no need to worry about the 3gb limitation(it is not being implemented).stability and connectivity is also good.the only thing that sux about maxis wired broadband is the customer service. try calling up and see.they don't even know what to do about package upgrades.
i went to the cs centre in ttdi to ask about upgrading my speed from 512mbs to 1mbs and the supervisor says i have to pay a penalty of rm83 per remaining months in contract on top of the higher monthly charges.i have to pay more just so i can pay more? is streamyx doing this aswell? the signup ppl told me when i first registered that if i wasn't satisfied with the speed then i could just call the hotline for a package upgrade without any issues.my advice is if u wanna signup make sure ur signing up for the right package.maxis has no time to limit your bandwith(they don't even have time to sync information between departments).if anyone has any information on package upgrades pls share here.thanks and mods, sorry if
i'm posting in the wrong thread.

it depends..
when the maxis broadband was launched....
many ppl register for it..
its fxxx!
i almost wait for a month to get the service! vmad.gif
but after that i dunno la
because that time they prepare not enought modem for installation! doh.gif (what kind of service?)
now i think is ok... smile.gif
and yet..i found tat their technical support team is good
last time ,there was a problem with my maxis broadband..
so i was very unhappy so that i called to maxis broadband CS immediately and complain to them!
then u noe what happen?
im suprise that after 1 day i complain to them
they straight away send a technician to my house and help me to settle my lines problem! brows.gif smile.gif thumbup.gif
im very satisfied with their working efficiency!

maybe u are just plain unlucky to get a trainee helpdesk operator sweat.gif

complains usually take at most 1 day for them.usually after a couple hours, they'll come to your house inspecting what kind of problems you had.

they even gave tips for my mom too for not putting the speakers too near the monitor, otherwise inteference will occur. laugh.gif

Yesterday I recevied direct mailer from Maxis Broadband asking me to sign up their service (HSDPA i.e 3.5G)...Offer is that all charges like installation, activation, deposit, bla bla bla are waive...Best part they waive the 18mth contract if I sign up during promo period. I only pay for subscription & modem rental fee only... Am still thinking of it..

I'm gonna try Maxis Wired since Maxis Wireless is only good for 3rd floor and lower. I just moved to an apartment in Pusat Bandar Puchong/Bandar Puteri(a bit in between) and its at the 4th floor.
Anybody staying near and using Maxis Wired?

Sometimes I wonder about the LYn effect... I mean you know about the slashdot effect.. something gets written about in /. and suddenly the site dies from overload smile.gif could it be that if something is praised on LYN, the sudden surge of new customers overwhelm their systems ? smile.gif
