About a decade ago, I started to get interested with watches. There wasn't much I could afford then, and my goal was for a Seiko Marinemaster 300 (SBDX001 aka MM300). It was more than I could afford at the time, so for my birthday, my then girlfriend gifted me with a Sumo (SBDC001) instead. Ultimately, that was what kickstarted me to work harder to achieve my goals. I wanted a Panerai, I wanted Pelagos, I wanted Submariner. Slowly, I ticked them off my list (although some seems as though will forever remain unobtanium ) Fast forward to yesterday and I have finally mustered up the courage to pull the trigger on this. Debuted at Baselworld 2018, produced as a LE of 1,968 pieces and despite it being 2 years old, was in super mint condition. This is my most expensive Seiko, ever! But man, honestly... feels so good on the wrist. This time, I'm going to keep my promise to myself; that if I add one in the box, then one has to go. I like them all, but hmm...

The Casio World Time? I can't remember; bought it a couple of years ago, no more than RM100. Am thinking about letting it go to free up one slot in the box (box is full, so if one in, one must go out), but it really isn't worth that much and feels like too much effort to sell.

Someone looking for slightly more discount from Omega? PM me, only if you are firm to purchase; maybe I can help. Please -- do not waste my time with price checks, need to consider, time to think about it, etc. Only PM me if you have already decided and you are trying to get the best price, and I may try to help. Anyway, coming to a week on the wrist now:

I did not check out SNR045 -- too much for me; I don't like the texture on the dial and the power reserve indicator. Also, can't afford the price :-) I generally prefer my watches simple, just time and (optional) date will do.

QUOTE(foofoosasa @ Sep 17 2020, 02:25 PM) Is the resell value good for the model? You are buying a watch with the wrong mindset. Probably better if you didn't buy one to resell later.

Omega? Probably Seamaster Diver 300 on rubber or the standard Speedmaster Pro. There are also a variety of Tudors you can look at.
Used, you could probably consider a 39mm Explorer 1 or 5 digit Explorer 2.

5 digit E2? I think you can find used pieces for about 25k. Perhaps watch only. Regardless, less important if it is meant to be a daily wearer and not a daily box display.

ETA on the new Snoopy as early as next month. Wouldn't be surprised if we get it soon. MY received the Alinghi very quickly as well.

QUOTE(funfunfun @ Oct 8 2020, 12:52 PM) Do you think can get a chance if I go via AD rather than OB? Trying to build up spending relationship with AD hehe... But if cannot then I will go to OB as I really want it lol... the 'animated' caseback sold me. Never seen anything like it. No idea. I have the impression this will be boutique only, but I could be wrong. If your AD tells you they are getting it, then you should go and try to "build relationship" with AD. Personally, I feel confident about getting an allocation for one, but since this is not really my cup of tea, I will be passing. I am not keen to "help" and risk my name and reputation if someone were to change their mind, and/or who ends up flipping it for profit. I think its great for the enthusiast, but I do not wish to help someone who's out to make a quick buck.

Well, for now, quite certain no discounts offered for new Snoopy. So in the short term, it makes a lot more sense to try and buy from OB rather than AD. After all, an AD "forgets" you if you do not have regular purchases. With OB, you're already in the system.

OB are just OB -- several locations that I know of in Klang Valley; Pavilion, KLCC, The Gardens. Most of the others fall under the AD umbrella, although Omega has been slowly reducing the number of ADs over the last 3-5 years.
Basically, any store that is a multi-brand is an AD (I do not know of any standalone Omega ADs).

Not a new model; the Pilot Chrono has been around for quite some time.

Loved the attention to detail; moon candle and delivery specifically on a Tuesday. Very good stuff from Omega, certainly.

QUOTE(pleasuresaurus @ Nov 15 2020, 12:57 AM) You wouldn't be able to tell, since I actually swapped the strap out... but that's actually a SARY087. Literally the same thing, just different strap and smaller in numbers.

At some point, I actually had both. In fact, I had two SARY085, but decided to let them both go and to keep the SARY087 as it had a bit more "depth" to the dial. Unfortunately, it all ultimately boiled down to how I never wear them... even the 087. In some ways, you could say they have both been replaced by the two Alpinists.

QUOTE(JPSB @ Nov 16 2020, 10:17 AM) Nice blue Alpinist. What is your view on the latest baby Alpinist - w/out compass & 2nd crown? I've yet to see them in the flesh, but I will say that I prefer it without the compass (as this cannot be "locked" in place on the Alpinist), but I also believe at 38mm will be a little small for my wrist. I'm a big size fella, so that 1mm difference does make some difference. That said, I've never had a problem with the 'X' on dial and the lack of magnification on the date window is actually a very positive thing. And my goodness, the new dial colours are amazing. Seiko are really masterful with creating depth on their dials. I know I shouldn't explore (although I was very close to pulling the trigger), and now that I have the SPB199J1 in hand, won't have to.
