One more reason. No need to show off the L in the wild. Those jungle occupants don't appreciate the white stuff.

Problem is ... we NEED those 'white stuff' for good shoots and go further in terms of capturing images in the wild This post has been edited by ac98: Jan 28 2007, 07:56 AM |

50mm F1.8 is more than adequate for low light, but a good flash and the kit lens may be more appropriate if you want to take group pictures. @ 50mm, you dont have the freedom of space if the event is a crowded one.

yes.. thats true. I was at my Company's annual dinner and to fit 5-6 very pretty
an external flash, 430ex ( i think ) shd be a wiser choise. Cause imho, if its candid, you got to have it from a range. |

50mm, let just say you're using a 1.6 crop factor, whatever you see thru the VF is the same distance you see from your own eye. You want to be as near as possible and yet take wide shots, use wide angle lens then.
tamron 17-50mm f2.8? the downside compared to the 50mm is that it cant go bigger than 2.8 where as the 50mm can go to f1.8. Indoor shots with f2.8 would be enough imo. moreover you can get wider range with it compared to the prime lens. |

50mm f1.8 is fast lens....but it's hard for u to fit a big group into group photo...
get a external flash will be a better idea and it will work well with ur kit lens |

you battery power of the camera is used for mainly the Camera and the lens's AF motor. Aside from that, hmm... it won't drain much more with an external flash, since the external flash itself takes 4x AA
Flash photography could be a lil' tricky under different lighting condition. |

Isn't the flash gonna "drown out" the other light sources? Is the light from flash considered Daylight colour?
