SOS....SOS....all sifu.

I'm using ALZA SE new version ( year 2015). I did my first ATF (1K) oil chg at SC.
Subsequently i get my foreman change Perodua DexronIII ( green cap) replace the ATF during 20K mileage.
I did DIY yesterday for ATF oil replacement during 40K using Bardahl Dexron III-H and fill up as per manual ( app 2.86L ).
Lousy manual. Maybe it's useful for old version ALZA.
But, i fill up app 2.5L only.
It end up OVERFILL ( my friends told me refill normally app 2L only ) and cause big "piang" sound during shift to reverse.
While if accelerate kuat kuat, it'll jerk like turbo car till worst case "AT" warning light turn ON.
I immediately drain out app 300mL after driving app 40km.
Then it become much smooth with some jerking and "piang" sound during shift reverse.

I surf through youtube for proper procedure of checking ATF oil level. Basically, need to drive for app 7km till engine is hot.
Then, measure the level without turn off the engine at "PARK" or "Neutral" position.
I should in between line/curve #3 and #4.
Yes, i got it at curve #3 exactly. But, still hearing "pianmg" sound during shift to reverse. As well, if accelerate kuat kuat for some time, warning light "AT" will display and intermittent jerking/santap when it auto gear change.
The "AT" warning indicator will missing after turn off engine and restart.

Anyone come across this problem?? Pls advice.
HELP...HELP...Appreciate that.

P/S: My friend who having similar ALza model with me also using BARDAHLY atf oil and it's fine.

Alza FL requires more ATF, like 2.82L or 2.9L i not too sure adi. And it should use D3-SP.

I replace back the original P2 dexron III atf oil and 2.8L (originally drain out). But problem remain.
However, I reset the ecu, it work well after that for short period of time.
It if I continue drive to teach my learning into ecu, the problem come back. However, it's not bad as originally b4 reset the ecu.
Btw, anyone know the proper way to cofigure the ecu after reset.?

Could it be the symptom of bad ecu ?

The best way to fill in the correct amount of ATF is to measure how much ATF was drained, provided no leak and no overfill previously. Just for your information you could drain another 1 litre+ if you left the car sit idle for 2 days or more after the initial drain. This is what I do if I know I'm not going to use the car for the coming few days.

You could check the ATF level at cold range (20 - 30C) when you first started the car after filling the ATF. To check at hot the temperature is within 70-80C. I normally use Infrared temperature gun to check fluid temperature. To achieve that temperature it is about 10 mins drive of 80km/h.

Anyway, from the way you describe I hope it is just one of the transmission solenoid faulty. I suggest you to go back to perodua SC BRANCH and let them diagnose the fault code produce by AT. I think they charge around rm15 for inspection. At the same time pretend you never do the DIY oil change and hopefully your warranty still intact. Good luck.

Dear Therain01,
Your information really rock and great.
Btw, I only sent my car to P2 up to 10k mileage service only.
And I didn't sent to P2 for next service which 20k and 30k mileage.
Now my car mileage is 40k.
In this case, shall I still entitle for warranty case on tnc?
I mean in practical sense, will they let me claim the warranty in yr opinion. ☺

Try to call 1800 88 6600 to check your car warranty. They will have every record about your car and the warranty entitlement from their system. Just don't forget to jot down the name of the person you talk to for verification purpose in case if information mismatch from service branch.

By right your warranty should be voided but who knows? No harm checking since you will have to send the car for fault code by official or outside workshop no matter how. I remember I was able to claim the first batch myvi front disk wrap which was over 3 years period and with remarkable 100k km mileage many years ago. Now they don't allow claim that easy anymore i guess but might come down to service center and person in charge. Who knows.

If anyone has ticking sound over the car pillar and can't seems to fix the issue no matter what you have done, try to look for the seat belt tensioner. An easy fix will be a small piece of thin foam or a crush washer. This happens to many cars not only perodua. Mazda, BMW, nissan etc.

Only the driver side and left passenger side mirror don't comply to 70% VLT set by JPJ, just wind down your mirrors in case you met JPJ roadblock. I did double tint on my new alza, my 2nd row mirror is more than 50% dark and 3rd row mirror is about 90+% dark. So far so good on UV and heat resistance, JPJ is not that free to check one by one on the road unless yours tinted to less than 30% VLT or on all mirrors, then that would be suspicious for them to block you. Otherwise, if you really got blocked, can buy 4D and strike jackpot.

Spare parts shops would have it.

1. RH Front Bumper Towing Cover. should be around RM20-22

2. Not sure which part you refer to? is it the black steel thing that holding the radiator spare tank? Where it has the boot opening holder/clip as well?

1. To to check with perodua authorized service center. Sometimes their small parts are cheaper than spare part shop.

2. I think that one is bumper. Normally people confuse bumper and bumper cover. I might be wrong though.
