John, Why not you ask your supplier when was the upgrade processor (C2D 1.83Ghz onward) for BenQ S73G or R55 will be coming out? Mid of the year?end of the year?DONT KNOW?

Merom is called C2D. We need to see intel spec when newer proc is release. If you are lucky you might be able to support lastest C2D (800fsb)

Merom is the processor chips' name. soon ll be replace by Penryn Chips. read here.

no i just got the chance to use an intel system.
its either the client or the hardware...
so i changed my router to channel 4.

ok found some more time and diid a little bench test on t31.
what i found was tl-52 wins over t2300. its the same clock speed.
just by a little margin. but still wins. even on power consumption. so you might want to consider amd if you're considering core duo.
tl52 only lost processor cache bench
t2300 got a lot more cache.
amd usually pairs with nvidia or ati. which wins over gma950.
and the not so used but enthusiast with vista64 or linux 64bit extension
xp64 suck. thats why.

i use sisoft sandra for the test.
i'll post some screenshots later.

i tot they said that it s easier for laptop to get hotter for amd processor compare to intel duo core?

the heat is around the same for notebook proc ..but AMD draws more power than duocore proc ..so ur battery lasts longer wit DuoCOre
