i have go through 15 pages abt benq notebook
i think s73g can consider a good product which come with x1600 gc
any place that have good sales personel can recomend? n defintely the best bargain place

btw, is benq joybook come with international warratny that cover vietnam?

Hey guys i hv sumthing to ask here,i'm considering the S73, R55,And hp dv6205 now.And about the S73 or R55,wuts da highest spec i can get and the price available now(or which website i can refer to bout the price thing)?And the ram are 1X1024 or 2X512?how the Wi-Fi connection?Reception clear or not coz my house using wi-fi and i alwayz play Zion.If dc then no gud la.And how long is the warranty,can it be extended?Is it a int. warranty?

2X512 ar...then if i wan to upgrade to 2gb can a not coz it sayz max 1gb only.I noe thiz ntoebook gud for gaming and all those entertainment stuff lar,but if used for programing can slow anot ?I'm a student to be for Information systems in june la.if not suitable then i go for others e di lo.

1GB ram enough for programming use alr la. I just use pentium 4 and 512MB RAM also can run the programming smoothly

i saw at lowyat a few days ago, R55 with windows XP home, 1GB(512x2) DDR2 ram can get around RM3600 ...

S73 price i think around RM3600...1GB with no windows...

i mentioned before, S73 offer performance with its x1600 mobile ati radeon...so gaming wise, better go for S73....it also have DVI-O while R55 didnt have...

U can upgrade till 4GB if u can find 2X 2GB modules. 4GB is da limit and not 1GB. For programming u dun need d powerful x1600 gc ler. Juz go get another alternative as this notebook's built quality aint dat good.

Hi freeman1314, I am using 2gb ram now. So far, everything runs smoothly. As a software developer myself, there are no issues whatsoever with programming.

Honestly, what Insydious mentioned is correct. If you are not a gamer, then itz better to find another notebook where the battery lasts longer. Personally, as a owner of a s73g, I am happy with everything except for the battery life.

Since I travel about, itz not economical to actually charge 3 hours only to be able to use it for 2 hours. FYI, my previous Benq 5000U could last 3.5 hours (wifi on) with a 2 hour recharge.

If want to compare the spec among these laptop. Hp dv6205tx is considerly out cos the procesor...

The S73G & R55 price is almost the same now but S73G didnt come with genuine windows. If u r heavy gamer then S73G would fit ur requirements. If u r mid-gaming then take R55 is more comfortable cos of 15.4" wxga + 16ms respond time LCD. 1 of forumer is offering RM3499 for R55 now.

The RAm come with 2 x 512MB.

The Benq laptop wifi is standard. Reception clear or not have to depend on ur modem lo. modem no problem then ur wifi also no problem.

U may extend up to 2 years warranty(total 3 years) by adding some bucks(around RM200 limited warranty).

2) As far as I know, the batt that comes with it is 6-cells, is there a 9-cell batt available?

No, u cant customise anything from the spec except u want to extend the warranty.

I bought the S73G on Jan07 How can I extend the warranty? I called the Benq Hotline CSO she mentioned cannot upgrade. Any advice?

for longer battery life, charge the battery only when its empty...dont use(or attach) battery while using power supply....

I see so i dun really nid very pwerful notebook for programming la but as mentioned im oso a gamer although i'm not really a hard core gamer but at least i do play games which attract my interest(mostly racing lar).So u mentioned da built quality is not so gud,can u exlain more specificly(like which part of it).Coz im stayin in penang so i can get it to the manufacturer quite easily,and will da price in penang be cheaper then in lowyat?

Lowyat Benq laptop price is 10~20% cheaper than penang price. At least R55 still selling RM4300 at penang here.zZ..

You can probably find better bargains in Penang PC Fair April 6th - 8th and KL PC Fair happening April 13th to 15th .. I am sure prices have dropped a lot since I bought in Nov '06 (4.3k).

Without battery is 1.8kg. with battery more than 2.++kg

I think im going to both penang and kl pc fair lo.But mostly i'll juz look around at penang and go buy at kl lar.But im afraid stock will be out on dat day...if so then waste my time travelling south for nothing...
