ya lo.. true.. even direct download also constant speed with any ip..
now using streamyx.. my torrent speed sux.. doh.gif
btw, why terminate maxis wireless?
*
cos it sucks, nuff said. i guess they traced my acc to be a heavy downloader, so my average speed is only 7kBps sweat.gif no use complain, their L1 support dunno anything. technical team on the other hand, will surely cover it up and blamed my coverage for it.

and oso, i got another 2 broadband what. no use having so many broadband at the same time. i just need the celcom when travelling as celcom's 3G coverage is wider than maxis. smile.gif

u mean streamyx or maxis wireless?
*
three broadband:
1. maxis wired
2. maxis wireless
3. celcom bb D98

so i want to terminate my maxis wireless, then left only 2 for me; wired and D98. smile.gif

never had a streamyx acc tongue.gif

What package you take? Very high speed. But you need to test it in DL mode than you know the constant speed. I love maxis wired. 2yrs DL in constant 100Kbps speed. Maxis really give 100% speed. Worth the money every bit. Not like tmnut, best f**king effort.
*
im using my old laptop right now to do some cleaning + updating.

here's the screenshot:

user posted image

now the speed hovers around 200~220kBps.

i'm taking 1Mbps package, which should be around 100kBps download.

I take 512kb package. Constant speed 100kBps. thumbup.gif

this is why i like maxis wired. hahaha. even last time during 100kBps constant oso i like it. why? BECAUSE WHEN SCREAMYX USERS SCREAMS DURING THE UNDERSEA CABLE DOWN LAST TIME, MAXIS WIRED USERS CAN EASILY ACCESS THE INTERNET..MUAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!

hi there....

i am a screamyx user who wish to jump ship and curently searching for others boradband tat suits me....after go through this forum found out tat maxis wired broadband is quite good for me......i mainly also a heavy torrent and also online gaming......

but there is 1 question tat bugging me....

tis is maxis WIRED broadband right?? so do tat mean i cannot access to wireless even though i have a wireless router for my laptop??

icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif
*
u can always use your wireless router to replace Maxis's ADSL modem. just remember to enquire the Internet Connection username and password from the person that installs the modem at your home. modem user and pass is always admin admin. smile.gif
btw, does maxis wired covers your area? iianm, u can't use TM phone line to use maxis wired. your house phone line must be under maxis to use maxis wired smile.gif

well, maxis wired works just like streamyx though, as it's a wired broadband, but the thrill of enjoying it..no other screamyx users can experience it tongue.gif

then how about my house phone if apply under maxis?? hmm.gif
*
im not so sure about that. as for my area, Bandar Country Homes, got 2 diff phone line, maxis and TM. ppl who are under maxis apply their wired broadband, while ppl under TM applied streamyx. usually those using screamyx are in the front part of Country Homes.

It is easy to know your area got maxis or tm. If your phoneline is tm, than no maxis line and vise versa. Cause they can't provide both line together for a same place. This is not wireless.
*
that is correct.

anyway maxis wired is not about high speed, it's about constant speed and low latency brows.gif

Maxis doing charity is it?  tongue.gif  They have too many empty bandwidth around don't no what to use. tongue.gif So decide give you guys buy one free one broadband.  thumbup.gif

well, now i'm enjoying my anime downloads more than before. oh, and linux ISOs too. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(vista enthusiasist @ Aug 28 2009, 12:16 PM)
Why not Maxis allocate some bandwidth for wireless broadband?
*
wireless and wired different infrastructure iianm. the teams also different. and as prasys said before, the cost of operating wireless broadband is more expensive than wired, hence the stupid speed and mindless capping limit. smile.gif

1) No cap limit. DL as many as you like.
2) Give you double speed. You take 1M package, you get double speed. No stupid best effort speed.
3) And not just speed. You get constant speed also.

Which broadband co. can give you this package? "

they have limited places to offer, due to Telekom's domination monopolization in Screamyx wired sector.

yesterday was horrible i dont know why. perhaps something happened to maxis DNS.

i had to refresh many times when searching thru google. but the speed is still ok, just that the browser cant search for the domain names.
