the rapport optic eight - the wood grain appears to be ash, similar to one of my guitars, of which I'm quite fond of.

Would be nice if it worked like that 🀣

Or maybe just get another box and populate this one with Casio and Timex...hmmmm

Take a look at Nomos
*
Agreed, Nomos is an excellent choice for that RM6-7k range budget. One can acquire a new Nomos Ludwig manual wind 38mm within that range, and still have some money left over for shipping and import duty if need be. I actually think there was guy selling a preowned manual wound Nomos Ludwig on MWF some time ago. I would have suggested a Sinn, but owing to the Maurice lacroix reference, the Ludwig would be a better choice.

I've thought long about this one. Really like the thinness (I'm looking for a <10mm 3-hander), but probably feels a touch too futuristic for my tastes.

Also not cheap anymore these days!
Plus servicing was one of my concerns with these indie brands.
*
True la, not that cheap di la at RM20k+. Man, half a mil swiss francs in 10 mins....i want a business like that la sweat.gif

I reckon the servicing should be able to send to any reputable service center perhaps? Being just a modified manual wind.

Eh, actually kan, if u r in the market for a sub 10mm 3 hander, can check out the Nomos Neomatik range, they all tend to be less than 10mm.

Maybe we should contact the guy himself since he is Malaysian. Maybe he could help us secure a group buy for his next watch.

That's an interesting idea actually, sounds doable if we could raise enough interest. Anybody here actually knows them ka?

I don’t know them but am hoping someone on the forums here would know them. I am also interested in getting a Ming piece but have no luck in buying one as they were sold out in minutes.
*
Ya man, the last round all 125 pieces sold out in just about 10mins or so. I'd be interested in looking at a possible group purchase with them as well.
