Btw currently only got 1 ssid which use both frequency 2.4ghz n 5ghz..if is possible to set i ssid to use 2.4ghz while 5ghz another ssid on amplifi HD like other mainstream router?

Hey guys,

I'm looking for some advices here. A little bit of a background, I am currently living in a condo with TIME Fiber 500 Mbps internet, using a Netgear Nighthawk R8500 as my main router, with a Ubiquiti AC-LR to extend the range to the farthest bedrooms. Right now, I am taping down the ethernet cable on the floor and ceiling from the router to the AP.

Two things are about to happen in the near future; moving into a new condo (renting a bigger unit, may potentially potentially pose a bigger issue for Wi-Fi), and getting married. As such, I am in search of a more aesthetically pleasing solution than my current one, as the new setup will have to be wife-approved and not the cincai solution it is now haha. This is where I need help from you guys.

I have been looking at a few of the Wi-Fi mesh systems, especially the AmplifiHD and the eeros, but both seem to have their own issues, and neither have official support in Malaysia.

So now I am back to thinking of going full Unifi (or maybe Mikrotik or Ruckus???) setup, but then comes the question of how do I hide all the ethernet cables? Any of you have experience with this, especially in rented properties? Would appreciate any help I can get 

Does the gaming edition really have better hardware/software to offer better performance or is it just simply prioritising gaming devices (QoS basically)? In either case, can PM me your prices for both.

A question I have with these Mesh systems though. Will I be able to saturate my 500Mbps connection? Also, does the roaming feature work well?

I'm still open to and looking for ideas on how to implement a proper Unifi setup in a rented apartment with nice cable management that can get the wife's approval. So if any of you have experience with what sort of hardware I need and stuff, please share with me.

Nice cable management will only help inside the rack itself haha my question was how to manage and hide the ethernet cable running from the living room to the ceiling in the hallway as nicely as possible lol

guys, I was wondering, can connect unifi line to something like ubiquiti usg pro 4? thru sfp port (mayb like a transceiver)

or must use edgerouter

let just say I buy 1 unifi ap and the asus I just set it as an "ap mode" which do you think more reliable and how about wifi range?

anyway definitely prefer unifi ap over asus both got pro n con of cause but for reliability I would probably choose unifi ap.

also they are quite affordable too!

its more affordable as compared to the gila price of cisco!
