anyone here have doubt on benq notebooks? it seems like benq doesnt have a good reputation. my frens also dont really recommend me this brand. but the price is quite attractive. anyone can comment?

So far im using S73G model... no problem encounter at all, in other model, no comment so far because i did not yet have an hands on experience on it..... Why your friends did not recommend it? what model he is using? what is the problem with that rig???

lol ..this is very subjective ..i own an Acer and i dun recommend ppl to take Acer but i am veri satisfied with my Acer notebook .. you get it ? veri mutual feeling lol ..but as long you get a high end spec of either Acer or BenQ then you are in safe hands usually ..

hhahahha...what i mean is like this
for example..digital camera.
first come to ur mind is canon, panasonic, nikon and etc etc.
then come this "casio". so ur impression usually is emm..is it good/trustable.
somthign like tat.

It depends on your preference. Benq is not too bad a brand in terms of features. Of course, quality and aesthetics-wise could be improved but then the price would be at the premium side.

So, there are pros and cons and it depends on yourself. I was at the recent pc fair and there were certainly a lot of notebooks at affordable prices now.

People ask me about a lot of brands. Acer for example, some people I talked to were satisfied with it (owners) while others mostly 'heard' that the brand was so-so (potential buyers).

So, the best advise I would give them is to go n try it out, get a feel of the product and make sure you don't look back at the prices after you buy it (! dang .. my I bought my S73g at 4.3k ! )

Correct bro! it depends how you use it, My advice before buying a laptop is you must think what is your purpose before buying it? it is for gaming? it is for office work? for entertainment??? etc... etc...

don't buy a laptop that not suite to your needs... just my two cents!

I test my laptop by not turn-off for 1 week... so far so good... no problem at all...

The last thing that i cant test is the S-Video, anybody test it already???

Depend bro. My friend and i get the notebook almost the same time. He get Toshiba A100.... sth with finger print one which cost him about RM5700. I get benq s73g which is about RM4100. So talking about the spec and price of course I'm a winner. Since I get X1600 and DVI output and he only got x1300. He said never mind, his one is "Branded", "Quality" for sure will be "Very" good and the "After sales" service is good also . Ok I've nothing to say. But time will tell.

Ok now five months pass. Mine s73g perform well, His so call Quality notebook got white dots (sth like death pixles) on his screen and he cannot play some of the game due to x1300 problem (Quality???). And he gave it to UK service centre and they changed him a screen with no bright view display. Just like normal LCD (Good after sales service??) . So what is the point?

BenQ is a new brand in notebook therefore they lower their price so more people can give it a try. This dosen't means that their thing is lousy, impossible they want to dig their own grave for their future notebook product. So as long as it is reasonable why don't give it a try?

Ha hope this help.. so don't bombarded by those branded company. they sale more expensive because of their "brand" only. When dig out the hard disk inside it, it also stated Hitachi, same as my benq .....

Yes,he is senior s73G in this post. Bought in the ealier time. That time my R55 still selling at RM4399 Now just purchase with RM3349 in passed PC fair.
