Just wanna confirm with you guys cause i'm thinking about subscribing as well. Is the free upgrade from 1mbps to 2 mbps still going on? or do we have to talk with the technicians or something to get it. The site is pretty confusing cause they have both the 1mbps package and the 2 mbps package so i dont see how they would give you a free upgrade to 2mbps from the basic 88 a month 1 mb line. =/ will be subscribing in taman tasik semenyih btw if there's anybody who has already experienced subscribing there.

I suggest u to talk to experienced people within Maxis or maybe the SC that u wanted to apply the wired broadband since they knew about it.

During my time there was no 2mbps bundled package. smile.gif

Hi all, I've been searching for a proper service within my area.

I need to ask for those of you using Maxis Broadband Wired - to confirm is this also "Wired"?

it's wired too but then there's FUP to compensate its fast speed. smile.gif

im using maxis wired broadband 1MB in puchong area, its much better than streamyx ping and stability from my other streamyx lines in PJ.

Only problem is that my area doenst have HSBB and 2MB package pricing seems too expensive..
*
to me it's worth it although a bit expensive than others.

i've been using 1Mbps package for 2 years.  recently i called maxis to ask for an upgrade to 2Mbps but they said no such package..

is anyone still using the 2Mbps package?
*
i'm one of the lucky users who did get 2mbps as "free upgrade" 2 or 3 years back, and i'm still paying RM88 as monthly payment.

maxis has the habit of honouring one-time promotion, so usually after the promotion, they will erase anything related to it for new users, hence why the customer service said to you "no such package".

It's been a while. Still on 2mbps here at Rawang. sigh.

I had done some research and found out maxis is using G.DMT modulation which is capable for connection up to 8mbps. (see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G.992.1 )

I guess maxis didn't introduce new package like 4mbps or 8mbps maybe because it's not that profitable?

I'm planning to apply, live in Puchong, is it good connection?
*
so far so good. if there's downtime due to external reasons e.g. stolen cables, maxis will try to up it within 2 working days smile.gif
