QUOTE(wjie20 @ Dec 2 2007, 11:25 PM) 5D is a big jump from a 350D. Have i gotten it wrong? You do have a 350D right? and also, i have a hitch on my back that a better version of 5D might come out soon. But not sure though. 20D/30D/350D/400D all same sensor size. I wouldn't agree if you say that using either with this 24-105mm lense would produce varying results...Added on December 2, 2007, 11:28 pm Ok. So, if i have heard wrongly, this lens would do much better if i had a 20D or a better camera. I would not get good results on the 350D? Though i believe it has extreme improvements over any other non-L lens so it should give good quality? As for producing better quality pictures out of the cam, yes this lens performs much better than the other non-L lenses. Thats why you pay so much for it. Also, the build quality is much better and its weather sealed so it feels much more solid in your hands. L lenses are less prone to fungus and mould as well but you can read all these from the Canon Malaysia website..... QUOTE(goldfries @ Dec 2 2007, 11:29 PM) hehe. yup, planning for big jump. straight FF camera. I don;t think yours is considered a BIG jump. Since you've been using a APS-C cam for a while, its only natural to progress to a full frame. Nowadays, you find people who jump from a PnS to a 40D even. If you have the cash, the 5D is definetly a good investment as the skill of your photography improves, you do have to equip yourself with the better bodies($ no object). I'd wait for news of the EOS 5D replacement too....i've heard of new 5D coming out, so good also la the older 5D will drop in price. anyway body is not my main focus la. I'm just thinking about body upgrades, it's somewhere later in my shopping list. |

yeah. well was thinking if i were to spend like RM 4k for a 40D body, i might as well hold back a little longer and go Full-frame.

QUOTE(pac1 @ Dec 3 2007, 07:44 AM) If you wan to go really wide, mostly landscape if your focus, then FF is good. Crop sensor is very good for tele, especially when you are into birding! QUOTE(goldfries @ Dec 3 2007, 07:57 AM) Why do ppl think that to go wide, you need a FF? you have EFS10-22 to fullfil crop sensor's wide angle demand |

He ain;t planning to get the 5D now anyways. He's targeting the mention of a replacement model for the 5D then only go for the cam with the hopes that the price would drop considerably by then....

QUOTE(goldfries @ Dec 3 2007, 11:25 AM) come to think of it yeah. think hard man but 12-24 on cropped sensor is less wide than 10-22 mah. well, i went and look around for the angle of view of the 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX Aspherical DG / DG HSM: Horizontal angle of view: 86°48' ~ 50°37' Vertical Angle of view: 64°21' ~ 34°55' Diagonal Angle of view: 97°17' ~ 59°11' Here's the angle of view for EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM: Horizontal angle of view: 97°14' ~ 54°34' Vertical Angle of view: 74°06' ~ 37°52' Diagonal Angle of view: 107°28' ~ 63°34 Go figure. I'd go for the 12-24, really not much difference for me Another choice is the EF 14mm f/2.8L USM, but its super expensive... 8k i think o_O" it gives a Angle of view of 78°03' on the cropped sensor. On a full frame its 103°56'. |
